JurassiCraft is a mod made to bring prehistoric creatures to the world of Minecraft. It is inspired by Jurassic Park, but is not limited to all JP canon: as many creatures and features as possible will be added! Creatures are made Jurassic Park style, by obtaining fossils or amber, using the fossils or amber to create DNA, inserting the DNA into eggs, and hatching the eggs. The mod recently merged with two other mods, entitled the Bygone Age Mod and the Fossil Hunting Mod, which will bring users a more complete modded-Minecraft experience.

Rules laid out by forum moderator; Lord_Ralex:
1) Page claiming is not allowed. This is spam and does not add any value to the thread. Do not do it.
2) We do not tolerate profanity. I have seen enough of it to know that clearly the rules were never read, because they are clear on this.
3) Flaming users is unacceptable, and is also not tolerated.
4) Calm, rational discussions are fine, but they need to remain on the thread's topic (in this case, the Jurassicraft mod). Discussing other stuff is off-topic, and can result in warnings/post removal.

Fossil Ore- drops a fossil(iron rarity) and can be mined with an iron pick or higher
Amber Ore- drops amber(diamond rarity) and can be mined with an iron pick or higher
Dna extractor- extracts DNA from fossils but you won't always get DNA you might get sand, stone, or bone instead
Cultivator- converts your DNA into an egg for you to hatch into a baby prehistoric creature
Dna Combinator: combines DNA that is below 100% to allow players to clone dinosaurs

Incubator:
For Amber Ore and Ice Shard Ore, once you find them, you immediately mine them, and get the Mosquito in Amber (You get Terrestrial and Avian DNA from this), Aphid in Amber (You get Plant DNA from this), or Sea Lampreys (You get Aquatic DNA from this) within. You then take those, along with an empty Storage Disc, and put it in the DNA Extractor. Now, you will get a Storage disc with an animal's genetic makeup on there. Sometime later in these instructions, Storage Discs will dome up again. follow those instructions to use the Storage Disc from amber or Sea Lampreys. Once you find fossils, put Plaster on them, then mine, and put them in the Cleaning Station with Water. You take the skull you get from that, and put it in the Fossil Grinder. That will give you either Flint, Bone-Meal, or Soft Tissue of the animal. You then take the soft tissue, and put it in the DNA Sequencer with a Storage Disc. The genetic code of the Soft Tissue is then transferred onto the Storage Disc. More likely than not, you will have a very small amount of DNA from this. You must get multiple of these Storage Discs with the Genetic Code on it, and take them to the DNA Combinator. This is where you combine the Storage Discs until you get one with 100% of the animal's DNA. You then take the Storage Disc with the animal's full genetic code on it, and insert it into the DNA Synthesizer. You must also insert an Empty Test Tube and DNA Nucleotides in there as well, in order for it to begin the transformation into DNA. Once you get the DNA, you take it to the Embryonic Machine. That machine requires you to have an Empty Syringe, a Petri Dish, and of course, the DNA of the animal. You will then get the Embryo of the animal. Then you go to the Embryo Calcification Machine, and put in regular Chicken eggs in the bottom slot, and your embryo in the top slot. The embryo will be inserted into the egg, and you will get an egg of the animal. Then, you take it to the Incubator. You put sand in the bottom slot of the incubator, and your egg in one of the slots above. You then have the ability to choose the gender for your animal before it hatches. Yellow is low, and for a female, and red is high, for a male. Before they hatch, you must have a cage in a 2x2 radius around the Incubator in order for the animal to go into there, and not to escape in the area you made it. Once the animal is in the cage, you left click the cage to pick it up with the animal inside. You then take it to the animal's enclosure/paddock, place the cage on the ground, and right click to let the animal loose.

Unlike the Incubator, you can not select gender here. This is for animals that give live birth, and is the only option for them. However, if you feel as though selecting your gender is unneeded, and you wish to save time, you can also insert a Dinosaur embryo, or an embryo of any animal that usually lays eggs.

Extra-Special thanks to TheHippomaster21 for the animation api for which has allowed the many amazing animations that we've made so far.
Also extra-special thanks to wedhro for the textures he contributed :), you may find a link to his texture pack here!
Before downloading and using the pre-release version for Minecraft 1.8, please be aware that the build is unstable and likely contains many bugs. We're warning you, don't use JC2 pre-release on old worlds. Everything will likely be corrupted. If you are really desperate to, then take a backup first. You have been warned, we are not responsible for any broken worlds.
im so glad i can finally join the thread of this mod, i absolutely love it, and i almost had a heart attack when i saw the old thread locked, x.x but i found the new one. ive also been meaning to say that. for some reason my Jurassicraft mod crashes when ever i close the minecraft client, ive had to download 1.4.0 every day, it runs fine the first time i run it after download, but if minecraft closes and starts up again, the mod has an error , at frst i blamed the other 38 mods i had, but it does the same even if jurassicraft is the only mod i have (excluding LLib, which i do have) at first i didnt know weither to report it, or just wait it out for 1.4.1, if you guys need, i can get both crash reports, one with the other 38 mods, and one with just LLib and jurassicraft
Awesome! Btw, the blocks and items from the Bygone Age and Fossil Hunting mod should be merged into the JurassiCraft tabs, as they don't need their own separate creative tabs.

