I've always seen people say just to replace something with something else, but the only way to do that is to decompress minecraft.jar. How do I get it BACK into a .jar? Compressing doesn't work.

Oh crap oh crap oh crap. I wanted to use the more worlds mod, and I replaced jq.class, made it a .jar named minecraft.jar and now It goes almost to the end and then stops when I try to open Minecraft. Help!

1. Hmm... I made a folder of Minecraft.jar.
2. I replaced jq.class (what was downloaded)
3. Tried to run. It failed.
4. Deleted MOJANG_C.*
5. Run minecraft. It failed.
6. Post this post.

He's on a mac, winzip and winrar aren't available for him. The most common method for installing mods on a mac is to extract the files, make the necessary adjustments, then recompress it using the jar command in terminal.

What is that?
It's in the Macintosh instructions for both Autocart and Risugami's mods.
I know where it is, and when I re-compress the folder, it becomes a zip.
Aha! It works! And no, I haven't really done anything, I was just seeing what would happen. Thanks!
MOJANG_C.*..... I dont have that in the META-INF folder. I have: MOJANG_C.DSA and MOJANG_C.SF.

Actually, it loaded this time, but right when it went to the menu, it crashed.
I was using the latest before it all went down. You what's even weirder? I just re-downloaded Minecraft, and it still fails...
