Let's doo tha time warp again!
Okay, now here's what you need:
1. NBT/MineEdit.
2. Cheat Engine.
3. A brain
4. A hotkey on your keyboard that you can mash quickly but don't use.
Notes:
You have to re-obtain the value every time you load a new level, meaning go through the process again to get the value of what time it is.
Step one:
Load the level you want to control the time in, and hit escape.
Step two:
Wait for Saving Level to go away.
Step three:
Open up NBT/MineEdit and find out what the time of day is.
Step four:
Search for this value in cheat engine.
Step five:
In the top-right hand corner of the cheat engine window, below the logo, click settings.
Step six:
Click on hotkeys.
Step seven:
Click "Next Scan-Increased Value"
Step eight:
Click the text box and press the key you don't use, and exit.
Step nine:
Go back to minecraft, click back to game, and spam that hotkey, leaving the window small enough so you can see the cheat engine adress list to the side of it.
Step ten:
Keep spamming it until there's one address left in the list.
Step eleven:
Double click that address.
Step twelve:
Set it to:
0 - Morning
3031 - Sun rising
6062 - Sun at Noon
9094 - Sun setting
12125 - Moon coming up.
15156 - Moon rising
18187 - Moon at 12:00 AM
18519 - Moon setting.
OR
Freeze it to freeze time.
Here's a challenge for you: Using only NBTEdit and the old /indev/, see if you can turn a normal map into a Paradise map where it's always noon. No cheat engine required.

If I remember right, making an indev map into permanent daytime required setting the brightness value to negative or higher than the normal scale allowed or something like that. Also, it's a moot point because who the hell bothers to play indev anymore?

Nope. Nobody figured out how to change the permanent noon setting on indev maps. That's why it's a challenge. With any luck, the same can be applied to the newer maps.

No, I was right. If you open an indev map in NBTEdit and set the SkyBrightness value to 16, the sun stops moving and it's permanent daytime. Just tested it myself.

For what reason? Noone uses /indev/ anymore.
It's a challenge. I don't think you can do it.
