I cant seem to find the "keep the launcher open" option, but whenever i open up i minecraft i notice that my minecraft uses the 1.6.u65 version even though i have updated to 1.7.65. So is it possible for me to direct my minecraft to the 1.7.65 installation?
Go to your Minecraft launcher and edit your profile and check the executable under Java settings. Locate the javaw.exe file of Java 8 and get the file path. Paste it on the textbox beside the checkbox then save.
And for those of you having problems with Java 7 on Mac OS X, here's the solution.
1. Download Oracle Java 7 (or 8 if you want) from this link. Note that this is the Dev Kit (JDK), not the one you install in your browser (SE).
2. Open the .dmg after downloading and double-click the package to install.
3. After finishing, you'll need to find where it was installed. The default path for version 1.7.0 Update 60 is:
4. Now, open the Minecraft Launcher and click the "Edit Profile" button. Make sure the profile where you installed the mods is selected, that's the one you'll want to edit.
5. At the bottom of the window you'll see a section called "Java Settings (Advanced)". Mark the first checkbox in this section and then type (or paste) the directory where Java 7 is installed.
6. Save the profile and you're done. It should work now.
Some notes:
If you install a different version of Java, the directory will change. So, for Java 8, the folder would be called "jdk1.8.0_05.jdk".
This new Java installation will not (or should not) override the original Apple version that is in your system.
I will probably provide an API to allow other moders to easily make animated doors, but I can't automatically do it for them
Alrighty, thanks. I hope Mojang uses this mod in the real Vanilla game in the future., (Or, at least as a graphical option.)
Also, I noticed that when I use Littleblocks on doors and try to open doors on Little Blocks Blocks, the doors open but the animation isn't played.

I have a friend running on Mac OS X whos getting crashes with this error:
[main/ERROR] [FML]: An error occurred trying to configure the minecraft home at /Users/(name)/Library/Application Support/minecraft for Forge Mod Loader
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: net/malisis/core/asm/MalisisCorePlugin : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0
This problem occurs even if Malisis is the only mod being used. I noticed on other mod's gates, when it is open you can walk through it at any angle even sideways right through the wood. But, with the vanilla gates with Malisis the only way you can get through the gate is by walking through during the animation of it opening and closing.
And what about the garage door issue I mentioned?
I haven't look at this issue yet, but from the tests I already made, what you describe never happened to me. The only bug I encountered with Garage doors, is the bottom one sometime looks like the top one on world reload, but it's just a graphical glitch, the doors kept working as expected.
i have seen a few mod showcases about this and wanted to try it out. so i downloaded java 7, forge, and finally, the mod itself. Then i dragged the mod to the mods folder on my mac. But every time i load minecraft, it fills up the loading bar, the screen disappears like normal, but then it reappears and i have nothing els to do but keep clicking the play button. Any suggestions?
As usual, you need to provide a crash log if you want to be helped. See previous posts in this thread I you can't locate it.

Please put crash reports in spoilers, like I've done above. And actually, you'll notice that he already posted the fix right above. I had the same problem.

As for Littleblocks, I don't know the mod but if you mean you can place little doors and they don't animate, it's probably on their side.
You forgot the added additional doors, the player sensors, the Vanishing Frames, and the awesome Block Mixer. I would so love to see all of those (And the animated doors as a graphical option) in the real Vanilla Minecraft.
And LittleBlocks allows you to make smaller blocks on other block via the LittleBlocks wand. It's a bit hard to explain. and the glitch is fine, it's nothing major, just appearance/graphical.

Uhh ... 10.7.3 for java version ?? That's weird ! The latest version is currently 1.7u65. My bad, you just need MacOS 10.7.3+ to use the latest update of java. Sorry I have Windows ><
As we said before, ensure that minecraft use the latest installation by either putting the right path of this java version in your launcher or uninstalling all other java instance before installing the one you downloaded.
I'll make it easy; the instructions are in this spoiler.
From another post by MyanKnight :
P.S. Since this is all compiled into a single post maybe it could be added to OP in a spoiler.

Roof or walls shouldn't affect the doors at all. Does the problem persist if you break and replace the faulty ones ?
Yes, I have replaced them many times and as soon as it starts opening again it goes right back to the glitch. It may just all be tied into the same glitch you see where the windows are at the bottom at logon. Have you found a fix for that? Maybe I could test that and see if the problem still exists?

The bottom window is purely graphical. Opening the doors, automatically corrects the glitch. Even right clicking it corrects it. I've no idea why. Maybe it's conflicting with some other mod. Or maybe it's the way you built the structure. I can't really say.
When you put a door, the facing is determined by the direction the player is looking, unless there already is a door above or under, then in that case, the facing is copied from that. Once a door is placed, the whole column list is rebuilt, meaning it fetches the top most door, marks it as "topDoor" and cycles through all the doors beneath it and tell them it is the master. So even if you place a door in the middle, connecting two separate column above and under, it should rebuilt itself as it should.
Anyway, I'll keep investigating...
Edit : I thought for a moment it may be client/server bug, but I just tested in SMP and still no problem
PS : i found a small bugs
1 - diamond Vanishing Frames recipe doesn't it show up in NEI unless its in inventory
2 - if Vanishing Frames option is disabled in config.cfg it will cause crash in creative mod tabs
very minor bugs otherwise it's one of the greatest mod ever

From another post by MyanKnight:
Go to your Minecraft launcher and edit your profile and check the executable under Java settings. Locate the javaw.exe file of Java 8 and get the file path. Paste it on the textbox beside the checkbox then save.
From another post by deomkds:
And for those of you having problems with Java 7 on Mac OS X, here's the solution.
1. Download Oracle Java 7 (or 8 if you want) from this link. Note that this is the Dev Kit (JDK), not the one you install in your browser (SE).
2. Open the .dmg after downloading and double-click the package to install.
3. After finishing, you'll need to find where it was installed. The default path for version 1.7.0 Update 60 is:
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_60.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java

I haven't look at this issue yet, but from the tests I already made, what you describe never happened to me. The only bug I encountered with Garage doors, is the bottom one sometime looks like the top one on world reload, but it's just a graphical glitch, the doors kept working as expected.
As usual, you need to provide a crash log if you want to be helped. See previous posts in this thread I you can't locate it.
I will investigate the issues, but anything related to NEI can quickly become really complicated.
Yes it is!
Mojang will probably never implement these features as it's more than simply graphical.
As for Littleblocks, I don't know the mod but if you mean you can place little doors and they don't animate, it's probably on their side.
You friend needs to update his Java version.

i think this is what you mean by my crash report so here it is
Please put crash reports in spoilers, like I've done above. And actually, you'll notice that he already posted the fix right above. I had the same problem.
Click on this spoiler to see mods and ideas that I support!
So did you look at the screenshots I provided? I documented each stage of the garage door opening and closing and a part of it is the graphical glitch you mentioned. In your tests your were able to make a door that was 10 blocks wide and more than 6 blocks tall and it works just fine without any graphical glitch?
I'll make it easy; the instructions are in this spoiler.
From another post by MyanKnight :
P.S. Since this is all compiled into a single post maybe it could be added to OP in a spoiler.

Well thanks for the effort! Maybe it needs a roof or walls? lol
It's this dumb stuff from RailCraft again. You need to open the RailCraft config file and set something like I:block.hidden=0.
