You will be forced to read you own error logs as this will teach you what to do when a error appears, and no, my methods of reading the error logs will not make you a master of error fixing.
I am still human, subject to the effects of time, hunger, sleepiness, and the limited knowledge of the universe as any regular human being, I don’t know the meaning of life, nor do I know every single error, glitch, bug, or annoyance that you find. Remember, life starts with a step… er... how did it go again? Whatever you get my point. Whoever finds a solution to a problem, I’ll try to relay it here.
Now here is a question for you.
What is Flans mod?
Is it a mod or a something more?
I’ll tell you right now, it is not a mod, it more like an API.
What is an API?
Well you can google it, but it’ll just give you a complete mess of words.
This is what I believe an API is, it’s a program in a program.
Hate it if you wish but that’s what I think an API is and I’m sticking with it.
So what does that mean for Flans Mod?
It means that Flans mod is nothing more then a canvas and the content packs are the paint.
The Flans mod is there for support while the content packs make it more then a simple mod that just sits there looking pretty.
That is Flans mod, a platform to something more.

Getting Started, Will It Work?
Okay, first things first, you need to get the latest Flans mother mod and place that into your mods folder
You don’t have a mods folder? Then get FML aka Forge Mod Loader, latest version if possible!!
Then start Minecraft to see if you got Forge Mod Loader, or FML, installed correctly
Did it work? If yes, skip down to Content Packs, if not keep reading
If you get this message
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 4091 is already occupied by

Ok, this means that you have a mod that is using an id that flans mod is trying to use, but didn’t get there fast enough to bully that id away.
Take a breather and relax now; it’s not the end of the world. Get this mod Id Resolver.
What this little beauty does is simple, it helps you solve id conflicts, let them be block or item ids. Simple as that.
And don’t worry, if you have redpower² it has an auto assign feature that lets you simply fly through assigning ids
But there is one exception, if you are using buildcraft and get id conflicts with flan mod take precaution as buildcraft has a little… quirk… it needs oil still block +1 then oil moving block. This means that you need to manually go through buildcraft energy (part of buildcraft, as in buildcraft has sections) and manually give the oil blocks their ids.
Oh and another precaution, its best if you give flans mod the highest priority as some of the content packs HATE and I repeat HATE change, so best if you just make it easier on you and me and give flans mod the highest priority, just scroll down you’ll see it.
Now that you got the id conflicts fix on to the next section!
Content Packs
Now then time to get some content packs, go on download them, I’ll wait…..
Done? Great!!! Now place them into flans folder that was generated during your test run and place them in.
Now what I need you to do is un-zip them, many of a noob hasn’t done this and complain right away and say this mod is s@#t and say that this mod deserves to burn in hell.
Let not be that noob and un-zip that awesome packed of goodness and lets get rolling, oh and be sure that it contains multiple folders, not a repeat of the zip that you un-zipped that zip files sometimes make.
You know “Simple Parts” leads to “Parts Pack”
Lets get this right and make sure that we have a multiple folders right after the main packs folder
HURRAH you are done, now go through each of the content packs I listed (as of now) and see what errors/glitches/bugs that contain in each pack.
Now some common bugs
Bug: During flying you get kicked out of your plane, get stuck on the ground, and the game still thinks you are flying the plane.
Cause: The game is not generating or loading chunks fast enough, thus making you “fall” into a world hole.
Solution: Get Optifine and make Chunk Loading to Multi-Core, and/or fly slowly, I mean so slow you just barely take off and adjust attitude. Hey it beats creative flying and running.
Bug: As soon getting off the plane, you die
Cause: During descend the game thinks you are falling not flying, thus killing you
Solution: Right before you land, level off or even gain a little attitude, then land
Cause: Unknown, as in you just get in and get off dying, even if you didn’t touch any movement controls
Solution: A user in the Flans thread says that logging off and logging back in causes you to safely exit the plane
Bug: Ticking Enity
Cause: Number of things, but if you have guns and Id Resolver, its cause by the game confusing over ids.
Solution: Make Flans Mod top priority

