Server lag is common with death after collecting much EXP.
could anyone make a server side bukkit compatible mod that will stop/despawn any and all EXP orbs that are dropped by monsters or players when they die?
I am sure at least one of you who are reading this have seen what problems EXP orbs can have when you have been collecting them without notice- they can build up and when you die cause a nuke of particle effects which can crash servers because they can't render them.
so if anyone could possibly made a SMP mod that will stop EXP orbs from appearing server side- I think this will make alot of people happy- since well... EXP doesn't exactly have a use yet.

High Grade Orbs
the other idea of mine to reduce lag is to make EXP condense into higher grade orbs when absorbed by the player-
like their size and color changes so when you have gathered 100 total EXP orbs. when you die you drop a single silver EXP orb or something along those lines
Bad time to ask, I think they all lagging so much they cant even respond to topics :tongue.gif:
But yes, the orbs are an issue, we shouldnt lose them as items when we die, we should lose them but be told how much we lost (ie, %40 of the total XP obs for that level up)
ie.. If I was a level 10, with the XP bar, at say 60,000/100,000; I would lose 24,000 xp.. and the text would say..
"You have Died (By how)... lost 24,000 XP"
So the orbs dont come out of you, you just have them deleted off you.

the regular green orbs would be 1
green- 1
yellow- 10
orange- 50
blue- 100
red- 500
silver- 1000
