I, Tombenpotter TehNut, am here to present Redstone Armory, a Redstone Arsenal/Thermal Expansion addon. It is primarily mainted by Tombenpotter (The creator of Electro-Magic Tools) and I. We occasionally get some outside help.
If I haven't lost your interest, yet, you're probably wondering what this does. Well, look no further, I shall be your guide!
This mod was originally a pull-request to the 1.7.2 indev version of Redstone Arsenal (RArs from hereon out), but the TPPI developers asked us to backport it to 1.6.4.
In the current version, we add upgrades to the RArs Flux tools - Gelid Enderium. One thing I didn't like about Thermal Expansion 3 (TE3) was that Cryotheum had almost no use. We wanted to change that.
Please note that many features in 1.6.4 are very (very) broken and will crash the client and/or server. Sadly, we have stopped 1.6.4 dev and are now working on the 1.7.10 release.
Dev builds for unfinished, broken, and probably crashy versions are here.
As of the more recent builds, we now depend on ttCore by tterrag which is found here.
Tools
Gelid Enderium Axe
According to Wikipedia (IT'S A VALID SOURCE), axes go with weather. Yeah, I didn't believe it, either. Anyways, when empowered, the axe will allow the player to use a large amount of energy to rid the world of rain as well as spawning lightning bolts on the block they right click. Careful, though. It's not completely stable.

Gelid Enderium Battlewrench
The idea behind the BattleWrench ability is swinging the wrench in a wide arc damaging mobs/players/etc in a 2 (4 if empowered) block radius. In order to "simulate" the swing, the player will be turned slightly as if the momentum moved them. This is not how we intended (wanted the player to spin in a full circle) but this works, too.

Gelid Enderium Pickaxe
Since it's an ENDERium pickaxe, why not add some ENDER abilities? Instead of breaking stone, it will teleport a 3x3 area of it behind you. However if you mine ores, it will only do the single block.
Recipe:
Here, have a gfycat of the ability! (Very old, you can tell by the name)
Gelid Enderium Shovel
Since the standard Fluxed Shovel is a hoe, doesn't it make sense that this is bonemeal? No? TOO BAD. IT'S BONEMEAL. EMPOWER TO PLACE MOAR BONEMEAL.

Gelid Enderium Sickle
It's... Umm... The same thing but with more energy... Yaay?
Recipe:
gfycat coming soon(™)
Gelid Enderium Sword
Ever wanted the ability to suck in nearby items while blocking? No? Well now you can! Empower for more suckage.

Materials
Gelid Enderium Ingot
The main crafting ingredient for all the tools. It has been infused with the energies of the Flux ingot and frozen with the coolness of Cryotheum. The results allow for a very powerful alloy.
Recipe:
Gelid Enderium Nugget
Has no real purpose, just added for completionists sake.
Recipe:
Gelid Gem
A Flux Crystal with it's energies frozen. Who knows what powers it can hold?
Recipe:
Gelid Rod
For the tools to withstand the contained energies, you need an upgraded tool rod.
Recipe:
Blocks
Block of Gelid Enderium
A block of Enderium frozen forever, it seems to give off quite a shock when you stand on it.

This is free software. I will never charge you to use, license, or obtain this software. Doing so would make me a jerk.
I will never take down or start charging for what is available today. Doing so would make me a jerk.
You may use this code (and by code I mean anything contained within in this project) for whatever you want. Personal use, Educational use, Corporate use, Military use, and all other uses are OK! Limiting how you can use something free (Besides what is found on Line 21) would make me a jerk.
I offer no warranty on anything, ever. I've tried to ensure that there are no gaping security holes where using this software might automatically send your credit card information to aliens or erase your entire hard drive, but it might happen. I'm sorry. However, I warned you, so you can't sue me. Suing people over free software would make you a jerk.
If you find bugs, it would be nice if you let me know so I can fix them. You don't have to, but not doing so would make you a jerk.
Speaking of bugs, I am not obligated to fix anything nor am I obligated to add a feature for you. Feeling entitled about free software would make you a jerk.
If you add a cool feature or fix a bug, it would be nice if you passed it back to the project. You don't have to, but not doing so would make you a jerk. The repository/site you obtained this software from should contain a way for you to contact me. Contributing to open source makes you awesome!
If you use this software (including modpacks of all kinds), you don't have to give me any credit, but it would be nice.
(This line is important)
While use of this software on a server that requires a monthly subscription is allowed, you are not allowed to collect profits or donations of any kind from the distribution of features added to Minecraft by this software.

