Ah yes, the dialing device would be ideal to have computer controlled.

I think the first question is what are your plans for adding in the first place? Then we can move on to what we'd like to see. I use OC a lot and have a few thoughts. I assume basic functionality like being able to print to the screen is a given, but I'm curious on what exactly you plan on adding.
I tried using the energy plus module on one of my laser drills to mintor it's power (since it appears to be dipping for some reason from time to time).. And I cannot use it on that block.. When shift-right clicking it simply says.. settings cleared. It does work on the pre-chargers but that has its not really useful to monitor those.
<<, addition
The crafter 3 (and possibly the others).. If I choose INT so it stores the result internally the AE2 import bus doesn't import anything anymore... So the crafter quickly fills up and then stops... Again, it doesn't really run on the high setting anyway because it is constantly out of power..
Hmm, could be that the laser drill does not really implement the energy api. Can it be charged by putting an energy cell next to it? If not then that means my energy modules can't do anything with it either.
I'm not sure I understand your second question about the crafter. Can you clarify what the problem is exactly?

Well I'm currently just playing around and seeing what the possibilities are. I'm going to start by adding some OC api's for a few of RFTools blocks because that's relatively easy to do and is a good start.

Waw finally someone who uses my endergenic generators :-)
I'll check out if I can find something wrong with the infusion. I will let you know if I find an issue.
Ok, found the problem. I did the infused calculation wrong. I will fix this for next release (which will be for later today). BTW. I'm interested in seeing your setup. Also you should be getting a LOT more RF/tick out of it so I'm guessing you're probably just using my example setup from the wiki (which is sub-optimal)?
yes i am using your example set up to learn the concept so i can plan how i want to change it/ make it better. thats when i noticed some of the stuff was not working as expected. i'll download the new release and see what i can come up with. i really like this power system, makes you think about more then just putting fuel into a block and your done.

This mod is great. The fact that you can create dimensions adds a whole new level of creativity.
Anyways, Here's a suggestion for the mod:
- Add a type of dimlet where you can change the music that's being played while you're in that dimension. For example, Using The dimlet to change the overworld music of that dimension to have it play music heard from the nether.
Also I did not just try to create a Yellorium Ocean dimension to supply my ReactorCraft complex ....
Ok. I'll put them back. I thought they were useless :-)

Hmm. Sounds like fun. Would have to find out where in Minecraft that is controlled exactly.

It does sound "fun", but id advise against it, or make it toggle-able in the configs. Especially if mods come around that change the music/sounds you hear. Matmos comes to mind.

Yes, that's a good point. In any case it is not a priority at the moment. Busy with lots of other stuff.

Reika isn't too bad. He is engineer and a very clever guy. You also have to grant it to him that he is *extremely* active and replies to practically every post on his forum. I don't know too many mod authors who go to such great length to individually address every single question on a HUGE thread. Given that I think he can be forgiven to be a little 'short' from time to time :-)

He even replies to nearly every post and question about his mods (or him) on reddit.
Rotarycraft, Reactorcraft, and Electricraft are utterly brilliant in my mind. I still use things like TE and EnderIO, but neither of those give me the same feel. Nothing feels better than finally getting that first PBR going.
Yeh he definitely doesn't deserve all the crap that is thrown at him.. The reason I'm staying away from his mods is because of all the problems with other mods it creates... Update 1 of those, everything might break and you are troubleshooting for hours again.
@grimallq, no, but the problems with the mods are or the problems it creates with other mods.
/end
Let's talk about the great RFTools
This is true man , and after getting permission from him to include his mods in my mod pack I am having to think twice about it because a lot of the APIs in his mod are outdated , and I have to be forced to use other outdated mods in order to use his , and I am the type of person that likes to grad the latest update on a daily basis . What I really wish he would do , and I kinda hinted it at him before , and he didn't seem to interested in doing it is make a config option for each and every mod his mod interacts with so we can disable his mod from interacting with a certain mod . This way when a update to a mod comes out and it uses a updated API then we could disable the interaction in his config to keep it from crashing the game .
This makes it very hard to have his mods in a modpack , and I believe this is why you don't see many modpacks with his mods . Its sad , but true. I really love his mods though .
With the amount of time you spend on Reika's thread I'd think you'd know all the workarounds by now. The only mods that can't be updated to the very latest right now are Buildcraft (past 6.2.6) and AE2 (past rv2 beta 7) ... And AE2 rv2 beta 8 broke a lot of other mods that haven't updated yet.
Maybe Forestry Unstable also qualifies, but again, Forestry Unstable breaks many other mods with Forestry integration.
In actually relevant news. I got a Liquid Yellorium dimlet before the blacklist ... but it doesn't work. Probably because of the blacklist. Will have to wait for the glorious fuel ocean.
Also for some reason lately if I don't specify the terrain type RNG likes to give me a lot of void type worlds.
Even with the workarounds it really is hard to wait for some updates, especially in the case of BC and the newest Forestry (by proxy the newest Gendustry, and all those suite of mods). I've actually slowed down playing a bit because I want the fixes those implement yet I know it will break RC. I suppose that's neither here nor there, nor the scope of the RF-Tools thread.
That last thing actually may be something to look into, a good portion of my worlds that are randomly generated tend to be void worlds. It may however just be the glory of RNG making it seem as if it's becoming regular.
Yesterday I made a Liquifacted Coal world, and set up an extreme setup for pumping and churning out energy (mostly for fun). It's pretty hilarious. It's basically one GIANT Advanced Generators generator producing a ridiculous amount of RF all by itself. I forgot how much it's producing but it's basically generating all the energy for all my ages.
Edit: Speaking of which, is there a dimlet for Certus? Good lord we need a Certus quartz dimlet. AE2 eating up all the certus so fast it's ridiculous. Make it expensive, idc. There is no real easy way of obtaining it beyond early and endgame solutions. Early, mine for it. Late, use an MFR drill. Inbetween? I suppose there is a quarry but that's fairly inconsistent, even my Boring Machine seems to not pick up more than 5 or so over a vast period of time. It's max size and running about every 3 or so seconds.

You can try to add a dimlet for certus ore yourselves by editing userdimlets.json in the config. The syntax is as follows:
<expensive> should be 1 if you don't want this dimlet to appear in random worldgen. It can still be added manually.

Somehow, the thought of a computer controlling the dialing device makes me wonder how many safety protocols you are just going to fake responses to, or ignore, and if you can wind up dialing a blackhole or a star about to go nova.
Or if we should just show some aliens with long cooldown, anti-tank blasters a digital watch.
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?
For a flat plain without any surprises you'll probably need these. Order probably doesn't matter.
Terrain flat <-- perfectly flat terrain at Y=64
Biome controller single <-- one biome dimension
Biome Plains <-- this biome
Material none <-- default materials used (dirt, stone, ect)
Liquid none <-- normal water
Effects none <-- obvious
Feature none <-- no extra terrain
Sky day normal <-- day sky color
Sky night normal <-- night sky color
Time normal <-- standard Minecraft day
Mobs normal <-- no random additional mobs, not sure if this dimlet exists
Structure none or Village. <-- no structures or just villages
Disclaimer: Typing stuff from memory, might get some names wrong. Can't remember if there is a Normal/default mob dimlet.
This is mostly right. Except put the material none and liquid none dimlets before the terrain dimlet as they are modifiers for terrain.
