So I Been Doing Some Digging Around Trying To Find A Way To Put Mo Creatures Mod 1.4.6 On my Computer.
I Had It Working With 1.4.5
Followed The Procedure Of Doing What MCM1.4.6 Wanted Me To Instal, And How To Install It...
But Mod Loader Crashes My MC, Custom Mob Spawner Crashes My MC, GUI API Crashes, I Even Tried Forge... But That Too Crashes. (Yes All Were Advertised FOR 1.4.6)
The Only Mod So Far That I Got Working Was Optifine1.4.6(Very Smooth Easy Install)
P.S. I Usually Get my Mods From minecraftdl.com
If Anyone Has Gotten Mo Creatures 1.4.6 Working For Them Can You Link Me To Download Spots, And A Fairly Detailed Way You Installed It Please.
Ahem, NEVER EVER get mods from anywhere but minecraft forums or planetminecraft (if you dont know what that is its ok) minecraftDL says the mod is updated for versions it actually is not if the topic here on the forums says its not updated its not.
Optifine is working because it actually IS updated mo creatures (as of me typing this) is not updated to 1.4.6 yet
Hope it helps

i install forge for 1.4.6 and delete the meta inf before i stick forges 1 in, and it works, then put in gui api and it freezes at the loading screen for no reason at all, it worked fine in 14.5
im looking for just some simple nothing neeed but MC and the mods like no mod loader or forge...i have TMI and reis minimap but i want more so thanks for the info
I have successfully gotten Mo'Creatures working in 1.4.6. I think it's a great mod; since playing with it on vanilla Minecraft feels so... empty.
Some notes on your post: Unless you're using a mod that requires Mod Loader and not Forge, or a mod that's incompatible with Forge (like Better Than Wolves) you not only should use Minecraft Forge, you probably need to. It needs to be installed first, and into the .jar. I don't think you can have ModLoader and Forge installed at the same time; after you've done that, it's likely nothing will work so it's best to start over with a clean .jar file.
You've got the right mods: GUIAPI and Mob Spawner. People have trouble with the version of GUIAPI posted at the top of the Mo Creatures thread, though (0.15.2-146) but there is a linked file in that thread that people have found that works. More on that below. More importantly, GUIAPI needs to also go in the .jar-- at least, the one I have that works does. If I put it in coremods or the mods folder, it either doesn't work or crashes Minecraft.
First, I started with MultiMC. You don't NEED to use this, but it does make installing, removing, and replacing Minecraft Forge and other mods easy and painless. It lets you not worry about whether or not you deleted META-INF after adding a mod, and can put mods into the minecraft.jar, into coremods, and into the mods folder as you choose.
Note: I started with a fresh install of 1.4.6 and no saved worlds. I added mods one at a time using MultiMC, and checked to see if Minecraft could launch, create a world, and let me start playing. Then I quit, deleted the world, deleted the configs, and added the next mod.
(Sometimes adding mods led to item ID conflicts, and I haven't found a version of ID Resolver that works with my install of 1.4.6. This seems to be the result of adding a new mod that uses the same block IDs as a mod that was already installed, but loads later than the newly added mod. Since I'm deleting all my worlds until I get the setup I want, this doesn't matter, so I just continue adding mods, testing, and deleting all config files until I get all the mods I want, no crashes, and no ID conflicts, then I back everything up and start playing.
In MultiMC, add a new instance and choose 1.4.6 from the version list-- it should be the default. Give your instance a name, like "Mo Creatures" so you can identify it later. Right click the instance icon in the window and choose "edit mods" from the contextual menu.
Start with the first tab-- minecraft.jar. This will install mods into the Minecraft file itself, and for this setup, some of them need to be there. First, Minecraft Forge. Mo Creatures has three required components besides Forge, and they have various conflicts with versions of Forge; some want 472 or 473 or higher, but the thread I read suggests staying away from 481 or higher, so I settled on version 480 and have generally had good luck with it. I may try to upgrade to a later version, but right now I have 64 mods loaded and working well so I may leave things alone for a bit.
Click the "MC Forge" button on the right hand side, and choose version 6.5.0.480 from the list.
Once that is installed, we need Mo Creatures and the mods it requires: GuiAPI and Custom Mob Spawner.
In that thread is a link to this temporary version of GUIAPI, 0.15.1. It was created as a stopgap for 1.4.6 compatibility. I have since seen newer versions (at least 0.15.2) but I have been unable so far to get it to work with my setup. YMMV.
