The main thing I do not like about it, is the amount of complelety obselete items added, and the repititive-ness of the mobs and dimensions
Items: Look at all the most quality mods, they do not at 1000000 useless items, they rather add 20 fully functional unique ones.
Dimensions: All of them are floating islands,Recoulred, 'nuff said
Mobs: Recoulred and buffed, no difference. Also the model quality and rotation points are heavily messed up.
I was super excited when I heard about this mod. It sounded so amazing, without having done much research on it. So I jumped headfirst into it and got going...
Do any of you early players remember when the Nether originally go released? It had a couple of interesting features. And then never got updated. It was a giant disappointment because the Nether had no substance for the longest time. (Until of course they started adding nether fortresses, the wither, quartz, etc)
Well this mod reminds me of that sad, sad time. Except we have that multiplied by however many dimensions this mod is up to. Why have so many dimensions when they have no substance? I'd rather have 1-3 very well designed, thought out, quality, and fleshed-out dimensions that feel incredible to explore and discover, than X number of dimensions that you literally go into just to kill a couple of mobs for their souls and then hop back out again and go on your way to the next dimension. You might as well not have any dimensions at all. Hell, even a number of the mobs are just cookie cutter renditions of each other with a recolor and added health. Maybe a few more spikey things. Because, you know, that's cool.
I can appreciate the mod for the amount of content and materails it adds.
I can appreciate the amount of time you can sink into this mod to get all the stuff.
However...
Alot of it does seem quite repetetive and not really unique once you get playing. It's pretty much several dimensions with the same enemies but pallete swapped and a different element. I know it's not that black & white but it's pretty close to it.
The armor and weapons, with certain exceptions, are aquired and thrown away as soon as you find the next dimension's ores and materials. Which I find a little bit like grinding away levels in an MMORPG.
I feel that the content could of been spaced out a bit more and the dimensions fleshed out quite a lot. Not to mention making the ores and whatnot work together with other ores and such perhaps adding some Forge dictionary support or something?
In conclusion I can applaud the mod for it's intentions but it's execution and follow through is a little poor.
Divine RPG is an amazing mod, but almost everything ends in "ite". I don't know if that was the theme or something, but it's pretty uncreative. The models for the mobs and NPCs are awesome. The terrain generation is awesome.
This mod is just a mess... I'd much rather instal a mod like the Twilight Forest, where you can actually go exploring, not just get ores, then leave. And that's what you do in every dimension. And also, my friend at school told me the end game reward of this mod will be some over powered sword that can kill with 1 hit. I don't know if this is true, but knowing the lack of creativity this mod has, it probably will.
No, divine rpg is just terrible compared to other mods, such as the cubed mod thats coming out. i was exited to find out there were new bosses, hoping there was some cool way of finding them, but instead you just make an item and spawn them in, only to kill them...
this mod was made by a overgrown toddler, and like I said, check out Cubed http://cubedmod.com/about
Well obviously you do not understand the mod. The dimensions that are the same are being totally redone, and the other three are amazing. This mod accomplishes its goal well: Turning Minecraft into a Divine RPG in which you face off with the powers of Arkisane and Heleosis. This thread is just a place to vent and spam about how you're having so much trouble with the mod and that it's all so hard and blah blah blah...
Your minecraft ignorance proved your fakeness, you can't get anything to X in survival, there is an xp cap.
correction: you can't obtain level X enchantments legitably, but it is possible to obtain a level X enchantment (The most popular being NEI - Not Enough Items) - look it up if you don't believe me. One last thing, "fakeness" is not a actual word...
On a different subject: 'Divine rpg' goes well with 'Tale of Kindoms' if you remove the vanilla iron and diamond you get from 'Tale of Kingdoms'.
'Damage Indicators' is also nice so you know how much hp is left of the 100000000 hp monster.
Lastly, to all of that are whining about "I have to spawn in all the bosses, and since I suck at gathering resources this mod sucks" having to make the boss spawners is good for large multiplayer servers. for example the 'twilight forest' mod - I believe the Lich only spawns once per castle, and the the Naga spawns from a actual spawner - this is bad because players can easily clear out the castles and people destory naga spawners. while boss mobs you have to spawn - sure you may have a hard time getting resources because people tend to clear out those quickly too, but you can still get the materials relitively easier than from naturaly spawned bosses.
You notice that the "complainers" in many threads are oftentimes the ones that write the most comprehensive, eloquent, and intelligent posts. If anybody actually likes this mod, they'll write an essay at least half the length of anybody who hates this mod.
As for me, I'm somewhat neutral about it. It adds tons of new things, but most of it is pretty worthless. Not to mention the fact that mobs have a tendency to spawn in your home. That alone pretty much breaks this thing for me as anything more than an adventure mod with extremely limited replayability. I'm not going to make my Minecraft home using a world with this mod, and the only saving grace is if you can find a good configuration file that enables you to use this mod with Ultimate Pack. I don't know why Divine RPG was added to FTB. It's moderately fun at best and has many severe design flaws. I wouldn't recommend this mod to anyone, unless they want their game to become like the poorly made MMOs in the early 2000s. If you have Feed The Beast, and you see Divine RPG on the list, don't click on it without doing your research on the thing. Someone needs to fix the balancing and change the mob spawning parameters, and like Nightmoore, I'm not volunteering.
This is an absolutely insane mod. I don't know who are the people that dive down to bedrock level to mine for hours to find only a handful of rupee or arlemite but I wish you luck in your insane, very time consuming mining adventures. This entire mod feels like one big massive grind with little to show for it every time.
The mobs are insanely difficult to kill as well mostly because their hit box is not at their fricking faces! Take the Rotatick. It's a long centipede mod, who has more reach than me because of it's long body. So I can't hit it and have to whack the thing from the sides to kill it.
These mobs are far too diffficult starting out and the material needed to make better gear is too hard to find. Trust me I don't want to spend 6hrs mining for Rupees or Arlemite. I got a life I'd like to get back to!
There is some serious rebalancing that needs to be tweaked and the hitboxes on the mobs needs to be fixed as well. I'm swinging at mobs at various places and it's not hitting them. I have to find this one sweet spot to strike for it to work. They are already hard enough as is killing me in elite realmite armor in 2-3 hits!
EDIT: More complaints!
How about this.. the server version seems bugged. Particularly with FTB version of this mod. I'm sure the mod creator would blame FTB as everyone else would but FTB are professional mod pack creators so I don't buy that, but anyway.
Here's the next problem. Aggressive mobs in the overworld stop spawning while someone was in the nether. This is on a private server with only a few friends.. aka.. 3-5 tops.
Maybe melee isn't the way to go with this mod, who knows. All I know is melee is hardly working at all.
