Ok, so I want to switch over to Forge ModLoader instead of just regular old ModLoader because I have run out of item sprites. (Minecraft only allows 256). So, I make a mcp folder, but a clean bin and resources folders into /jars, then extract the forge modloader source zip into /<mcp-dir>/forge. Next I type "cd ~/Desktop/mod" and "chmod +x install.sh" to make forge's installer executable. (I am on ubuntu linux.) Then, I run the install.sh file. It puts a bunch of output into a terminal. I followed the exact instructions to set up a project with netbeans, and I get an error saying that the package cpw.mods.fml.common.Side doesn't exist, as well as cpw.mods.fml.common.asm.SideOnly. This error occur in almost every file. I have no idea how to fix this problem.
Did you put fernflower.jar and minecraft_server.jar in jars folder?
Thanks for your help, but no thanks.
The problem was (for anyone stumbling upon this post, is that in netbeans you have to make to different folders for the source code, you cannot just import "<mcp-dir>/src", you have to import "<mcp-dir>/src/minecraft" and "<mcp-dir/src/common" seperately. If you use netbeans and are having the same problem, see this link: http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/NetBeans, and download the pre-made project file.