NOTE: Plenty of people here will advise you NOT to download unofficial mods or from sites other than official sites. This is great advice! However, I really liked this mod and it was linked in the official thread with users saying they had good luck, and it has worked well for me so far.
In MultiMC, choose your instance, select "edit mods" and in the Minecraft.jar tab, click add and choose the .zip file you just downloaded. (Do not unzip it; most mods are either .zip or .jar files and .zip archives don't need to be unzipped to be installed, whether in the .jar or the mods folder).
You can go ahead and right click your instance in MultiMC and click "Play" now. You'll need your MC login/password. GUIAPI doesn't do anything by itself, though, but you'll want to check that your .jar is OK and that Forge is loaded and installed properly. If you can make a test world and play in it, all is OK. Delete the world. Right click your instance in MultiMC and choose "View Folder". It'll open the folder for that instance. You can go into the minecraft/config folder and delete any config files there before adding the next mod, Custom Mob Spawner.
You'll want Custom Mob Spawner version 1.10. You can get it from this thread:
Narcogen - Thanks SO much for the clear walk through tutorial and all the links. That worked perfectly for me.
I am now in love with MultMC and my 5 yr old whos been bugging me to get mo' creatures again will be ecstatic. Seriously, great job! -Matt
Glad that worked for you!
It was Mo Creatures, along with ExtraBiomesXL and the features added to MC in 1.4 that enticed me to leave Tekkit (after Tekkit got me to leave MC on the Xbox and back to playing on the PC.
ExtraBiomes makes the world look a lot more varied, and Mo Creatures makes it feel a lot less empty.
MultiMC is also great. After Tekkit I abandoned launchers and tried installing mods on my own, but troubleshooting large collections quickly became very tedious, especially when trying out different versions of Forge, that have to go into the jar and not the mods folder. MultiMC not only made it a snap to do so, but also lets me easily maintain instances with different versions and combinations of Forge and other mods so that I can tell in advance if things are going to work together before upgrading the instance I play on.
THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED
I Downloaded A Falsely Marked Copy Of MoCreatures Mod. Thus Resulting In A Crash Every Time.
Once The Mod Came Avaliable On minecraftforum.net All Problems Went Away And Everything Worked Smoothly After That.
Thanks Everyone For Replying And Guiding Me On The Right Path. I Hope This Helped Others As It Has Helped Me.
+1 to Narcogen's instructions. It took me ages to get this worked out, but I got it going in the end.
Some extra tips for problems that stumped me for a while:
* If you get a SecurityException, you need to remove the META-INF folder from the minecraft.jar that Forge creates in instances/<game name>/minecraft/bin.
NOTE: Plenty of people here will advise you NOT to download unofficial mods or from sites other than official sites. This is great advice! However, I really liked this mod and it was linked in the official thread with users saying they had good luck, and it has worked well for me so far.
* The warning about unofficial mods standing, I kept getting a "NoClassDefFoundError: Setting" with the official GUIAPI. It's this temporary one that got things going for me.

You're welcome!
Are you putting the 0.15.2 version of GUIAPI in the jar, or in the mods folder? I gather from what I've read in the thread that Mo Creatures expects it to be in the jar, but that the new version is made to work with Forge and be in the mods folder. The only combination that has worked for me so far is the temp version of GUIAPI in the jar. With the official version, I either get an error message or nothing depending on where I install it.

I did it all through MultiMC. I think I tried both in the jar (first tab when editing mods) and wherever MultiMC puts stuff when you use the second tab. Neither worked for me.

No, nobody should download mods from anywhere but here or PMC
Except from the official mod web site. i.e www.eloramm.com for redpower, or www.mod-buildcraft.com for buildrcraft.

That was quite self-explanatory.

You can get it from this thread:
http://www.minecraft...om-mob-spawner/
In MultiMC, choose your instance, choose edit mods, and click the "mods" tab; then Add this zip file.
Perform the test procedure as above: Play, build world, test the world, delete configs.
Now we can add Mo Creatures itself. You want the latest, version 4.4.0.

This also goes in the mods folder. Nothing is required in coremods, and only Forge and GUIAPI need to go in the .jar.
