I am really interested in programming minecraft mods/plugins. I know java pretty well, I am just not sure on how to learn to code specifically for minecraft. Where is a place that I could learn how to do this?

Please don't PM me to ask for help or to join your mod development team. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future. I'm not interested in developing mods with people.
I link to some other good tutorial sites from my page as well. I personally learn programming best from written tutorials, so that is what I provide. There are also a number of video tutorials out there if that is better way for you to learn.
The only thing I'd also say is to not start too ambitiously. Many modders start with some idea to create some significant modifications, but honestly you'll need to be satisfied with simply adding a simple block, or entity, or item type mod at first.
If you want to learn plugins, might be better to go to... whatever forum is about plugin making (CraftBukkit? I don't even know). Most of the helpers here only bother with Forge these days.
