I've been working tirelessly in Minecraft trying to increase the speed of a water rapids near my house, but I've had no luck. So the idea came to me of a Water Wheel. It could be a fairly large item, about 2 blocks long and high, and 1 wide. You would connect the Wheel by one of the two blocks on top to any surface, and (with the use of a Redstone mechanism) the wheel would begin spinning in whatever direction you are facing when you activate it.
Now another problem that I've been addressed with a few times is how much area it would cover. Well, the water would begin to flow toward the wheel, and should you be caught in that tide and cling to the side of the wheel, you would get an extra boost of speed. So tell me what you think of this. Not only could it be used as a water mover, it could be a great decoration. (Think of all the Steampunk uses!) Thanks for reading!

Gold is rarer then Iron, but Gold can't mine as fast!
You can't explain that!
