Hello and Welcome,
You might have heard of the mod "Zeitgeist" which was going to be a collab between the modders Aninon, and Gurgadurgen, both of which created mods of their own: "Rise of The Automatons", and "EngiCraft" respectively. As you may know this collab stopped before it could truly take off, specifically before the mods could be integrated with each other. I have been in the process of updating this mod myself, but the more I look at it the more I realize I may need to collab with a few people to bring this mod back from the dead, fix bugs and improve upon it.

Basic Construct Blocks - Made as SubBlocks
Frass - Spreading 99.8% done Needs to fix Tree conversions
Did a complete decompile and clean up of the old source codes*with-download

I can't wait to see the little fliers puttering about in the air~ trying to shoot them down with an arrow~ all while trying to run away from that scary monolith type thing that spins... yeesh... that and Endermen... those were pretty scary when I first ran around with the difficulty on....

And yes, that is infact similar to what I plan. But that one is just half of what once was. Since the Zeitgeist is a collab of 2 mods, and that one is just a port of the Rise of the automatons portion. I plan for both the Automatons, and the Dread Swarm. And possibly add in some references to other mods, but I don't know
i wanted to ask first, just how tough the thing u want to do with this mod are? like, do you need an expert coder or is anyone able to help even in bits?
i ask because im still learning about java and minecraft modding, but i also know how to model stuff and heck, possibly make textures. but not at an expert level, so i don't know if my help would be useful, depends mostly on what you need done.

Good question, basically the difficulty would depend on the part being worked on... Like for the coding, I'd appreciate people with decent java knowledge to be able to help code a few things for the future, like gui integration, and stuff like that. For textures, models, and sounds however, that could depend on how it's shown. But any help at all would be appreciated. So would you mind showing me examples of your work ?
I don't want to load up pics to the forums, so if you're okay with it, we can trade e-mails via private msg, and then i can send you some pics and tell you more about the kinda stuff i know how to do.

Here's a couple ideas:
-(If Eupraxia still exists) make water fuel, make it have the properties of BC fuel so they can be the same if used together.
-Make Automatons run on the fuel I specified.
-Have a Book of Automaton Studies.
-Also make it to where you have to study certain automatonic things to create your own automatons (such as enemy automatons, the biomes, chalk, etc(I would use a notebook to do this(In the presence of the said thing it would create a description when you open the notebook, then you would open your Book of Automaton Studies and it would transfer the description and it might unlock details of how to create spell, core, automaton, etc))
-The Book of Automaton Studies sounds a lot like the Thauminomicon from TC4 so if you do not like it skip the idea
-Automaton workbench (It could be a 5x5 grid to make crafting automatons harder and more interesting, or you could make it to where you have to physically build it yourself (Place legs on ground, then place body, then head, and other parts.)
-Have automatons be compatible with other tech mods to make the experience a lot better
-Try to make getting to Eupraxia harder (Make chalk harder to obtain or lower durability, create a core of Teleportation (that you have to use the 1st time after that you don't need it), or completely redo Eupraxia teleportation, (Just do not use Nether style portals, (so cliche)))

Hmm, most if not all of these sound like excellent ideas, a few changes may come to include some of these, probably with changes. I already planned on changing the spells, like make only one spell for teleportation for example, but make it more random. Then later on utilize technology to choose where to go, possibly a stargate like structure, or something with lasers As well as my idea of now real "ore gen" but something involving frass.... And for the textures, I will gladly accept your help, because I was thinking of getting the old textures redone, since this is more of a rewrite then a port... But either way, I still need more help aside from just textures, so anyone reading this, if you can help in any way then please don't hesitate to ask.

Okay I have an idea that I have a texture for (The Item). I think that certain Automatons should have a sort of Life span. It wouldn't be a day, but it wouldn't be forever. maybe 10-20 mine craft days, but the parts are recyclable. This is where my item comes in, it would tell you approximately how much time the automaton has left, also the life spans are random and different for each one.
I just thought about this, if the placing of the parts on the ground is feasible then you should add some sort of factory to make them, going on future plans, maybe have certain items to make this factory only in the abandoned factory, such as conveyor belt, special robots, etc. I am also adding an idea of what the gauge might be, and it is terrible be aware. and I added a potential Book of Automaton Studies it is not that great either.

I am also trying to get the logs to rotate correctly, but not be made of wood. Like I said It's coming along slowly without a lot of help.
Also my current/only helper is currently doing what he can do get the workers to work.