Magic Launcher Guide
This is a just a simple guide for Magic Launcher for flans mod
alright, if you didn't take the time to read Magic Launchers main post, then here is a quick summary.
Magic Launcher is a customizable launcher that shows you to see Minecraft news; Minecraft reddit; Twitter about Notch, Jeb, and Dinnerbone; a section called "The Word of Notch"; Minecraft Forum; and lastly Mincraft Wiki.
But the main feature is really the ability to manage your mods and the ease of making custom modpacks in seconds
to do that here is what the setup screen looks like, the main place to manage mods
right now this is my default, but you can change it up anyway you like it
and this is my main modded minecraft that i play on a everyday basis
as you can see i have a lot of mods, ok maybe not that much to some of you, but you get my point
oh and here is a quick peek on the amount of mod packs i have
alright, what you basicly need is forge, flans mother mod, and the maybe optifine
and here is what it should look like
now that we got this sorted out, after testing and making sure that flans folder is generated this is what my flans folder looks like
as you can see i have some content packs still zipped while only flans simple parts and ye olde pack are unzipped
the zip files won't be read so you can store all of the content packs as you see here and to prove that only these two are working, lets go in minecraft real quick.
there thats pretty much it but if you have a mod and it won't load make sure its not a coremod as coremod go into the folder called coremods (der)
here we can see that forge has created 2 mod folders, a coremods folder and a mods folder, if you don't know what mod is which you need to check that mod thread and place core mods manually
This is great information! I've downloaded and unzipped everything from the Flan's mod itself, to the 3 contents packs that I have - Simple Parts, Modern Weapons, and Ye Old Pack. However, when I go into my world on Minecraft, I still don't see anything that I've downloaded and unzipped. I feel like I need to simply turn all the stuff "ON" now, but I'm obviously missing something?
Swords, could you possibly post a DETAILED guide for magic launcher, like unzipping and zipping, what order they should be. *edit* Yesh! Now this is where I'll put good future suggestions.
I've got simple parts pack working and the base mod and forge working with magic launcher, but not modern weapons, I've taken the folder called 'Modern Weapons Pack' and zipped it up, but no workie in magic launcher, help?

your problem involves a vehicle not loading correctly in minecraft, like when you try to place a car or tank
make sure that you have simple parts, as all vehicle content packs require it
my problem is that i dont know wich guns i should put on the planes........
its the ones that are deployable, and no i'm not going to list all of the guns that are deployable, have some fun shooting gun and finding which ones you can deploy

Hey swords, I'm just wondering what type of modes for the guns have? Ex: Semi auto, Full auto... Are there more fire modes other than this two?
And by the way, is it possible to change the colour of the bullet that has fired out from the gun?
as far as i know it is not possible to add more fire modes or change the bullet that you see when you fire. I mean i feel you man, i want burst and tracers in flans.

