1 (The big one). My buildings aren't being built, I've set priority to 70, I've tried with 200 but no difference. Why is this?
What's your Millenaire log file say?
If you're using a PC, you might be running in to the same problems I'm having - editing the text files (even using the recommended PSPad) sometimes somehow breaks them such that Millenaire can't read them. Some kind of Mac vs PC issue apparently.. I think it has something to do with spaces or line breaks.
If that's the case, you'll see errors in the log file saying something like "shelter_0: Floor 4 is 0 long, 10 expected." If you see that, it means Millenaire can't correctly read that file, so the building in question will never be built no matter the priority.
If there are no such errors.. do the villagers have enough materials to complete the first stage of the building? I think building priority only comes into play in deciding between buildings when there are more than one which they could currently finish.
I'm working on adding a basic shelter that I want to be the very first thing to be built so I have a safe place to sleep the first night. I set the priority to 1000, just to be sure it's the highest - but I discovered that the most important thing is that it's 100% dirt for the first stage. The villagers don't need any resources to make something out of dirt, so they should begin on the shelter immediately. But if I add a single torch to the building plan, which requires their having wood, they'll instead start building my 0 priority, but dirt-only, fishing pond.
So assuming you don't have any file errors, try setting priority to 1000 (Tavern priority is 500 as of the latest release) and they should begin building once you give them enough resources for the first stage.
I wanna try it really making my own buildings but i still dont get it completly. Is it possible that someone makes a vid tut? And the villagers will they search automaticly for enough space?
Ps iam dutch so sorry for the bad -ly words
i think They will make the land to build the building.

Sorry if it looks like i am spamming both of your threads. i am just trying to help so you wont have to reply to some of the obvious question you see and such. i have some errors as well but i believe it got hidden somewhere in the pages of your original thread but i think 2.2 fixed it so it doesn't matter.me myself tried making buildings to help you but got confused in huge parts of it.
Thank you.
I cant seem to get this building to work.
I want to replace the lumbermans hut with this. but it breaks the mod when I replace it. I even used PSPad!
Can some one tell me what Im doing wrong or at least convert this to somthing I could use?
so like i made this building but i cant get it to work and I'm wondering if it has something to do with the code so here it is could some one tell me what's wrong please

@cmoir:
can you please fix my building? It is supposed to replace the lumber jacks house but it just causes an error and stops the mod from running
lumbermanhut_0
darn, the entire point was to change the building size. the exact error I get is that when I start a map, it gives me a message saying to make sure that the building folders is in the other folder thats in that other folder or something
I know that I have it installled right, when I replace the new building with the old one it works fine
I also optimised it a bit for you, it should be quicker to build now (I deleted the left column, which was empty; on a second thought you might have needed it for the updates... Oh well, it isn't that big of an effort to put them back!).
I havn't tested it yet, but from what I see I think it will look pretty nice.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do that ill test it out right away

Bad idea: putting a coloseum right next to a christian church. SO, whos the wise guy?
ciberninja - I haven't messed with changing any of the core buildings yet, but I'll look into it and see if I have any different results.
I do still have problems, even with PSPad, however, related to the Mac/PC text file issue. Seems like mysterious, unremovable extra line breaks get stuck in my files such that Millenaire won't parse e.g. my third floor, thinking it 0 lines long.. and although the file looks perfect on my end, there's just nothing I can do short of starting with a fresh file to get rid of these extra mystery breaks. Makes it.. difficult on larger projects :sad.gif:

I decided to upload the world so you can have a look anyway. It's a miners home with a small pit-mine going down a few blocks.
Probably won't work, but I thought it might be nice. Sorry about not uploading it as a text file, I couldn't figure it out.
Map DL
i think They will make the land to build the building.
Looks good maybe add layers to ti so for
level 1 its wood ( when they create it ) and
level 2 cobble/wood
level 3 stone/fences so they wont fall in
oh and a tip i think you should make the door 2x2 since pathing is really hard and i dont think they will be able to go in and out really good.
It's not like it says it, in the original thread
