whaddya think is the best algorithm for high end PC's?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
In the end, the only things we regret is the choices we didnt make.
If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them.
I have an idea for you: make online public excel table (in ggoogle docs for example), where anybody can fill it with graphic card - best algorith data!!!
This seems super helpful, especially for the modding community that dosn't have the best computers. I am definatly going to think about adding this to the new Sunrise modpack, (one I am creating B.T.W)

Thanks, my objective with this mod is to create a performance improvement mod that have compatibility with other mods, so you don't crash and don't see weird rendering.
How does this compare to Optifine's "Fast Math" option? Do you know which algorithm that uses?
It looks like Optifine uses LibGDX's algorithm.
They change the vanilla algorithm dynamically, which means that it can give a *very* small slowdown, while BetterFps requires a restart everytime you change the algorithm but don't give you the "small slowdown".
BetterFps have more than 7 algorithms, while Optifine only have two algorithms.
Optifine works with Forge and Vanilla, while BetterFps (in the current version) only supports Forge. (but I'm already working on the vanilla support)
I was hoping someone could help me understand...My FPS without ANY opt software is crappy at like 10-25 fps, and installing ANY opt software seems to not do anything at all using any of the different things in any way. FPS is always the same. The only thing that seems to change it at all is how big or small the window is...but when its at default 845x450 i cannot really see it. So what is the problem with this? =/
If I helped you in any way or agree in my ideas or posts, make sure you click that green arrow pointing up below my post or simply huggle me! I use 1.7.10 (Modded), so when I comment that I like a 1.8 mod, I will comment to downgrade to 1.7.10. I support no pics, no clicks. Suggestions that I think that are the best deserves a banner!
It is almost time to say goodbye to 1.7.10 because of the recent surge of big 1.9 mods.
Why MCreator sucks: jcm2606's file (doesn't open a new tab) He allows/welcomes anyone to link the file, so I put it here in my signature for people to know how MCreator functions. I thank jcm2606 (he's awesome) for creating the document/file and I'm just here to spread the word.
Heh
Oops, are you using the "random" algorithm or its probably my fault? I'll take a look at Taylor's Algorithm, its not fast in anyway.
xD
Nope its just set to taylors algorithm and the apply globally option (what does apply globally even do?)
I can also post dxdiag needed but yeah I was just checking out all the algorithms at once and found this lol.
(P.S. That english server got taken over by spanish people :/)

We do not create life, we create death.
Was about to ask the same thing.
It depends on the graphics card and the processor, you'll have to test each algorithm to see which one is better.
Try testing at least Riven's, Riven's Full, Riven's Half and LibGDX
Thanks, +50 FPS!!!!!

Because its Mojang.

I've noticed that if this mod is used with the FastCraft mod (http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=10820) the performance is actually slower than without either of the mods. So just a heads up to everyone don't use both mods at the same time!

That seems to be a bug, i'll take a look at it
i didn't get any great performance boost too
Updated! For Minecraft 1.8 & 1.7.10
I didn't had enough time to add new improvements (sorry), but i'll be working on it in the next few weeks
Cool!