Ok, this means that you have a mod that is using an id that flans mod is trying to use, but didn’t get there fast enough to bully that id away.
Take a breather and relax now; it’s not the end of the world. Get this mod Id Resolver.
What this little beauty does is simple, it helps you solve id conflicts, let them be block or item ids. Simple as that.
And don’t worry, if you have redpower² it has an auto assign feature that lets you simply fly through assigning ids
But there is one exception, if you are using buildcraft and get id conflicts with flan mod take precaution as buildcraft has a little… quirk… it needs oil still block +1 then oil moving block. This means that you need to manually go through buildcraft energy (part of buildcraft, as in buildcraft has sections) and manually give the oil blocks their ids.
Oh and another precaution, its best if you give flans mod the highest priority as some of the content packs HATE and I repeat HATE change, so best if you just make it easier on you and me and give flans mod the highest priority, just scroll down you’ll see it.
Now that you got the id conflicts fix on to the next section!
Now then time to get some content packs, go on download them, I’ll wait…..
Done? Great!!! Now place them into flans folder that was generated during your test run and place them in.
Now what I need you to do is un-zip them, many of a noob hasn’t done this and complain right away and say this mod is s@#t and say that this mod deserves to burn in hell.
Let not be that noob and un-zip that awesome packed of goodness and lets get rolling, oh and be sure that it contains multiple folders, not a repeat of the zip that you un-zipped that zip files sometimes make.
You know “Simple Parts” leads to “Parts Pack”
Lets get this right and make sure that we have a multiple folders right after the main packs folder
HURRAH you are done, now go through each of the content packs I listed (as of now) and see what errors/glitches/bugs that contain in each pack.
Now some common bugs
Bug: During flying you get kicked out of your plane, get stuck on the ground, and the game still thinks you are flying the plane.
Cause: The game is not generating or loading chunks fast enough, thus making you “fall” into a world hole.
Solution: Get Optifine and make Chunk Loading to Multi-Core, and/or fly slowly, I mean so slow you just barely take off and adjust attitude. Hey it beats creative flying and running.
Bug: As soon getting off the plane, you die
Cause: During descend the game thinks you are falling not flying, thus killing you
Solution: Right before you land, level off or even gain a little attitude, then land
Cause: Unknown, as in you just get in and get off dying, even if you didn’t touch any movement controls
Solution: A user in the Flans thread says that logging off and logging back in causes you to safely exit the plane
Bug: Ticking Enity
Cause: Number of things, but if you have guns and Id Resolver, its cause by the game confusing over ids.
Solution: Make Flans Mod top priority
No really problem here. But you know if you get id conflicts… and you don’t have id resolver installed… get id resolver it does help…

This is a just a simple guide for Magic Launcher for flans mod
alright, first get Magic Launcher
alright, if you didn't take the time to read Magic Launchers main post, then here is a quick summary.
Magic Launcher is a customizable launcher that shows you to see Minecraft news; Minecraft reddit; Twitter about Notch, Jeb, and Dinnerbone; a section called "The Word of Notch"; Minecraft Forum; and lastly Mincraft Wiki.
But the main feature is really the ability to manage your mods and the ease of making custom modpacks in seconds
to do that here is what the setup screen looks like, the main place to manage mods
right now this is my default, but you can change it up anyway you like it
and this is my main modded minecraft that i play on a everyday basis
as you can see i have a lot of mods, ok maybe not that much to some of you, but you get my point
oh and here is a quick peek on the amount of mod packs i have
alright, what you basicly need is forge, flans mother mod, and the maybe optifine
and here is what it should look like
now that we got this sorted out, after testing and making sure that flans folder is generated this is what my flans folder looks like
as you can see i have some content packs still zipped while only flans simple parts and ye olde pack are unzipped
the zip files won't be read so you can store all of the content packs as you see here and to prove that only these two are working, lets go in minecraft real quick.
there thats pretty much it but if you have a mod and it won't load make sure its not a coremod as coremod go into the folder called coremods (der)
here we can see that forge has created 2 mod folders, a coremods folder and a mods folder, if you don't know what mod is which you need to check that mod thread and place core mods manually

your problem involves a vehicle not loading correctly in minecraft, like when you try to place a car or tank
make sure that you have simple parts, as all vehicle content packs require it
its the ones that are deployable, and no i'm not going to list all of the guns that are deployable, have some fun shooting gun and finding which ones you can deploy
are you trying to join a server by any chance? if you are try to find where your server info is and place team.dat into that folder
deployable means guns that can be placed in the world, just like a block, most of the machine guns are deployable
And by the way, is it possible to change the colour of the bullet that has fired out from the gun?

as said in main flans thread, you have out dated content packs. and no flan is not responsible for the User Made Content packs, the creator of the pack is
as far as i know it is not possible to add more fire modes or change the bullet that you see when you fire. I mean i feel you man, i want burst and tracers in flans.
go to flans folder, Modern Weapons Pack, icons, change AA12Clip to AA12Ammo.... if you just checked the spoilers you'll find your answer....
does the server have ownership on? if so then yes only the placer or a oped player can get rid of it
