Modding now has its own IRC channel on esper.net, #risucraft, named after the most popular modder of Minecraft, at least, most popular on the Minecraft IRC.
Disclaimer: These modifications, which will be referred to as mods, are not mine, I did not make them; all credit for these mods goes to Risugami. These mods require altering minecraft.jar, and SMP may not work with these mods installed. Some of these mods add new content, do not load worlds with this new content if the respective mod is not installed. Risugami and I are not responsible for any damage done to your computer, worlds, or your copy of Minecraft. That said, backup your worlds and bin folder!
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why won't Elemental Arrows work?
-A: Likely you either forgot to install ModLoader, or the texture.
Q: How can I keep my custom item textures when using Elemental Arrows?
-A: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=47148&p=833844#p833844
Q: How come when I go to download from mediafire, the page just refreshes?
-A: Mediafire is currently moving the file from storage to the download server, wait a minute then try again. If it doesn't work then, use the Megaupload mirror.
Q: What is ModLoader?
-A: http://tiny.cc/PAIN
Q: Where is ModLoader?
-A: http://tiny.cc/PAIN
Q: How do I install ModLoader?
-A: http://tiny.cc/PAIN
Q: Why did you link me that image?
-A: Because you can't read. What part of "read this whole post" did you not understand?
Q: Why does my game freeze on the loading screen?
-A: The most likely answer is you forgot to delete META-INF, or your archive tool didn't want to delete it.
Q: Why does my game black screen?
-A: There are a number of reasons this could happen, the most likely is that you're trying to play alpha through the browser. Mods don't work with the browser version.
Q: Do these mods work with <insert older version here>?
-A: No, they are designed for the latest version, 1.2.0_02
Q: Why don't I have purple chunks when I install Slime Fix?
-A: Because Slime Fix doesn't make chunks purple, it fixes the spawning algorithm for slimes, and only does that. The purple was to show you how the algorithm was changed.
Q: The AudioMod description hurt my head, is there some kind of readme that explains it in better detail?
-A: Not yet, so, in the meantime, feel free to contact me about it in IRC, and I will help.
Q: How come when I installed ModLoader BetterGrass stopped working?
-A: Because BetterGrass also modifies ly.class, and installing ModLoader overwrote those changes.
Q: How come when I installed BetterGrass after installing ModLoader Minecraft crashes?
-A: See above, only BetterGrass is the one doing the overwriting now.
Q: How come 7z throws out "Not implemented" OR winRAR gives me an error when I try to add stuff to the jar?
-A: Likely you have used a texture pack installer that repacked the jar all wrong.
Q: Where did Furnace Bucket Fix go?
-A: Risugami is no longer updating Furnace Bucket Fix, as it is included in ModLoader, and it no longer works with the latest version of Minecraft.
Q: How do I uninstall the mods?
-A: You restore from a backup of minecraft.jar, and in case you didn't back it up, delete the version file in the bin folder, and Minecraft will redownload everything.
Q: How can I best contact you or Risugami?
-A: In the channel #risucraft, on the esper.net IRC.
Q: Why does it say General Minecraft Mod Discussion in the topic of #risucraft?
-A: Because the channel was made to help keep mod discussion out of #minecraft, in preparation for when the OPs there add a new rule against them, and start enforcing the rules again. It was named after Risugami simply because he is the most popular modder, at least, according to the IRC stats.
Q: Are you Risugami?
-A: No.
Q: Why did you make this thread, then?
-A: Because Risugami doesn't like writing walls of text.
Q: What if this FAQ doesn't solve my problem or answer my question?
-A: Then you can post, or contact us, preferably on IRC.

The Mods Light Sensor 1.11
The Light Sensor mod adds a new craftable block, that is a new input for redstone mechanisms. It turns on if it is hit with a sufficient amount of light. It is crafted with five redstone powder in a + shape, with four iron, one in each corner. Requires ModLoader. DownloadMirror
Elemental Arrows 1.42
The Elemental Arrows mod adds four new types of arrows; explosive arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, and a joke weapon, egg arrows.. They are crafted the same way as normal arrows, but the head is replaced based on the element; gunpowder for explosive, coak for fire, bucket of water for ice, and egg for, well, egg. Crafting an explosive arrow only gives you one arrow, and it explodes upon impact. Crafting a fire arrow gives you one arrow, that will ignite stuff upon impact. Crafting an ice arrow gives you four arrows, that will freeze water into ice, lava springs into obsidian, put out fire, and break torches. Egg arrows spawn chickens upon impact with the ground, but there's a secret too. Includes custom icons for the arrows! Requires ModLoader. To all fellow modders, we please ask you to stop extending upon these arrows. As it is, you're going to start having serious conflicts if you keep it up, or run out of space on items.png. More Stackables 1.11
This mod makes buckets and food stackable up to 16 in stack, saddles, doors, and signs up to 8 in a stack, minecarts and boats up to 4 in a stack. When stacked, food and buckets are unusable, however, everything else is. This is great for storage and for using workbenches, chests, or furnaces, as you no longer will dump the bucket or consume your food! DownloadMirror
More Worlds 1.01
This mod adds 5 more worlds to the singleplayer menu. DownloadMirror

