Can you give a link to that instruction? Maybe they mean the folder where minecraft.jar located is? Vanilla Minecraft doesn't support modding yet, so different mods have differens installation procedures. What mod are you trying to install?

1. Google WinRar
2. Download the free trial version
3. Install it
4. Go to your .minecraft folder
5. Open the file labeled "bin"
6. RIGHT CLICK and go over "Open With..."
7. Select WinRAR Archiver
8. Follow the mods instructions from there
Ok, Got the same prob except this is what is going on:
1. Went to .minecraft
2. Opened the bin folder
3. WITH THE HIDDEN FILES ON! No minecraft.jar folder also no meta-whatever its called folder as well.
I even right clicked .minecraft and opened the bin folder through their to check to see if the jar file was their and it LITTERALY isnt their.
The game installed correctly, and Idk how to post screen shots. Hopefully this is enough info for me to get some help. I really want to download the 1.3.2 mob spawner gui but atm cant cuz of the above events...
as Conrad has been trying to say is that when he looks at his "minecraft.jar" folder and he right clicks it, it doesn't say "open with" it only says open and when he tries pressing open, it wont let him because he probably has a windows computer, I personnaly have the same problem, and when you get a windows pc, it doesn't come with WinRAR or 7-zip so we cant do anything special like get mods so that is why he needs help on how to download them onto his mnecraft folder.
