Could you make it so that there is a seperate imprinting crystal for wither skeletons and normal ones? I want to spawn wither skeletons in the overworld, otherwise I would have to move my essentia setup to the nether... which wouldnt be great as you might know
But that would also make it so people can't just put skeleton spawners in the Nether. :C
FlaxBeard called dibs on the taint robe already and I'm letting him have it since I can't texture it.
Was originally making the Tainted Wand stop tainted mobs from aggroing you, but dropped it because it wouldn't work right. The feature would probably work better as an armor like you suggested.
A plan for Wand Focus: Taint Swarm is in the works.
Yup. Still working out the kinks in it, though. The wand tends to be ridiculously lethal when you run out of LP.
Nothing wrong with that, LP is pretty cheap anyway. Maybe make it so that you can deactivate the ability by shift-right clicking with the wand in hand?

No way to add a special right-click without rewriting the base wand code. :/
Current plan is that the wand only charges if it's held directly in the hand of whoever it's bound to. That way, it'll only charge if you want it to, and you don't have to worry about other people going "Hey, you dropped this."

Ladies and Madmen! I now have a simple, but amazing build for you that only uses vanilla thaumcraft mechanics.
I present the hungry node reactor:
What it does, and how it works:
Alright, let me cover the basics first.
Most thaumaturge's know what hunger nodes do: They "Eat" blocks and entity's if there in range. What few know is that when they eat something, they gain a few of the aspects of what they eat. They also have a restriction on any block placed so they can't eat anything with high blast resistance.
Now then, how this works: Place anything in the chest that you want turned into vis. Then the EU pipes move anything in the chest to a vanilla dropper powered by a redstone timer. This drops it for the node to munch on.
So basically: If you drop cobble in the chest, you get terra (With compound focus) and perditio. It should work on anything you drop in.
So what can you do with this? Well, here we have a way to turn items into vis. You could hook it up to a mob farm, or break the node for a ton of wispy essence. Get creative with this people!
Note: be careful near the reactor, as the node will still try and suck you closer. It can't hurt you through a wall, but it can be hard to escape.
v0.22:
- Change: Umbral Roses are nerfed again. The world has been swallowed by darkness.
- Change: Emerald Nuggets and Chameleon Tools now using Dylan4ever's textures.
- Addition: Eldritch Wand, uses Player Beacon to generate vis at the cost of your soul
- Addition: Blood Wand, uses blood to generate vis
- Addition: Educational enchant. Get some learnin'
FINALLY! A way to use foci without draining my last node! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to my ME network, getting the junk required and MAKING THAT BLOOD WAND! Add some Ichorium caps for the 20% discount, finish up my LP buffers... Gonna be great! I wonder, though, how much Vis can I make with three dozen Resonant Tanks...?

If I'm rude to you, just tell me. Don't take it too personally. Well, unless you were being stupid. If you were, DO take it personally.

The convertion rate is 1,000 LE = 1 Vis. So for every bucket of LE you have, you gain 1 vis. So 64 * (12 * 3) = ~2,300 points of vis. But remember, it drains from you Soul network.

Question not the mad-mans ways, for you may begin to see logic in his actions, then find yourself mad as well.
You may call me The Madman, as there is no name that suits me better.

I know, and as I somewhat-explained in the Blood Magic thread, I've build my tier 5 blood altar with the upper two rings of runes self-sacrifice, the third sacrifice and the fourth dislocation. Combined with my three pairs of liquid translocators and my archmage blood orb just sitting there, I only need to refill the external tanks once in a while, then let them automatically fill up my blood orb and Soul Network. Simple.

Can you even do that? Add Ichorium Caps to non KAMI wands?
Edit: Just tried it and you can. Silly me
Also, SpitefulFox ,the blood wand is not in the creative inventory.
Edit 2: -_-' I really don't think before posting lol. I think it is because I don't have the Blood Magic mod installed, but I do somehow get access to the wand in creative (but thaumium bossed is not in creative, that's what I meant)
The cross-mod wands won't appear in the creative menu or NEI unless you have the other mod installed as well. Even if you cheat them in, they won't do anything other than look pretty if you don't have Player Beacons or Blood Magic installed.
Alright, no clue if this has been suggested before, but since you do seem to be mixing in compatibility with other mods, would Ars Magica 2 have a possibility of being one of them at one point? Like, maybe there could be a way to make a wand that uses Mana to generate Vis, but with like a 6:1 ratio, where six Mana points fills up one point per aspect gradually over time.
A core that could be added could be the Witchwood core that would enable the Mana to Vis conversion and caps could be Vintium-infused in tiers of:
Blue Topaz -> Moonstone -> Sunstone, where the difference would be the rate at which the conversion occurs compared to using non Vintium-infused caps, Sunstone being the best due to the difficulty of nabbing it out of pools of lava, and Moonstone below that because of the randomized chance of the meteors crashing in the middle of the night. And so on. I'll try what you got so far though, sounds interesting!

As for essentia, moving jars is easier then an entire network.

So the Eldritch Wand Core requires Player Beacons to be installed?

Yup. Eldritch Wand Core requires Player Beacons and the Blood Wand requires Blood Magic.
Cool.
I figured from the blood orb and divination sigil on your hotbar in that screenshot I'm assuming it drains LP to restore Vis in the wand?

Ah, shame.
That makes sense, though.
