Great mod! and thankyou for the work in updating it.
Could you bring back some of the other functions from the old mod? Like being able to make statues from the mobs, being able to link to an online skin file, and the ability to have the base at the bottom of the statue?
These make quite the fancy armor stands... Although I find the display cases to not look as nice as they should for a lot of items.
However, is there any way to recover a statue? The posing screen is a bit lacking as far as previewing it. I found that after posing it to what I thought looked good, it was leaning a bit too far forward or back (forget which). Now since I was testing in creative it was no big deal, but if I were making it in survival using 2 rare blocks like diamond, it would be rather annoying. So yah, either some way to repose or break and get some blocks back would be nice to see.
I've encountered a bug with the playername thing. When I enter my own name (dalek955), it shows my skin from the neck down, but acts as though I have a complete, all-black hat layer. I don't have a hat layer at all. ???
Also, could you include a way to make the statue not show any skin at all (even Steve?'s) and just be 100% natural block texture? If yes, thanks!
Really liking the mod otherwise though. I'm having lots of fun trying out creative statue materials (vines and quartz ore are particularly interesting), and once I settle down and start using the mod normally, it'll be an excellent companion to Bibliocraft. Nice work!

The posing screen retains whatever pose you did last, so get the pose right with cheap blocks like planks, then recast it with the expensive stuff.
You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
I like this mod and all, but could you add regular mobs to make as statues? I lost my pup of 3 months due to a surface fire. I miss him dearly, and want to make a memorial. I want to place a statue of him, but there aren't any 1.6.4 mods that will allow it. Please help!
Not a huge issue, but Minecraft crashes if you try to make a statue out of a Thaumcraft 4 Infernal Furnace. I think it's because the furnace is a multiblock construct whose blocks only exist as part of the whole.

Why this sudden epidemic of unspoilered crash logs? Half the threads I follow have sprouted one in the last couple days, it's really annoying.
crash log
Personally, I think Bibliocraft has better options for display cases anyway. I only use the actual statues from this mod.

Suggestion: Everything in the recipes that can be oredicted should be. For instance, the dyes in the palette recipe should be dyeGreen, dyeBlue, and dyeRed, not specifically the vanilla dyes. To my knowledge, all the items in the recipes have standard oredict entries that should probably be used instead of the direct item references.
Edit: Also maybe the palette recipe could be shapeless?
Love the mod but whenever you point at a statue the sky and UI flicker is eye destroying. Any chance of a fix?

Love this mod!! This is almost exactly the kind of thing I have been wanting for some time now. I do have one request/suggestion though. Not sure if this was ever mentioned yet, but is there a way to make a skin on a statue permanent? I'm wanting to make a sort of "skin display" of all of my favorite skins, but when I make a statue of myself and then change skins the statue's skin changes with me. If that kind of thing is possible I'd really love that!!

Like some kind of tile entity holding a skin file locally, that you can turn painted statues into?

Yeah something like that! Or maybe a button in the menu when using the hammer to upload a skin file for the statue to be crafted into. Either way really

As far is I can tell, anything that isn't a tile entity works (even trapdoors and vines), apart from a rare few like torches and bedrock.
its inspired by this picture:
