The Market, cake blocks, Fish Trap, and Animal Trap will be added back as I get a better handle on 1.8.9 code. Beekeeping stuff is moving to its own mod. You can still get salt with buckets.
Oh cool. I love beekeeping. I will be looking forward to that one
While I am absolutely excited about the 1.8.9 update, I was wondering if there was/will be a version compatible with 1.8.0? This is my favorite mod I'v ever used!
(Sorry if this is a repeated question, I did a little searching around but couldn't find much)
I am getting those pesky black and pink checkers cubes. Basically using Minestrappolation and Thaumcraft, Removing Minestrapp did improve, but still getting many many missing items.
Without Minestrapp, all textures from Walnut sapling down.

In general, the 1.8 part means a major update, and the .9 part means they had to go through 9 versions before they got all the bugs out.
So the 1.8.9 version is the reasonably bug-free version of 1.8.0
In other words, 1.8.0 is obsolete, while 1.6.4, 1.7.10, and 1.8.9 -- the bug-fixed versions of those major updates -- are all still in working order, depending on how much you appreciate different stuff they added to the game. Myself, I enjoyed 1.6.4 and don't like 100% of the updates necessarily, but I won't go back further than the fishing update, so I stick with 1.7.10 or later.

My YouTube channel is currently on hiatus, but I hope to get back to it at some point. Content is fairly random, but can be enjoyable, and is mostly game footage (mostly random Minecraft clips) from my nephews and me. Most popular MC vid so far is the one Vechs laughed at on Twitter!
I've been created my techno mod pack for my friends. For the server API I
use latest (08.04.16) Thermos. I have Latest Hunger Overhaul,
Applecore, Pam harvest craft versions on board. When I play on my server
and I try to eat any of Harvest craft food it don't uses at all.
Visually it adds some of chickens (hunger) but after some seconds the
food I eat goes back to the inventory and hungers goes back. I tested
this moment in offline and all good.
PS: this is no server lag because other thing goes ok and all other food
from vanilla and other mods eats fine.
I turned off hunger overhaul and the eat stuff works fine on the server but anyway is there any variants to fix this?
Will the 1.7.10 version ever see rice that is compatible with Agricraft? The latest version you can't plant rice on anything other than water. Waterpads do not work for rice even though they work for water chestnuts.

Not sure what issue you're having, works just fine for me.
So you put down a water pad, crop sticks and you can plant a rice seed that you have run through the analyzer? I do not have rice seeds for some reason...rice does not turn into a seed in the crafting grid. Rice itself does not plant into the water pad with crop sticks or tilled dirt and crop sticks.
Though that mod is quite limited, and some blocks don't have textures for all variants. I do like the roundness of some parts. Allows for a round pool/arches/etc.
Edit: Agricraft does have an alpha, but it says 1.8. Dunno yet if that means 1.8.9 or just the old 1.8.0, but I hope the former. 1.8.0 is horribly unstable.
Architexturecraft is not compatible with optifine, just fyi
Has anyone run into the problem in the last full 1.7.10 mod where you use a bucket of water in any Pam's recipe and it vanishes? This happens consistently with every recipe that calls for water. It's gotten to the point were I'll just cheat and snatch Fresh Water as needed, as I don't want to lose all that iron.
Just bumping this issue, as I'm still experiencing it. I haven't tried it yet with the 1.8.9 build yet. I'll let folks know if buckets vanish still.
I'm wondering if anyone else had the same ideas/wishes...:
What if Harvestcraft made carrots drop carrot seeds (as a minimum; I know technically carrot flowers produce the seeds), and what about seed potatoes--including poisonous seed potatoes (or potatoes harvested too soon giving poisonous potatoes, good for attack potions?)
I still find it odd that carrots and taters are the only things that don't follow the "Harvestcraft model". When I play vanilla MC I don't mind as much but when I have Harvestcraft on, I'd want the mechanics to be consistent everywhere and the way Harvestcraft does it is much more interesting than what MC does, to me at least.
I'm also unaware aware of anything that would prevent overriding the default MC crop...?? which I guess would be a limiting factor if it existed.
How to deal with ignorance (in life, and on forums): The Zen way... Stay cool and polite, treat people as you wish to be treated, rise above your impatience. Everyone is ignorant of something at any point in their lives, including you.

I also prefer to have the mechanics be 100% HC when I'm playing HC. I don't know if that's hard to code or not.
Ex Nihilo has a Carrot Seeds and a Potato Seeds, but I don't think they get dropped from the crops, just dropped by the sieves. Same for tree seeds like an Acorn for the oak tree instead of a sapling.
Hey, Pam? If you look quiiite a ways down pifou's page on Lots of Food, you'll find a screenshot of a Plate holding food. It works just like an item frame, but only for edible things.
I love pifou's work (Improving Minecraft being one I use frequently), and I did just ask if maybe he could make a standalone mod that just had the plate, but in case he doesn't have time, I hope you'll consider adding one to HarvestCraft.
Also wondering how it could work to have a drink slot beside the plate, where a drink could "stand up" like an actual glass or cup would. No idea how difficult that might be to code.

Hey Pam? I've been considering how to make Woven Cloth a bit more useful to my mod build, and just thought about turning it into carpets. Like, you have to turn Wool into String, then String into Cloth, then Cloth into Carpets. Similarly, having to make Cloth in order to make Beds (because my mod build is all about slowing down progression in certain ways).
I like the progression, but it gets rid of the ability to make colored carpets.
Any chance you'd consider adding Colored Cloth to the mix? All the basic wool colors, but as cloth.
I'm still in 1.7.10, but I would understand if you decided to add it only to later updates and not backport it. (I'd also understand if you're just too busy to add a new feature right now.)
ETA: Just made a flat waterworld (63 water over 1 bedrock), and I don't see a water garden anywhere. Do they even spawn on flatworld maps? Kinda sadface about it -- hope it's just RNG stuff. Helps if I set the biome to Ocean instead of Plains.

I have the suspicion this is due to some other mod, because it's happening for multiple modded items, but when I try to look at certain recipes in Not Enough Items (specifically, what sort of recipes I can use a given item in), it crashes. One of the items doing this is your cutting board. Your pot does it too. Not sure which other items are doing it.
ETA: Never mind, it's doing it for vanilla items as well. Dang. This is gonna take some intense troubleshooting.
ETA2: Tracked it down to HarvestCraft. It's doing some sort of out-of-bounds array thing that affects even vanilla items and Thirst Mod's Wooden Cup. I don't know what all it affects, because each test requires loading Minecraft again.
I really seriously want to use HC in my build, so I'm gonna try some earlier HC versions for now and see if one of them doesn't trigger the crashes.
ETA3: Tracked it down to the very latest build, Lb. Everything prior to that doesn't have the crash.
