Cool. I hadn't tried anything but Generation so far... I am thinking that This Mod, plus the OreGen mod, plus HardcoreDarkness, plus Deathways all without any sleep mod, would make for a pretty but challenging map.
I got confirmation that Achimedes Ships won't ever see 1.8 unless I learn to code, or find someone else who will..... the Modder said it is open source and shared in his GitHub.... I really want a steampunk/adventure world, so I may have to put effort in.... LOL
Yes, I'm wokring to fix that too. It's an artifact in my perlin noise algorithm.

For some reason, running gradlew build in my Mineralogy project is not reobfuscating anymore. I reinstalled Forge twice (two different versions: 1.8-11.14.0.1273 and 1.8-11.14.0.1281) and it still isn't converting the method .setHardness(F) (in class cyano.mineralogy.blocks.Rock) into whatever the obfuscated name is supposed to be.
Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble recompiling/reobfuscating their mods? I know it was working two weeks ago!

Aaaand today the compiler is working again. I have done nothing since yesterday (I didn't even reboot my computer). How odd.

I've added some translation files (Chinese translation provided by GitHub user Ghost) and fixed bugs related to recipes and world gen (specifically those annoying lines you see in GrimmLiberty's map).

Thank you kindly. So far I have told a lot of people to use this mod. Hopefully you get the Rep you deserve.
[EDIT]
Though I am sorry to report it didn't help. Put in the new mod and did a re-gen.... results were the same. Thanks for trying at least.
Okay, I apparently had fixed it for areas where both X and Z coordinates are negative. The new new update (v2.2.3) has now fixed it for all coordinates. I tested it with an all-stone superflat world and it looks good now.

I am running a few mods on 1.8 and now I'm trying to track down which mod is doing a few strange effects.
First is speed. I started punching a tree and killing a few mobs and everything looked sped up. Mining too. I don't mean a block takes less or more time to break. I mean the animation and whole action of mining/punching/swinging seems sped up. I can't for the life of me figure out why mineralogy would affect that at all but figured I'd ask.
The other is, that when I look at any entity, hostile or neutral directly, they light up. As in ambient light suddenly changes. I look away and it goes back down to what it's supposed to be. This isn't mineralogy is it? edit: Nm I think this effect was damage indicators.
Thank you for taking the time to make this mod I love so much as well as your lootable body's mod!
Thank you!

This version fixes the appearance of Drywall so that the corners don't have that ugly white stripe anymore. The stripe was caused by a bug in the glass pane model file for vanilla Minecraft, so I had to make my own version.

I finally got around to adding stairs and half-blocks. Here's a quick demonstration of a few of the new blocks:
Also, I've now masted the science of Minecraft 1.8 blockstates. Someday I should make a tutorial, because blockstates are way more sane than block-switching.

Quick question. What's the easy way to get large amounts of old style cobblestone (other than lava cobble maker)?
I can burn any of these rocks to get stone, and from that stone brick, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to convert them to large chunks of cobble for decorative purposes.
The fastest way is to dig-up a ton of gravel (you can find lots of it in the ocean biome) and then craft it with the rock to make cobblestone. There aren't any other fast crafting recipes for cobblestone in Mineralogy, but if you think it is an issue, I can add something.

New update (version 2.4.0). I fixed a few minor bugs, added a new dirt-like block to the sedimentary rock list (Saprolite), and tried to improve the textures of the ores. Version 2.4.0 (and the newly updated texture packs) now provide cross-mod support for my brand new Base Metals mod.
Base Metals was originally going to be part of Mineralogy, then I wanted it to be part of a different (unfinished) mod, then finally I realized that it deserved to be its own mod. Base Metals adds a bunch more metals to improve realism (e.g. copper and silver) and also improves ore processing (i.e. you can pulverize ores into dust using the crack hammer). The new fantasy metals also add an interesting twist, because they are hard to get and two of them (adamantine and star-steel) are better than diamond.

It looks like chunk borders or something, as it is a regular pattern... in game it doesn't look like it, but in the dynmap you can really see it.

Not only that, but I think all the transitions look better, especially angled ones; more gradient like...
THANK YOU!
