I would really love to use this mod, it looks *amazing*....
Except that every time I try to generate a new world after installing Minecraft stalls at the world generation screen then crashes to this;
Minecraft has crashed!

I was so looking forward to Pine Trees.
I don't touch gs.class... Are you using another mod?
Just checking to see how it's going. Have you made any progress on adding Cadde's Ore Veins mod code to this, (just the code for 1 layer flat bedrock, and for the ore veins themselvs), or for compatibility with said mod?
Laterz.
Based on the interest level, I guess I'll be integrating this next.
I think there's reasonable interest. Cadde abandoned it not too long ago, because she said she doesn't have time to update it, but she also posted all the code that she used, and explained how it worked so anyone can copy it and use it in their own mod. So luckily you won't have to make it from scratch. All the source code is being freely given out.
It would definitely be great for everybody if you picked it up and included it in your own mod, especially considering the basic concept of the two mods fit well together. If you don't know Cadde's mod, it basically makes ore veins rarer but also on average larger, with veins becoming larger in size (on average) the deeper they are below the point where you first start finding the ore type. Generally makes all ores except diamond harder to find, but more rewarding when you do find them (Diamond is mostly unchanged other than like a 1% chance to be twice as large as normal).
It also included a few other options, such as adding small underground lakes, and/or filling in all the holes in the bedrock and/or making the bedrock an absolutely flat single layer, with no bedrock in layers 2 through 4. The bedrock thing basically being the opposite of the option that your addon currently does.
I think it's easy to see why adding her code to yours fits well within the goal of your mod.
I confirm the bug with malfunctioning mechanics. I have this mod and ambient occlusion, but ambient occlusion alone shows no problems.
The main behavior that I can detect is that a pressure plate cannot open a door, it can only close it.
I am also noting anomalous behavior with redstone mechanics, this somewhat surprises me, specifically I couldn't get redstone wire to carry a charge from a redstone torch. I have no idea why this should be the case. Otherwise, I absolutely love this mod, and don't know if I can do without it now that I use it. But I do want my redstone to work :smile.gif:

Mod Installing Hack for Mac
Just add a folder name “MCPatches” to your ~/Documents/ folder.
Open inside AppleScript Editor for gritty details.
Followed the installation instructions to the word. But after I finish loading Minecraft, it just turns black.
Operating System?
Error Log?
Other mods installed?
etc.
Everyone with problems "followed the instructions". Except all of them still did something wrong, and it is very difficult to intuit what that is without additional diagnostics.
Since I don't know what Operating System you are on, I will assume it is unix based. So just run "unzip -l <path-to-minecraft>/bin/minecraft.jar".
If my assumption is wrong, use whatever voodoo you know to determine the contents of META-INF inside minecraft.jar.
Either way, chances are, that is the problem. Probably, not really enough information in your post to tell.

I didn't realize that was "abandonware" at this point. That makes it much easier to scoop up. I'll integrate all/most of that functionality as soon as I'm able, over the next few days.

I think she lost her will to continue working on it when she fixed it after the halloween patch, and in like 4 hours the 1.2.1 patch came out and shut down her mod again.
this wintry region goes on for acres and acres with a mix between flat, snowy tundra, frozen seas and hilly pine forests. it's damn beautiful. it's how biomes should look.
I find a biomeSize of 3.0 is a good balance for large environments that aren't inescapable.. seems to make them about the size of your average WoW zone
haven't run across any muddy swamps yet, but I'll keep looking. deserts are breathtaking, especially with the "dry" setting. I love the variety. can't wait to see what more you do with this!

Wickity, Redstone is broken in your mod, which is a deal breaker. Now, Cu.class is the redstone class - so you should probably look there for issues first.

Could I snag that pumpkin image from you.
OT: This is amazing, I'm going to install this the next time I'm on Minecraft (which wont be for a while because of this little thing called COD)
Btw, i found an incompatibility with Zan's Minimap Mod, found here.
With this mod installed, the game crashes after the Mojang-Logo.
He's using a patcher, so I don't know which classes he's modifying. Anyone using a patcher will be extremely "other" mod unfriendly, since it's doing work directly on bits, not classes.
I also haven't been able to make redstone work. I looked at it for a while today, but made no real headway. It's not that redstone doesn't work, it's that only certain aspects don't work. I can get doors to open directly from buttons, with redstone, and I can turn torches on and off, using buttons and pressure plates.
But, redstone torches don't seem to power anything, and pressure plates need to be up one level to work, which is very strange. I suspect it's the recompile/recompile cycle, more than any change that vie made, but it's hard digging through the mechanics.

Only HD texture fix...
However I also tried a vanilla Minecraft install + the terrain mod and it still went all crazy on me.
I suppose later when I have time I can try a 100% client remove/re-install.....

Yeah, I solved that problem myself, but I have not looked at the new version yet.

And how did you solve it?
I used meld, an absolutely awesome program, to combine the two files.
I then added the compatibility patch to my signature. Of course I have no way of guaranteeing that it will also work without Zan's Minimap.
Still haven't figure out how to make redstone work, which is slightly frustrating.
Oh and the link to the patch is http://www.mediafire.com/file/94sehwf02608s6p/gi.class.
