Nice! One suggestion though, why not make it a slider with labels for certain scales? Like the brightness scale is a percentage, but it still says Moody, etc.
Updated patch, now support only 1.8. added XXHDPI (250%) and XXXHDPI (300%) support.
About slider. Because changes applies instantly, add slider impossible. Add button + and - are hard, because GUI are hardcoded.
This mod may be not compatible with Optifine. I want patch, not simple mod files. I published patch file, but required MCP. For 1.7.10 you can just simply change some lines in source code. If you experience user, just use coding method.

Mod updated! New numerical scales.
Care to explain how to install all this? I would really use something like this. Thanks.
Need replace files in jar file of Minecraft. Need 1.8 version. Also you can build for any version.
This mod (hack) unlock scales by default:
200% (2x "Normal")
250% (2.5x "Normal")
300% (3x "Normal" or 2x "Large")
Next will unlocks:
350%
400%
450%
500%
550%
600%
etc. by 50% increasing
Sorry for delay. No, this mod impossible to make with Forge without gui scaling API in Forge.
Need patch client.
