already done basically. might not be what you wanted totally but it allows to to change your GUI in game. place it wherever on the screen and change the look slightly. and im sure you can find a texture pack if your not totally satisfied http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/690142-147-advanced-hud-481/
Great idea..i like the color of obsidian,if obsidian bricks block can be used to make a redstone piston doors,(traps,etc..)it would be amazing..(maybe can make a chiseled obsidian bricks to decoration..)
The only thing i see complicated is make that if you haven't a diamond pickaxe enchanted with eficience 2,unbreaking 2 and fortune(or best..)can be really hard make a house with it ..maybe the obsidian bricks can be crafted with a melt obsidian and clay(if obsidian have 6,000 of explosion resistence, maybe 3 of melted obsidian in the middle and 6 of clay..with 2,000 of resistence,or 1 of melted obsidian and 8 of clay with 666 of resistence..if you fail and put a obsidian brick block, that make being faster to breack and replace in the richt place..),other idea can be craft melted obsidian with sand to make obsidian sand and make obsidian glass..
Sorry..only 1 another idea more..(can be used in decoration and mob traps..to take its drops..if that being used right..)diferent netherbricks..that have the same colors from the netherrock, red bricks with the unions yellow/orange..(if netherock be compared with cobblestone with diferent colors..)that bricks can be fired/inflames in all of it sides like the wood, but don't burn like the netherrock and like it only you can stop the fire..
Netherock remember me that dragon scales..stone bark covering burning lava..
i fit will include this much i dont think i will do it cause im not really looking for something that adds a bunch of stuff. just one simple thing basically thats why im doing the calender mod and im gonna start a GUI mod soon. but it does sound like it would be a good mod. you can always learn. this would be really simple stuff and you would be able to do it in like the first couple tutorials you watch
How about a simple inventory mod that takes away 2 rows of a players inventory, so they only have 9 inventory slots and their hot bar. That way players have a more realistic feel because they can only carry small amounts of items, instead of their whole house and all of their items :]

yeah sorry i did look just forgot to post a comment but i dont think i will do this cause i dont find the need for this. it is a good idea but i and im sure alot of others dont really find a need for this
What about a mod that adds mini men. You can get a human soul from a priest villager. The crafting will be 1 leather, 1 human soul, 1 soul sand and they can build a tiny village, a tiny mine, and give you tiny iron, gold, coal, and diamonds which u can craft into a full-sized resources.

haha i find this hilarious maybe if i get some time after the mods im doing i will do this
i want to bring classic back to the offline client
There's the OpenClassic program if you want regular Minecraft Classic back with level saving and such, and it even works offline, and then there's also Exalm's NBXLite and Olddays mod which brings back many old Minecraft features into 1.4+, plus old terrain generation from Beta 1.7.3 and earlier!

Concise version: I want food to be useful... sort of force the player to eat a variety of food and require more food throughout the day, with buffs and debuffs and a new Starvation meter.
Or, if you don't feel like that one... Another is the Dungeon Dimensions, a mod where you can find golden doors around y level 6-7 in an obsidian room, when you go through the doors you are taken to a dimension that is its own dungeon, a long and complex dungeon with new mobs and even bosses with their own strategies to defeat them. You cannot break or place blocks in the Dungeon Dimensions (basically you are set to Adventure Mode) and you can find rare and powerful equipment hidden in these dungeons along with legendary equipment from the chest after the boss. Some rooms would require you to clear all mobs in the room, optional rooms with puzzles, and even platforming rooms, each optional room leading to a chest with loot in it. The dungeons would be randomly generated each time and the golden door would always lead to the same dungeon. The door can be broken but would drop a gold block.
Hehe... A third idea would be GraveStones, left behind when and where you die, they would store all the items you had on you when you died and would drop them when broken.
Sorry for so many ideas... I just don't have time to learn enough coding to do these... Really wish I did, I used to mod but my job eats all my time and Minecraft eats any that is left.

dont worry about all the ideas i appreciate it actually. im not really intrested in the first one, the second one sounds preety cool i was wanting to do an adventure mod and this might be the one i would do. also the third idea is done by risugami(creator of modloader). basically it places a chest where you die that holds all your stuff.
all you need to do is take out all the new blocks change the texture pack world generation and water physics
i have the perfect texture pack already
i dont know.... i really dont like to edit base classes. the way i thought of doing it is a new game mode. like you get survival creative or hard core. it would add classic. but still im probably not the guy to do this
