Just curious.. have you had any luck getting a proper config file for Biomes O' Plenty? I would love to use this mod in my modpack in place of MAtmos, but I am not sure I will have the time to set all the configs right for all of the biomes.

No sadly the guy hasn't sent me anything yet. I might do it on my one, i will inform you once there is something.
Loving the mod, but still playing on 1.7.10. could you perhaps update that to current [because I want the Biomes O Plenty compatibility] or is it possible to move that config from 1.9 to 1.7.10 with no problem?

You can install the newest AmbientSounds version for 1.9 and copy the config to your 1.7.10 version, but keep in mind that v0.1 hasn't all of the sounds used. There have been a couple of issues with loading sounds in 1.7.10, that's why i'm not really willing to backport it (would make loading even longer).
Amazing mod dude! Reminds me so much of MATMos! Do you think you could do a mod like presence footsteps mod? Or something along those lines? And also do you think you could do something along the lines of how matmos did with the switching of items where you could hear a noise and when you swing your hand it made a noise? That would be so amazing! But I can understand if you don't want to do something like that. Anyways heres to a great looking mod! Wish you the best of luck in the future CreativeMD

AmbientSounds uses another system than Matmos did. It's NOT a copy and I also don't want to copy things from another mod. You should find Matmos ports for 1.8 & 1.9 online somewhere, also Presence footsteps should be updated already.
I really like this mod but had to disable the cricket sound in the daylight plains super loud and constant I can't be the only one that finds it very over baring.

I will add a config option for this in the config file where you can determine the default volume of each sound.
This is great since Matmos was abandoned! I too find the cricket sounds in the plains biome to be extremely loud and out of place, as well as annoying.

I like the mod. It has a nice concept. But the way it checks for which sound to play is bugging me somewhat.
I think it should check if the biome is nearby, and play the sound quieter than when you are in the said biome.
For example I'm in a forest biome and walk into river biome sound effects change with a fade but I don't want that. It should play both Forest and River biome sounds as they are CLOSE to each other.
If it would be possible to make this mod more like MAtmos when I would definitely use it for normal game.
In Biomes O' Plenty, I was in a Redwood Forest biome and heard thunder and rain sounds (It was not raining in game). I could have been near a cave and that's why it would make those noises, due to the bug I am going to mention in the next sentence. And here is the bug- I hear thunder in caves. What's up with that? I think you might have used some wrong sounds.
I was also in a Lush Swamp biome and there were no sounds.

Thank you very much hope it does it's job.

EDIT: I did it myself, but it's untested.

It's already working. I tested it, the newest version for 1.9.4 is also working for 1.10.

@TaintedLion
Just drag it into your mods folder, after you have installed Forge.
Released v1.1.3
I just opened the zip and copied the plains night sound and renamed it to the day one the night sound is much better
Thanks and you can change the volume of each sound in the config file separately if you wish to.

You can configure it.
Oh, that shouldn't happen, i have no idea why this is happening, because it does work for me.
Added to my todo list
I get sound in the ocean but it seems to cut off pretty quickly and doesn't loop its kind of like splashing water sound
I'm already on it.
