Hi all!
When I try to decompile, recompile or run a client gives me an error (see screenshot). If I change / delete / add new files to the game, when you start Minecraft does not change anything. If the file "client / gui / GuiIngame" I'll change "Minecraft 1.5.1" to "Test 1.5.1", then after a recompile and run the game I see the inscription "Minecraft 1.5.1".
Help to solve this problem! At version 1.4.7, 1.2.5, 1.3.1, etc. this problem nebilo! He appeared on the version 1.5!
Spamming help me won't do any good, I'm afraid. just go to your java JDK installation directory(it should returns with a version number). then you copy that dir url. then right click computer, and select properties. go to advanced system settings, on the tab advanced there should be an option for environmental variables. Click on it, then at system variables press new. use JAVA_HOME as the name and the installation directory url as the value of the variable. click ok, now look up Path in the system variables select and click edit. Go all the way to the end of the variable value and add a ; then once again paste in the java jdk installation directory url but don't forget to add \bin after it. keep clicking ok until you have no screens left. There you go, you just set your path.
I added as you said,
And I added the path:
But the error is all the same remains. As it is now possible to remove? (I have Windows 7 x64)
It can not be that I'm the one person on earth who has this problem. I pointed out all the way to the PATH and installed JDK 7u25. What's the problem again? What is the general "scalac"???
I would like to point this out, I have been modding for a little while now, I have ALWAYS had that error, but it has never actually done anything at all. My mods work fine and recompile/reobfuscate fine. I have no problems at all. In my opinion, its an arbitrary error that can be ignored.

if you don't code in scala, that "error" is irrelevant. it does nothing. if you're only coding in java, whatever problem you're having (i don't understand what you said) is not related to scala
That's not a problem at all... it just means your mod doesn't use scala code, it's the equivalent to the "error message" it gives when it says it can not find server sources. Your actual problem is probably something very different.

I had the same problem but i had fixed it... I just keep clicking 'install' in forge folder and I am now working a mod in 1.6.2
I've got the same problem, does anyone know how to fix it?
Scala is a programming language. You are programming in Java, not Scala, so the message about not finding a Scala installation on your computer is irrelevant to you. You don't have any Scala files, because you're not programming in Scala, your programming in Java.
...Message repeats...
You are programming in Java, not Scala. You haven't made any Scala files for a Scala compiler ("scalac") to compile. So it doesn't matter that it can't find a Scala compiler. Ignore the confusing and possibly self-promoting message about Scala.

The Scala compiler "scalac" is not on your path because you are programming in Java, not Scala, and so probably haven't installed a Scala compiler. Most people haven't even heard of Scala, let alone written code in it.
This error is normal if you do not have the Scala SDK installed. Forge adds in the option for modders to program their mods in alternate languages that base off of the JRE, Scala being one. If you do not wish to make your mod in Scala, which I recommend not doing as it's just another thing you must worry about, then you don't need to worry about this error.

My five-point rating system: Yay, kay, meh, erm, gleh
Scalac isn't there and I can't successfully decompile.
