Adds bunnyhopping, strafe jumping, air control, trimping, and sharking to Minecraft and removes losing speed from taking fall damage (needs to be installed server-side for this). Bunnyhopping is uncapped by default, but has config settings for Fortress Forever-style soft and hard bunnyhop caps. The air and ground acceleration code is actually based on Half-Life's, but it should be fairly similar to Quake's. The trimp mechanic is a modified version of the Fortress Forever trimp mechanic: if you're moving fast enough, holding sneak while jumping will convert some of your horizontal speed into vertical speed. Sharking refers to gliding across the surface of water by holding jump.
I have no idea if this mod will be of interest to anyone else, but it's a style of movement that I have grown to love and find it hard to play any game without it.
I absolutely love this. I've always been curious to see what it would feel like to actually have the movement mechanics from Source/Quake imported into Minecraft. Turns out it's as fun as I thought it'd be.
Only things I could really suggest is a config option to disable auto-bhop and the ability to bind mouse wheel down/up to jump or keys in general. Otherwise, I'll be seriously looking forward to the 1.7.10 version as this will definitely be going into my roster of mods.

Not sure how feasible an mwheel jump bind would be, or what would be involved in allowing mwheel to be bound. Probably won't happen. Autojump ain't so bad, you just have to get used to it.
Wonderful! good work! Now do rocket jumping, villager airshots, and conc jumping. Please teach villagers how to conc, please.
Concussion grenades are something I've been thinking of adding (and perhaps something that allows you to rocket jump, but I'm not sure that it'll be a standard RPG). Don't get your hopes up about conc jumping villagers.
Changelog
- Added a 1.7.x version
- Added support for the Version Checker mod (1.7.x only)
- Bumped up max air acceleration per tick a tiny bit and exposed it to the config
Hey, it seems that this mod breaks some armors and items that apply a passive speed boost (without potion effects) though it isn't universal. Items like the KAMI armor and the Bound armor from Blood Magic no longer apply their speed boosts, but the Boots of the Traveler from Thaumcraft still do. Also, it seems that enchantments are also affected by this (Haste from TC and Sonic the Hedgehog from Mariculture).
I'm thinking this is a problem that might not be able to be solved on your end, but I'm unsure.

EDIT:
Tested on 1.7.2 SMP + SSP.
I figured I'd run into that problem, but I didn't test it with too many things. I'll have to look into how each mod applies their speed boosts (I did that with Thaumcraft, so that's why that works, but I didn't do it with any others).
Yeah, this will take some effort to fix properly. I can make a simple change that 'fixes' it, but the speeds aren't right (sigil of haste makes you move faster than it normally would, speed while sneaking is totally wrong, etc). I'm planning on doing some major code refactoring sometime soon, so I'll try to fix it while I'm doing that.
Have had a blast just bhoping across biome after biome with this. Though it's a shame how rough and clustered MC terrain can get. The more you get used to the trimp mechanic the easier it is to keep going. But even then in the denser forests getting stuck is almost unavoidable, and some times when you get going it's kinda hard to judge wether or not you're going to clear that block or get stuck on it.
Fun way to explore, just a little hard going in some areas.

Two things.
Pressing space to auto hop feels too easy to what I remember. Would it be possible to allow us to use scroll wheel up/down to jump and disable the auto jump so it takes effort and skill instead of just being a script kiddie.
Also would it be possible to adjust/disable the hunger penalty for jumping. Becomes a little bit annoying to attempt to keep track of hunger.

Other then that I really enjoy the mod so far. <:
Mwheel isn't a re-bindable button in Minecraft, so mwheel jump isn't really a possibility. However, I'm not terribly interested in removing autojump anyway. There's not too much difference between mhweel jump and autojump in terms of skill required, as mwheel effectively removes the difficulty of jump timing anyway.
I'll add a config option for changing the exhaustion from jumping.

Not compatible with Smart Moving
Note: It is recommended to use this with Squeedometer.

good mod! i hope you update it to 1.7 soon and speedometer mod
You need to use PlayerAPI Core, not PlayerAPI Forge. Will clarify that in the OP.

What do you mean by particle effects? There are already sprint-style particle effects whenever you bunnyhop/trimp.
