I need help. When i create a world, the mod doesn't work. I tried it, and nothing happened on the fourth day. I looked in the mod options setting and it said "Test 1 Test 2 Disabled". (BTW i selected the apocalypse and everything).
I pushed the button that said "Enable" and it turned to "Disable". Does that mean i enabled it? Also, are there any commands that will speed up the apocalypse?
In the same vein as the Lunar apocalypse, there could be one just for flooding, where you have to find very high, mountainous areas to settle in before the world floods to a certain height and reduces lots of them to tiny islands. That could be cool when paired up with Biomes O'Plenty.
Or another scenario could be an overpopulation of villagers and hardly any food available, meaning that sometimes the villagers fight and kill each other or the players, so the objectives would be to A: not get killed by villagers right away, and B: make a farm with what little resources are available and give villagers food, which will eventually reduce their hostility? The farm would have to be secluded somewhere so the villagers can't just steal whatever little you have at the start. That sounds kind of complicated, but it could be pretty cool.
There are currently no commands to alter the apocalypse stage. The data is stored in the worlds NBT, I'm not sure if any tools exist that can change those values.
I think a lot of people still use 1.7.10 now, because there are plenty of big mods that haven't completely updated to 1.8, like the Aether, Tropicraft, Custom NPCs, Galacticraft, and probably many others. Once more mods start updating, then it would be a good idea to qtop backporting.
I have a download for the 1.2.5 version of SA, if you wnat to take a look at the code, PM me and I'll send it to you.
Might I also suggest a config file that would disable the apocalypse on dimensions OTHER than the Overworld? I set up a role play where my character built a ship to excape the apocalypse, and set up a new civilixzation on a Galacticraft planet in another solar system, and I was confused whtn everything was on fire at first, so I had to delete the config file when I go back to the other planet, and restore it form the recycle bin when I got back to Earth. I found it very cumbersome, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make an option like that, would it?

It is not possible to do that in code.

Any errors? Are you sure you enabled the apocalypse before entering the world? Did you wait before complaining (the effects are not immediate)?
I need more information than that.

Well i had set the time to night, then to day, and kept going until day 4, and nothing was happening.
The phase is set with the time.
If you want to accelerate the effects, first you need to do some math, in this case 24000 * the phase you want.
Then use /time set <numberFromStepOne> (not time add)
For the final phase use /time set 96000.

Will you keep doing 1.7.10 backports? Because I'm sure a lot of people haven't upgraded to 1.8 yet. D:
I'm not sure.
Since I plan on adding blocks backporting will become more difficult with each version.

with the new 1.8.x forge versions, more mods will update and the need for older versions/backports will deplete.
i played 1.8.x so many months now and i'm used to how the worlds look, that i can't go back to 1.7.x
so i rather play unmodded than with an older mc version.

Mojang introduced this weird json block rendering in 1.8.x, which pretty much ensures no big mods are updating anytime soon.
Buildcraft's authors said they needed
petabytesexabytes of jsons to do rendering for their pipes.Click Here to view my WIP Mod!

Well, I certainly hope they roll that back in 1.9.
PETABytes? Are you serious! O_o That's a billion megabytes! That's an entire section of the Internet Archive!
There's no WAY it could be messed up bad enough that they'd need that many JSON files... right?
They have said it here. I don't think we'll be seeing many mods pass 1.7 if Mojang keeps this up.
I made a mistake. It should be exabytes of json files.
