Yes. anyways, I think this is dead. It was going to be so cool! Nobody has posted on this in so long, and the front page looks exactly the same as it did before summer break. None of the developers have said anything at all for well over a month. Then again, a while ago everybody thought this was dead, and he surprised everybody. Maybe he will again. I have checked this thread at least twice every week since I found it, now i'm starting to give up on it. I still will check every now and then though. I am sad.
Maybe It will end up coming back to life, 1.7 might inspire more interest in the project, although that would mean updating. I have more hope because there is more than one person, but I doubt we will see much for a while, and I worried that they won't ever be able to get a release because Mojang seems to be working faster than them. Maybe they will. I read over the older posts, and that gave me some hope. Fingers crossed we'll get an update to the front post progress monitor at some point, as that would really convince me it wasn't dead.
I have noticed that every time somebody said something about them being not serious or unprofessional, we have got something. So I am going to say it: They are obviously either not really serious about this or they are really unprofessional.
You could use forge multiparts api to have smaller, microblock gears, and also you could make larger gears that are more than one block
I was originally only doing this for the graphics side of it, but now it makes sense to make it into a real mod since I have the parts.
Yes, both multiparts and greater diameter gears are on my list.
I have no intention of making microblock gears so it is up to another mod maker to support this if he wishes.

Is the extra dimension thing still the plan? If so, would you be able to make a mod that has micro block gears that work on ships and with ships but still works without ship mod installed? Also, will pistons be able to push blocks from the normal world onto your ship? If so, you could stream water over the new compact ice so that you can have signs so that the ship can move by the water and than have just a raft going through a piston thing so you have a factory. Wouldn't be hard either, just put pistons with monster spawners to spawn the blocks in fort and have timers, could put the part on at any stage in the assembly line.

Oh and forge multi parts api is an api that lets you have micro blocks, it is a separate dependency but might soon be worked into forge. It is good because the gears could be covered by micro blocks from another mod.
On another note, is there going to be a way to connect different eagle entities together so that they can move independently but remain connected on several axises or have an elastic-like pull together? You should add elastic rope and springs, so you could make a trampoline or something.
Ps. are you an official developer, like have access to the code and contact with other developers, or do you just do the graphics?

Yes, since I seem to be making that as my own mod.
Ideally any block mechanics from vanilla or any mod would work on a EagleEnt as well as it does in the main level without any modification to the mod. Of course, a few things could mess that up.

Oh, I thought by "micro blocks" you meant the smaller blocks that can fit 8x8x8 in a space (It was another mod). Now I see you are talking about the RP2-style thin blocks which is more along what I had in mind.
I know what the Multipart API does and I plan on using it (or at least making it compatible where appropriate. Some things are a little trickier than just that when it comes to making sure gears are the right spacing to mesh properly (each gear must slide up its axle until the teeth mesh with the other gear it is perpendicular too).

Eagle was working on rope and cloth physics. Hopefully there will also be various joint types for connecting multiple EagleEnts.
Ps. are you an official developer, like have access to the code and contact with other developers, or do you just do the graphics?
No, sorry. The graphics were merely a suggestion for how to do the gears but now that I am making progress on that and the developers of this aren't I might make it its own mod.

I meant like if you have a piston that is not part of an eagle entity (ee) and a block in front to push, could you push that block onto an eagle entity so that it stays, and moves with that entity.
ps sorry for all the Qs, just excited somebody is actually saying stuff on this forum and that Im not the only one who still pays attention to it. If you make your own, can you link me to the thread? This would be by far better than any other mod I've played, and trust me, I've played them all. I honestly would be surprised if somebody named a mod I've never heard of, especially if it was around for 1.2.4 or 1.2.5
I don't want to make a thread until I have a bit more to show for and when I get more serious about working on the mod. It is too early and up to question at this point. Of course I wouldn't mind sharing an alpha release with anyone who asks, however it is really not worth playing yet as it doesn't do anything functional at this point in time.

Well once you get a mod up and running, and if you deicide to make a thread, than post a link, because anybody who still checks this thread is obviously really desperate and has no social life, and would be really excited to see something new here.
I think that this gear mod of mine is eventually going to force me to make some kind of moving block system (primarily for use with winches, allowing counterweights, elevators, etc.). I would prefer it to be like PhysicsCraft with proper moving parts and not some excuse that uses sliding tile entities like the RP2 frames. So either I am going to have to get my hands dirty and take over this entire mod myself, or keep my mod rather limited in the interest of actually releasing something.
The answers to both of those questions are the same, and that answer is the sad one.
I.E. There is no other mod like it and it is almost certainly dead. There, now If you didn't get it you don't have to embarrass yourself on the internet or go on confused.

It's pretty sad. Just THINK of all the things that could be done with this mod.
Sorry I haven't been posting, but been crazy busy with work and real life. What time I could wrestle away from stuff I wanted to actually play. So... There you go.
I would like to start up working again, but things are pretty up in the air. You guys are right in that the plans for this mod are pretty unique, and that's why I wanted it so bad.
As I have said many times before. There are no time lines and don't expect anything soon. But I think I will be able to work again soon. Things are difficult though. What I want to accomplish here is very hard, and I have no structured schooling in java. But the point of this post is to say the mod isn't completely dead, just nursing in the hospital.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
If you think something's impossible.
You haven't tried hard enough.
World from a developer! WOOT WOOT! I was six days late. That shows how often I check this thread anymore. Wow, it is depressing how excited I am. Dang, I really thought this was dead. Not the first time for this project. Anyway, tell the mod I say get well soon. I actually started to learn java, so maybe I could give more constructive ideas in the future. But anyways, good luck. I'll check the thread again tomorrow.
If there is anyone still working on this mod, I am a little new to coding, but I would like to help out if possible. This mod seems really great, and if it is finished, would provide an awesome experience to the game.
