The Gears N' Clouds Mod adds that new steampunk vibe to Minecraftia! With airships
and robot companions planned for the future, the Gears N' Clouds Mod is something
amazing.
- Do you have luck on your side today? Go for a mining session and see if you can find the three new ores: Brass Ore (Yes, it is an ore now), Nexite Ore and the Rusty Iron Ore.
- Whaddaya buyin'? Whaddaya sellin'? Go look for the new mob, The Steampunker, in the taiga biome. He could sell you useful items from this mod.
- Craft the almighty human crafter and disassemble & rebuild your character into a cyborg! Currently not working...
- Decorate your house with some decorative gear accessories, like the Gear Lamp.
- Got to achieve them all! Get all of the achievements!
- Too lazy to do things for yourself? Build a machine that does it for you!

The Ruster is a new machine that gives you accessibility to rusty iron, even if you disabled the ore in the config file. The recipes for this new machine is down below.

Is this at start up? What version of Forge are you using? Any other 1.8 mods installed?
Hmm... I would suggest trying the recommended forge version, 11.14.3.1450. I tried it and it works completely fine. Maybe there was an error with that version.
1. Could there be config options on all the ores please?
2. Why is rusty iron an ore, for what purpose could you possibly want rusty iron? If you need rusty iron, I suggest adding a machine that turns iron into rusty iron instead of mining it.
3. Also, I should warn you, don't do fully customizable airships until you are better at modding, that sort of thing is not easy to do and for now we can all be content with Archimedes ships.

2. The rusty iron ore does have a purpose. Sure it is an ugly-lookin armor, have nasty potion effects and such, but the sword does give out 4 potion effects useful in combat. And on the suggestion for that machine, do you mean a machhine turning rusty iron into iron, because the other way around wouldn't be very useful (also, the rusty iron will be getting it's own sorta unique weapon in the next update, so stay tuned)

The recipe will be changed for next update in a similar (or exactly the same) way as you described. The machine would be a nice addition, but I am considering if I should remove the ore, giving the mod a bit of a excitement. And lastly, any specific industrial mod or multiple ones? Still a noob on the industrial mods, so I don't know which mods turn ores to dust to ingots. Also, the ore doubling mechanic, do you mean sorta like cloning the ore? Because I want to remind you, this should stay a steampunk mod. There'll be no teleportation or cloning. Just steampowered robots and (hopefully) airships.
Ore doubling isn't cloning the ore, the idea is that by grinding it first you are processing it more efficiently and wasting less of the metal, so you get more ingots per ore, so it isn't really cloning. Many tech mods have things like that, but I suggest just bothering with thermal expansion for now.
Alright, I'll try to add compatability with the Thermal Expansion mod, and I'll get on to the Rusting Engine (the machine that turns iron to rusty iron) as soon as I figure out the config.

Ruster
The Ruster is a new machine that gives you accessibility to rusty iron, even if you disabled the ore in the config file. The recipes for this new machine is down below.

All other armor and tool recipes are the same. All 'collection blocks' (Nexite Block, Brass Block, Rusty Iron Block) is created by putting 9 of them in a 3x3 crafting table.

Is this at start up? What version of Forge are you using? Any other 1.8 mods installed?
Ya, it's at startup. I was using the 1.8 version of forge. More specifically 8.0.86.1102. This mod was the only one in the mods folder.
Hmm... I would suggest trying the recommended forge version, 11.14.3.1450. I tried it and it works completely fine. Maybe there was an error with that version.
1. Could there be config options on all the ores please?
2. Why is rusty iron an ore, for what purpose could you possibly want rusty iron? If you need rusty iron, I suggest adding a machine that turns iron into rusty iron instead of mining it.
3. Also, I should warn you, don't do fully customizable airships until you are better at modding, that sort of thing is not easy to do and for now we can all be content with Archimedes ships.
4. Why is there cocoa beans in the rope recipe, that doesn't really make sense?
5. You have quite a few features already in that aren't working like the steampunker, I suggest you get what you already have working first before moving on to more complex new additions.
6. Could you make mod compatibility such as grinding ores into dusts in other mod's machines?
I hope this helps, I'm interested as there aren't many (any) good steampunk mods currently.

2. The rusty iron ore does have a purpose. Sure it is an ugly-lookin armor, have nasty potion effects and such, but the sword does give out 4 potion effects useful in combat. And on the suggestion for that machine, do you mean a machhine turning rusty iron into iron, because the other way around wouldn't be very useful (also, the rusty iron will be getting it's own sorta unique weapon in the next update, so stay tuned)
3. It is just an idea, this mod is heavily inspired by Guns of Icarus Online, so airships will be making an apperance in the not-so-near future.

6. Yes I did, and the purpose is that in industrial mods you can grind ores into 2 dusts each, then cook each dust into an ingot, so you end up with 2 ingots from one ore. I was suggesting adding an ore doubling mechanic with your ores, even if it's just in other mod's machines.

The recipe will be changed for next update in a similar (or exactly the same) way as you described. The machine would be a nice addition, but I am considering if I should remove the ore, giving the mod a bit of a excitement. And lastly, any specific industrial mod or multiple ones? Still a noob on the industrial mods, so I don't know which mods turn ores to dust to ingots. Also, the ore doubling mechanic, do you mean sorta like cloning the ore? Because I want to remind you, this should stay a steampunk mod. There'll be no teleportation or cloning. Just steampowered robots and (hopefully) airships.

Ore doubling isn't cloning the ore, the idea is that by grinding it first you are processing it more efficiently and wasting less of the metal, so you get more ingots per ore, so it isn't really cloning. Many tech mods have things like that, but I suggest just bothering with thermal expansion for now.
Alright, I'll try to add compatability with the Thermal Expansion mod, and I'll get on to the Rusting Engine (the machine that turns iron to rusty iron) as soon as I figure out the config.

The rust iron sword does not take durability damage from attacking mobs

Nemo's lamp and Gear lamp emit light level 14, while glowstone, which is used in the recipe, is light level 15

Ore dictionary the brass so that it can be used interchangeably with other mod's brass

-add power sources for machines based on steam(Heat+H20)
-add pipes to deliver electricity to other machines
-add armors made of brass and other steampunk things that converts you to a beast but has lower enchantability and protection
-add upgrades for the armor
-add 3d steampunk guns(I like 3d items )
-add a new biome called Junkyard,it looks like apocalypse with dead trees and ruins which contains junks or materials that this mod needs
-make the robots programmable to make it more useful like farming,mining and other things
-make a ridable robot
