for .bob (not .bo2, though can be upgraded when necessary)
Edit: submitted to the BOB repository as Murphy's Oak
I'll continue to post .BOB objects and screenshots in this thread too since it's nice to be able to browse/preview objects before downloading them.
Edit: The code is now in spoiler tags.
A tall oak tree with large spreading branches. Spawns on grass.
(Looking forward to the "randomize orientation" feature to be implemented in .bo2!)
Update: Uploaded a .bo2 version (with randomize orientation enabled!) to the BOB repository. Right now it's got the default spawn frequency and collision, and spawns in all biomes.
Although Minecraft already has pine trees, the randomly generated ones tend to be sort of weird-looking. This is my attempt at a medium-size, classic-looking pine tree.

umm i've been trying to make some objects in bbob but they are all in bo2 files (which im pritty sure isnt compatible with the terrain mod yet) is there anyway to convert it to a bob file for the time being?

Under the "save as" options, and "save as type", choose Biome Object Builder in the drop-down menu instead of the default Biome Object Builder v2.
Edit: By the way, do people want me to stop posting on this thread until after a couple of other people have had a chance to post, or are any of you guys finding these useful? I've got a couple more trees (a pair of redwoods this time) that I could post, but I'd also be cool with waiting for a little.
Ok, then, with that encouragement, here goes another one!
Murphy's Redwoods
These are version .bob.
There are two of these redwoods, one a little bit taller than the other. These are slightly shorter than the redwoods in the old BiomeTerrainMod Alpha, and a lot less symmetrical - I was trying for a more natural look. They're still tall enough to be impressive, but not so tall that they dwarf actual mountains. They blend nicely with the default Minecraft pines, and look pretty in the snow.

Sorry to everyone to everyone that might think I'm stupid or something for this but here it goes. I just recently installed this mod, and All I', generating are outrageously tall trees. I want amazing mountainous terrain like the other pictures above... What can I edit in the properties file to make it do that? Or is it just randomly generated?

Ohmusama, just a small question. Is your avatar meant to resemble an Ohm from Nausicaa and the Valley Of the Wind, or do you not have a clue what i'm talking about. And yeah, i know, that was off-topic, but i'd like to know.

I've just downloaded the BOB Editor (RTB's) and I really want to make some cool objects to spawn, but... How the bloody hell does this thing work? ( I know, i'm very dumb. I don't know nothin' about coding and stuff. )
Maybe somebody could post a tutorial on how to use the editor?
That would be very nice.

Edit: Nevermind! I found the Better BOB Editor with the editing GUI, it's perfect!.
I would really know what BOB editor that is, because i can't see how to use this thing, there is no tutorial, other than how to make one BOB file, but i just want to use other peoples work. So can anyone help me please on these things?

The link is in the very first post in this thread. Once you make a .bob file (currently only the .bob format works, not .bo2, which will be implemented soon), put it in the BobPlugins folder in your Minecraft. If you want to use someone else's code, download them from the Bob Repository section of phoenixterrainmod.com. You can also copy and paste any of the settings from this thread, save them (using notepad or textedit, for example) as .bob, and put them in your BobPlugins folder.
This mod is great but I have an issue, Anything I make with better bob editer refuses to spawn, [yes I am saving in the proper .bob format fyi. :3] However, if I make it in BBob, and then import it into the other bob editer it will spawn, but it spawns WAY too many of them. [like spamtastic] and spawns them in strange places, like half in a mountain and such.
I am using this to make abandoned houses and broken down shacks and such, to make the world a little more... alive feeling. Seems strange for it to act like this. Is anyone else having these odd issues?
EDIT: Well I figured out how to fix most of my problem, but has anyone figured out how to get the mod to stop treating ALL BOBjects like trees? It's kind of annoying when it throws a bunch of things together and then drops a ruined house in the middle of a bunch of trees where they all cut into eachother. Strange....... -.-;

Hello everyone.
BOBv2 addresses most of these limitations, including supporting individual rarity. The format is now supported in the latest development preview. You have to dig for it a bit on my homepage but it does work pretty well (branches and grouping are broken atm). I just don't want absolute newbs downloading it just yet. :smile.gif:
See the homepage's first post for details on how to get it.

Try some of the settings in this thread http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1039&t=341574.
The shape of the terrain in particular is governed by the variables under "<Terrain Mod - Terrain Variables>" in the BiomeTerrainModSettings.ini file.