Myself for beginning the mod. Tombenpotter for deciding to take on the role of lead dev after I asked him "tom, why won't my pickaxe pickaxe?" Fako (Professor29) for lots of ideas and bug finding. esKaayY for forcing me to backport this to 1.6.4. (You can put the whip away, now!) tterrag for lots of help when I was lost. And nobody else. Not another single person.
Donations It's not how it looks, I swear!
If you enjoy this so much that you wish to send me money, don't. I don't want it. I don't mod for money, I do it for fun. If you STILL want to give some money, give it to Child's Play Charity. They'll make better use of it than I would.
Best Quotes Because I like humor.
HaroldDaFrog It's actually kind of fun, you feel like a mole.
Wow, I managed to make it through that. I'm VERY surprised. Anyways, some random information that the editor is too buggy for me to bother formatting in up there:
1) The textures look like the Redstone Arsenal ones because they are the Redstone Arsenal ones. I simply retextured them so I could keep the same feel.
2) More features will come... When we update to 1.7.2/10. This being Armor, Blocks, more tools, whatever.
3) This is a third thing.
4) It's currently 6am while I write this. I had my last two wisdom teeth pulled less than 24 hours ago (ouch) and I'm running off Jello and chocolate pudding. I probably missing something in the post...
5) I apologize in advance for Tom.
6) I have successfully managed to . My master plan is coming along nicely.
I like this a lot! I've always wished that more would come of RF as far as tools go. Any interest in armor? I know powersuits are everyone's go-to, but I would prefer some old-fashioned armor that simply ran off of RF.
May I make a suggestion? Perhaps even a 3rd mode would be fitting for some of the tools, like the pickaxe could have a "creative mining" mode, as in it mines a lot faster, but it destroys the blocks so you don't get anything at all. The sickle could perhaps have a chain leaf destroying mode, where destroying a leaf block would cause a chain of destruction to any connected leaf blocks. (Great for clearing out forests) of course with no drops in that mode either.
Anyways once it's 1.7 mod I'm definitely going to use this.
It has come to my attention that the Rod doesn't load with it's texture (it did last night) and most of the abilities don't work. AMAZING FIRST RELEASE. EXPECT FIX SOON.
Well, I apparently decided that on is off and off is on. I have recently corrected my ways. Also, caps are bad.

There have been quite a few suggestions on the Reddit post for the tools that we are taking into consideration. So far, my favorite is the pickaxe sending items to a Tesseract frequency... That is a very nice idea for the sickle. We were struggling with that one (hence why it has no ability. It just uses more energy... >.>)
And if it is possible, there could be a way to treat the liquids added (redstone flux, gelid cryotheum and blazing pyrotheum) as modifiers; one could have a blazing enderium pickaxe which auto-smelts metal ores and a gelid enderium sword which slows enemies upon strike. Upgraded gems would also be pretty nice.
We may rework how we do the tools later, and this is one of the ways we were thinking of doing it. Similar to the armor ideas in this thread.
Forgot another thing: where are the hoes? We need hoes! HOES! LOADS OF HOES!
Give me a decent ability for a hoe and it shall be done.
On a side note:
RedstoneArmory is not (and never was) intended to be simply an armor (soon) and tools addition. I always planned on it being more of a "random additions to the CoFH modset" kind of thing. That said, I have some words for you:
Portable Tesseract (1.6 version will not be linked to Tesseracts, 1.7 version may. Depends on the API we're given.)
Compressed Dynamo (9 of same dynamo in a crafting table. 8x fuel usage for 10x output in a single block)
Compressed Energy Cell (9 of same cell in a crafting table. 10x more storage, double max output/input)
Hey, I know that this was originally devolved for 1.7.2. Is 1.7.2 still being developed?
Thermal Expansion isn't even out for 1.7 yet, but when it is this mod is going to be part of it if I understand the post correctly... Redstone Arsenal and Redstone Armoury are the same thing. In 1.7 (currently in-dev on github)
Hey, I know that this was originally devolved for 1.7.2. Is 1.7.2 still being developed?
We will not be porting to 1.7.2, but straight to 1.7.10. We have to do that because of how CoFH is updating their mods. The 1.7 port will come with most of the new features (There probably won't be another 1.6 release) that we've been working on.
So after screwing around for about 2 hours with the various tools, the Shovel is definitely my favourite, with the Sickle and Sword tied for second. That being said, what the bloody hell is the Sickle supposed to DO?

Most of the crashy abilities from 1.6.4 *should* be fixed. Backported code doesn't work too well, it seems. It also includes... Armor! Very buggy, non-crashy armor!

Sigh...I want to do more with that mod. Maybe you should check out Super Massive Tech, the armor I made there is much cooler :P.
Congrats on the release nut
Much thanks. And dat self promotion
Anyways, thread keeps getting removed since I don't have 10 posts, yet. So that needs to change...
When I move on to 1.7.x I certainly shall. I've had an eye on that mod since I first visited your site, looks quite nice.
That is possible... *strokes non-existent beard*
