EDIT: I installed the minimap first then later the world map and I am seeing my waypoints in The End even when I'm in the overworld. I think this is from the minimap because the world map doesn't have the waypoint feature.

Thank you for reporting! Will be fixed in the next update. Also, you might be forced into safe mode from what I see on the screenshot.
EDIT: Are you sure you didn't just change the world to The End in the waypoints GUI? I don't have the same issue as you + it doesn't seem possible.

Btw, i recreated my waypoints in the end, overworld, and in the nether and they all appear in all the dimensions (see attachments). I did this twice just to be sure and the results are the same. Anyways this doesn't bother me that much, I just want to report this so you can make it even better. I still like the minimap and world map mod so keep up the good work!

Can you please make a screenshot of the waypoints GUI (press U) and PM it to me? And a screenshot of the mods/XaeroWaypoints folder would be nice too

Guessing this is possible by going into the Xaero's world map folder on the mods page and doing something with the save files - but some say null and some don't and I'm confused about which to replace with which.

Help really appreciated, please and thank you!

The ones that say null are from overworld, others are for other dimensions.
Is the folder name for the world backup a different one to the original world folder? Rename it to the original name and everything should be back.

I am using xaero's worldmap b1.7

b1.7 is not compatible with the latest version. I will release b1.7.1 ASAP.

In other news:
Soon going to start working on b1.8. Hoping to finish all world map features by/in february and finally end beta

It's a bug. What servers are you talking about? And which view are you talking about? The minimap or the fullscreen?

You need to install Xaero's Minimap and create a waypoint there.

Teleporting by clicking isn't very straight-forward but I might do it in the future.
Imagafiles? Check if you have any error output in the client logs. Also, which Minecraft version are you using?

Update b1.8 (MC 1.11.2, 1.11, 1.10.2, 1.10, 1.9.4, 1.8.9, 1.7.10):

+ Added a waypoint side-menu to the map view GUI. You can now view all off-screen waypoints by placing the cursor in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Select a waypoint in the side-menu by using the mouse scroll wheel and then right-click to quickly move the map view to the selected waypoint. No more unnecessary map scrolling
* Fixed chunks sometimes loading to incorrect worlds from the same server (AKA the world overrriding issue).
* Compatibility with the server-side waypoint Spigot plugin (minimap mod still required).
* Fixed compatibility with FastCraft.
* Improved stability.
