I just found a mod that lets you use the 3d gear from the anime "Attack on Titan", and I wanted to ask how to install it. The only things I have ever installed on my Minecraft are texture packs, so I am still quite new at this.
Hello, I CAn Help You With Ur Problem, First, Does this mod require modloader? If it does Please Do the following:
1.Download Modloader
2.enter To Your Minecraft Bin
3.Change The Minecraft.jar To Minecraft.jar.zip [depends on computer] And Open It To Become A Folder
4.Go Into It
5.Find The Folder Meta-Inf
6.Delete It
7.Put all files of modloader in the Folder
8.Download The Mod
9.Put all The Mod Files In There [sometimes The Skins SHould Be Put In The Skins Section]
10.Done
"New Way" [havent tried it]
1.Download Mod Loader And Forge loader
2.A File Named Mods Should Appear In Your Minecraft Folder
3.Put Mod In It
Okay, so that mod needs Forge. To install Forge, open up the /bin directory, which is in the same folder that the texture pack folder is in. Next, open the minecraft.jar with WinRAR or 7-zip and drag the contents of the minecraftforge.zip into it, overriding if you must. Also, I believe you still delete the META-INF folder (?) before running. Now, run Minecraft once. Exit out, and now in the .minecraft folder, there should be a 'mods' directory. You put the mod itself in there, and Voila~. Now it'll work. Or at least, it should.
Also, there's this little Heaven on Earth for novice modders. It's called Magic Launcher, useful for adding mods without actually changing your minecraft.jar. And if anything goes wrong with the first installation, just open the Minecraft launcher and click 'Force Update' under options. Hope it goes well for ya.
My only real question is...what version of Minecraft/Forge is this for? I can't seem to find a date or version to pinpoint what you'll need. Without that information, it's a bit of a guessing game. Could try with the latest versions, I suppose...