Slime Fix 1.01
Fixes the spawning of slimes, from the random strips in which they will rarely spawn, to random chunks in which they're more likely to spawn, as Notch intended. (He switched the y and z axes in his calculation). DownloadMirror

ModLoader 1.11
A mod, kind of like a mod manager, that stops conflicts with mods that alter rendering(kx.class), recipes(dw.class), static references(di.class and ly.class), add entities(ew.class), smeltables or fuel. If you're a modder, feel free to decompile this and learn how to make mods work with it. Inherit BaseMod and override any functions as necessary. The mod's main class file should be prefixed with 'mod_'. DownloadMirror
Sign Tags 1.3
Type [time] into a sign, and it will show the current time. You can also type [x], [y], or [z] and find the current position of the sign in regards to that axis. [a|b] is a redstone input function for signs, where text replacing 'a' will be shown when the sign is powered, otherwise 'b' is shown. Type [light], and it will show you the current light level of the sign's position. [biome], [temp], [humid] each tell you the biome you're in, the temperature of that area, and the humidity of that area, respectively. DownloadMirror
Death Chest 1.02
When you die, if you have a chest in your inventory, it will be placed where you die, or in the closest available spot. The chest will be filled with as many items as possible. Items stored in the crafting slot are still lost, as usual, and any excess that won't fit in the chest will be dropped. DownloadMirror
AudioMod 1.01
AudioMod is an upgrade of sorts, and a modder's utility. Included in this mod is CodecIBXM, created by Paul at www.paulscode.com, who is the creator of the sound system used in Minecraft. It allows Minecraft to play-in addition ogg, wav and mus files-xm, s3m, and mod files. The only readily available feature of this mod is the ability to add new music, however, it adds support for modders to add new records and sound effects. There is a slight increase in load time when using this mod. Using this, you can also use custom sounds, alongside the originals. Custom music and sound goes into the resources folder, music in mod/music. Custom sounds go into mod/sound. For example, if I were to add a new footstep sound effect to stone, I'd put the new stone1.ogg in mod/sound/step. In game, the new sound would occasionally be played, alongside the originals. Custom sounds for things like the menu click and water do not always work, at the moment. DownloadMirror
Explosive arrows are used first, then fire, then ice, then normal. As for telling them apart, that is a bit of a problem. It is possible to make it use custom icons in items.png, but that could be a bit of a problem with texture packs.
The arrow mod sounds awesome..
A few suggestions though: Ice arrows should be crafted with a snowball as a tip, and fire arrows would make more sense with a torch or a piece of coal as a tip.
The main reason I wouldn't use such arrows though would be because I couldn't tell them apart, if it's possible it would be awesome if he added new custom items for the new arrow types down in the right corner of items.png.
Also, if you have all types of arrows in your inventory, which ones would be used?
I chose bucket of water because I wanted ice arrow to be obtainable in standard worlds too. Coal for fire arrows sounds like a good idea though.
I am always tinkering! I screw things up many times! WTH it feels good.
I cannot talk precisely/concisely straight to the point :| I take twists and turns make things complex just to tell a simple thing, it's my thing but again WTH I am open minded
ok well ****. I have a mac and tried to install the mod aaaaaaaand it broke my minecraft. I can't fix it. The good news is it was the copy on a diiferent computer than my own so it did not do any real damage. I however do not recommend trying to do these mods on a mac. I am currently trying another way on this thread (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=47929) and I need help
Awesome mods Risugami if you don't mind we would love to host these on our site. I imagine many people would really like to stack buckets as that is a real pain when they take up so much room.
PS. Explosive arrows = Rambo mode... I can't wait to fool around with this lol!
I just tested the Light Sensor. It looks like a pressure plate. However, it's not activated by stepping on it; instead, it seems to only work if it's struck with a certain level of sunlight. It doesn't activate on torchlight at night.
For Ice arrow? needs to maybe be Iron. Cold Steel, anyone?
