Guard's mod Guards mod where you can hire or tame your guards by using gold ingot,this mod adds variety of guards like Guard archer and Guard .anyway here's some pic:

don't mess with guard if they aren't hired or tamed and you provoke them,all of them will be chasing you ! so beware ! (you can always hire or tame guard even they are provoke !),you can throw weapon or armor to them and they will equip it ! here some pic :
when guards tamed and you right click it !,the guards will stand that position forever ! until you're right click it again or when mobs near your guards.

Does the Guardsman use the special effects of the weapon equipped ? Does it the armor lessen the damage and will the armor eventually die from durability ?
i'd like a way to take stuff off them and put it on like a pop up GUI. also maybe they could say things in chat @ the person they are talking to like "stop right there, i'm Purenrg's personal guard. maybe they could have a warning mode for a 15 block radius where they would say "don't come any closer!" and attack if they do get to close. maybe a defense mode where they attack anyone not holding a certain item in there hand so you could have your town member know what item to hold when approaching. and an agro so if 1 of "purenrg's gaurds" get hit, they agro the others to come running.

This is actually a neat idea. Maybe a gui like a horse? or our normal armor gui? Also, one thing that has been bothering me, since they're only guards, why r their HP so high? Instead of the hundreads of HP, how about just 20 like normal Steve? This way, you can still make more stronger warriors, knights, and paladins to add into the mod instead of just OP-ing the player from the get go. Plus, how much does each guard cost? Hopefully, you can make it so that there is an upkeep cost, such as a gold nugget/day or the guard breaks the contract w/you- he leaves with watever is in his inventory too. As of right now, it is considered to be very OP as there is no limit on how big your army can become, and they have massive amounts of HP so an army of 2-4 is really unstoppable by vanilla mobs... perhaps new mobs to face off that would hold a challenge? I understand that this is the initial debut of this mod, but it really needs more balancing. Love to see what you have for this mod and how it will grow... for ideas on how to do an upkeep cost, you can talk to the author of this mod: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1385622-152162-ancient-warfare-forgesmpwipdl/ -he uses food as an upkeep cost.
These guards also need a way to command them to actually guard a site, and not just you. Wouldn't that just mean that these soldiers will just get in your way like wolves? The wolf AI sucks becuz if a wolf is told to stay put, it no longer is in protect mode, it just sits dumbly by even while you're dying right in front of it, so plz, don't use the wolf AI for your NPCs. Perhaps a flute or trumpet of some sort can be used to direct the commands to your soldiers? Again, the mod author from the mod I refer does have some kind of AI where you can control your units more than just dogs in human skins. I am not telling you to turn your mod into his mod, but am simply suggesting to you where help can be found if you should need it as I am not a coder and would not know how to help at all.

However, it just seems like it would be hard to code, but if possible, I would love to see this implemented as well. Again, this mod is great in its debut and has so much potential. I await what else you have in stock for us.

hey congrats minecraftuniverse did a mod review on this ^^ i had my eye on it though and i will be downloading it could you try and get them to spawn in villages also and protect villages like golems?and this mod seems perfect ive been complaining saying why aint there no friendly mobs or humans :/ only thing close to it was the little maids mod

MU did this review hmm...well i should probably thanked him..and place the mod reviewthis mod aims for guarding the player rather than villagers and villagers already had golem so no need for more for guards them !
