This idea might seem crazy or has been done before but I wanted to see if anybody has done this yet in the community.
Heres my idea, work benches that can create more complex looking objects, full sized trains that run on steam and coal that have a number of seats. Boats that run off of paddles and steam for example. I am good with photoshop and Maya but when it comes to coding I don't know the first thing when it comes to making extensions.
I figured it could work like this. The object would require x- supplies to be built but would require some sort of engine or method of propulsion requiring other components to be built and integrated to allow proper movement so you would have limitations the larger an object would be for example. The goal here would be to create objects that run on either rails, road, or water that look unique and allow the builder to design something truly unique. I do understand that this game is designed around the principle of simplicity, but there is also an element of complication at it as well, ie red dust.

So lemme know what you all think.