I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!

My nine Parasaurolophus just disappeared. Could something like this happen from too many mobs in roughly the same area? I was hatching Hypsys in the pen next to it when they despawned.

By associating a project with this license, the author(s) assert copyright on the project and all of its associated assets. All users must adhere to the terms that follow. Should the user fail to adhere to the terms set forth in this document, the project author reserves the right to take action and enforce this license to the fullest extent of the law.
[Section 2. Liability] This project is provided 'as is' with no warranties, implied or otherwise. The author(s) of this project takes no responsibility for any damages incurred from the use of this project . This project alters fundamental parts of the Minecraft game, parts of Minecraft may not work with this project installed. All damages caused from the use or misuse of this project fall on the user.
[Section 3. Distribution] This project may only be distributed via links initially provided to the public by the project author(s) unless direct permission is obtained from the project author(s). Only the original link or link(s) approved by the project author(s) may be used for download – any locations that offically approved link(s) redirect to may not be provided to the public unless permission is obtained from the project author(s). See section 4 for exemptions.
[Section 4. Third Party Packages] This project may not be bundled or packaged with other third party packages or modpack unless official consent of the author(s) is obtained. Approved third party packages must provide credit to the project author and provide a link to an information site owned or maintained by the project author. The third party package must be strictly not-for-profit, and may not generate revenue of any kind, including sales, website advertising, URL shortener advertising, donations, etc. The sales of services that create a third party package containing this project are considered legal when approved by the project author(s). A third party package utilizing this project must not make any modifications to the project’s code, file structure, binaries, or assets, or bundle a modified version of this project within the third party package. All troubleshooting for this project within any third party package is solely the responsibility of the owner of the third party package.
[Section 5. Source Code] The source code of this project, if provided, is made available for educational purposes only. It shall remain externally visible yet only modifiable by the project author. This project is proprietary software and as such neither it, its source code, nor its byte code may be modified and recompiled for public use. The project author(s) may choose to incorporate private modifications of this project’s source code into the publically available build should it be requested by the author of the modified code. However, modified code that has not been merged into the publically available build cannot be redistributed to the public in any form. Author(s) that submit modified code that is later added into the publically available build release all rights to the code under the terms that they are credited via in-code documentation and any other methods of credit/thanks deemed appropriate by the project author. Code submitted and merged in this manner is then bound by this license.
[Section 6. Modification] Any modification of this projects’s code or binaries made by persons other than the author is strictly forbidden from public distribution. Texture packs and resource packs are welcomed and encouraged, but may only contain the modified textures and/or sounds. You cannot distribute a copy of this project with the texture/resource pack already installed.
[Section 7. Contribution] All assets contributed by an individual to a project using this license becomes property of the project author(s). No assets including those contributed by any individual may be removed, reverted or modified from the project without consent of the project author(s). However an individual retains the rights to recreate and enhance any ideological, non-tangible, or non-digital contributions, using non-project assets, only when the individual is determined to have originally contributed the material in question and at the approval of the project author(s), unless other specific permission is obtained.
[Section 8. Reproduction] Any reproduction of this project into another product, digital or physical, is considered copyright infringement and is strictly forbidden unless otherwise approved by the project author. This includes implementing only select aspects of the project into the new product. Implemented aspects can be similar, but not the same, determined at the project author's discretion. Any products produced using the ideas that this project is founded upon may not use the original project name, in part or in full, or an acronym adopted by the project unless approved by the project author. Doing so without approval is considered copyright infringement.
[Section 9. Project End-Of-Life] This project is said to reach its end-of-life in the event that all authors associated with the project discontinue their involvement in a public statement. In the event that a central author or manager is unable to maintain the project due to unforeseen circumstances, up to and including death, all remaining authors must vote to decide the future of the project . In the event that all authors publically discontinue their involvement in or are no longer able to participate in the development of this project , the project is released into the public domain. In the event that no public declaration of the project end-of-life is made within 1 year after the previous update, announcement regarding status, or official statement from an author, the project is released into the public domain.

However, if you feel as though selecting your gender is unneeded, and you wish to save time, you can also insert a Dinosaur embryo, or an embryo of any animal that usually lays eggs.

i love jurassicraft
im so glad i can finally join the thread of this mod, i absolutely love it, and i almost had a heart attack when i saw the old thread locked, x.x but i found the new one. ive also been meaning to say that. for some reason my Jurassicraft mod crashes when ever i close the minecraft client, ive had to download 1.4.0 every day, it runs fine the first time i run it after download, but if minecraft closes and starts up again, the mod has an error , at frst i blamed the other 38 mods i had, but it does the same even if jurassicraft is the only mod i have (excluding LLib, which i do have) at first i didnt know weither to report it, or just wait it out for 1.4.1, if you guys need, i can get both crash reports, one with the other 38 mods, and one with just LLib and jurassicraft

I was hatching Hypsys in the pen next to it when they despawned.
thank you :3
I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the old thread was locked.
Hey guys, can someone upload screenshots?
