So some people say Minecraft is to easy and combat is not hard (if Minecraft was about the combat) so why not incorporate one of the hardest games ever with Minecraft?
Idea-To make Minecraft hard like Dark Souls. You will die A LOT. The mobs will have a big health and damage increase as well as some new mobs and places.
New Mobs-
Undead Archer- Archer with crossbow. Stronger than bow and arrow.
Dragon- Ultra rare. Found in temples (will be elaborated) VERY strong and difficult to take down. When it is defeted it will drop a dragon scale. Guards a treasure room filled with rare ores.
Undead torch bearer- Holds a torch and hits a player with it. Player catches on fire and drops a torch when killed.
The Channeler- Fires soul arrows and makes enemies around him stronger. High health and drops soul arrows.
Rats- Large rats that can poison the player.
And other enemies from Dark Souls.
Temples- Contain dragons. 1-2 per world. Might make a model and post some pics tommorow.
New Items-
Soul arrows- Fired with a socerers catalyst (I think thats what its called).
Dragon scale- Upgrades a weapons damage and durability.
Crossbow- Better than bow and arrow. Uses bolts.
Bolts- Used in bow and arrow.
That's all I have for know. If you have any ideas please post some below. If you want to make this mod let me know and give it a shot! I don't know how to mod/code/texture pack but I do have plenty of ideas and can build a temple model and come up with crafting recipes.
This will be really fun when it will be made. I'm more of a free builder, but if you could also implement bosses from games like Zelda and other epic games (maybe the Chrono Serie, wich is Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross).
I've had this idea for a while and have so much more than that as an idea. I can't code myself, but I would love to play this mod, because I love Dark Souls.
One idea I had: make huge, randomly constructed castles, not as big as the castles from the actual Dark Souls, but still intimidating in stature. In the middle of some, but not all, of these castles lies a huge room in which a dragon boss guards his treasure. The dragon wouldnt awaken until the player enters the room.
Beyond the new castles, the world geograpy itself would still be vanilla minecraft with randomly generated and varied landscapes, and still would have forests and deserts and oceans and such, obviously.
Weapons: We add a ton of base weapons, and add special item drops from mobs and treasure chests: upgrading stones.
One would use these stones at a Forge that the player can craft to upgrade a basic weapon up one of six or seven paths. Each upgrade goes up to +5 or +10 or +15, like Dark Souls. We would include Fire Stones, Magic Stones, Holy Stones, Lightning Stones, Dextrous Stones, Strength Stones, Titanite Stones, Dragon Scales and Boss Souls. Qualities would be from least to greatest: Shards, Chunks, Slabs, for respective upgrades, example follows:
FIRE LONGSWORD
Basic Longsword + 9 Titanite Shards = Longsword +5
Longsword +5 + Fire Shard = Fire Longsword
Fire Longsword + 9 Fire Shards = Fire Longsword +5
Fire Longsword +5 + 9 Fire Chunks = Fire Longsword +10
Fire Longsword +10 + 9 Fire Slabs = Fire Longsword + 15
OR
Fire Longsword +10 + Fire Chunk = Chaos Longsword
Chaos Longsword + 9 Fire Chunks = Chaos Longsword +5
*9 is required for each tier of upgrade:
first upgrade requires 1 stone,
second requires 1,
third upgrade requires 2 stones,
fourth upgrade requires 2,
and the fifth upgrade of a set requires 3 stones
(so the total amount of stones to upgrade to the next multipe of five is 9, if you did the math).
Of course, you don't have to immediately upgrade to a multiple of 5, so you can have a Fire Longsword +3 if you only have four fire shards and a longsword +5.
Another idea: Huge bosses randomly stalk the landscape, but only spawn once. A special compass can be crafted to point the player towards the nearest boss. These huge bosses, relative to the bosses in Dark Souls like the Gaping Dragon, Ornstein and Smough, and Seath would drop special Boss Souls (for boss weapon ascension from mundane weapons).
Of course, tons of enemies along with tons of weapons and armors would be added, and each weapon and armor can be upgraded.
Rings can be equipped to reap certain benefits.
Each enemy drops souls when killed, based on the power of the enemy, this of course separate from "experience" which is for enchanting levels. The soul counter would act like a currency for upgrading weapons and leveling up.
Leveling would be a cool addition for this mod. With the acquisition of souls, the player can level up and upgrade one of many different statistics to improve themselves. Strength would increase strength-related weapons' damages, Dexterity for dextrous weaponry, Intelligence for magic weapons and Faith for Holy weapons, and of course the Endurance for faster movement when wearing heavy armor and using heavy weapons, Vitality to increase the health available to the player, Attunement for amount of equippable spells, and Resistance for general resistance improvement. The player would have a list of resistances and armor and health.
Magic is another statistic that can be altered at a Bonfire. A learned spell can be selected here and then cast with an appropriate catalyst, until the max number of spells have been cast, then the player must rest at a bonfire. Magic has to be discovered from scrolls which are dropped by high level enemies and decrypted at Spell Forges. A spell has a certain statistic requirement to be cast, such as intelligence, faith, or pyromancy glove level.
Bonfires are craftable with torches and iron swords, instantly heals the player, and restores estus flasks which can be upgraded with certain rare souls. Humanities, a rare drop, can be used here to upgrade how many estus flasks the bonfire gives you. Again, spells can be changed here. Bonfires can also be used as "Ender Chests" where you can access an inventory at each Bonfire, so that the player doesn't always have to carry a ton of items as long as they have another bonfire. If the player dies, they respawn at the last Bonfire or Bed they rested at.
Another craftable useable block would be a Spell Forge, a place where scrolls are decrypted. Scrolls are dropped from stronger enemies rarely, with either a symbol for pyromancy, miracle, or sorcery, although the specific spell is unknown at first. These are put into the Spell Forge and the Spell Forge may decrypt them... for a certain soul price. Once purchased, the spell can be equipped at a bonfire ONCE per scroll for any given spell. So if a player finds 12 Pyromancy scrolls from mobs and decrypts them, and they are 8 Combustion spells and 2 Fireball and 2 Great Combustion spells, the player can equip, according to the Attunement statistic, as many of each as they want, so they could have 8 Combustion spells or 2 Combustion, 2 Great Combustion, and 2 Fireball. Or what have you. And of course, each account of each spell can be cast multiple times, so "one combustion" can actually be cast eight times. So if a player chooses 8 Combustion spells, then the player can cast combustion 64 times.
In essence, crafting and activated blocks would be Bonfires, Forges, and Spell Forges. New items include armor, weapons, upgrade stones and souls and humanities. Of course there are new enemies and the new castle structure.
It would be AMAZING if someone actually made this mod, but I'm skeptical that anyone ever will, as much as I would support their goal.
These are just general ideas, there are still missing aspects but they can be addressed later.
i was just thinking this while taking a shower after dying like 10 times to random monsters while running to cuddly not fun but the only problem is the map if u can some how make the jumps and roll areas fitting for the difficulty
EDIT: oh i just realized that if u get one of the parkour mods compatible with it then you can make it work better like smart moving u can slid in it so thats the eplacer for roll

Or you ncould add them to the game in the mod itself. like add a button and an animation for a role.I really wish i could help but i can't code.

Again, I fully approve of anyone willing to code this, and honored if you would use my ideas, any at all.
Just keep me updated on the progress of the mod! I can't wait to play it!
Or Skype me, my Skype is PlankinWulf.
Show some pictures of what they look like too.
I'd love to see this made! its a great idea combining two great games. Perhaps if there were to be a Dark Souls-sy combat added too
