Hello,
I am a newbie. We want to get some mods. I downloaded Forge10.12.0.1025 , and I am running it on V 1.7.2. We have Windows XP. Lucky Block is the only mod I have downloaded so far, and it may be the last if I can't figure out what went wrong. It's probably something simple. Here's the crash report:

Forgive me for posting such a noobish comment, but as someone with almost no programming experience, I have no idea how to add things to the lucky block drop table. I wanted to try and add a few items from Tinker's Construct and Twilight Forest to the drops.
Why is this coming up when i break a lucky block? It was fine before but all of a sudden that, is it because i did it in a cave?? The rest of the time it was fine when on land. Please tell me/fix this, thank you.

Forgive me for posting such a noobish comment, but as someone with almost no programming experience, I have no idea how to add things to the lucky block drop table. I wanted to try and add a few items from Tinker's Construct and Twilight Forest to the drops.
First, you'll need the item IDs for whatever items you want. You can discover them by pressing f3+h (or fn+f3+h) at the same time, then hovering over the item should show a number (thanks, PlayerInDistress!) If that doesn't work for some reason, downloading TMI (TooManyItems) and peering into the item lists should show you the item ID. I thought looking into my mods .cfg files for item ids would work, but in my case it didn't for whatever reason.
Then, follow this syntax and paste this into your LuckyBlockProperties file, which is found under your config > lucky folder. You can just open the file with Notepad. Place these entries wherever it fits most in the entry. If you want a block, add this entry in the Blocks area, Items in the Items area, etc.
/your items here
ID=(the item ids you want here),amount=(how many you want here, if you just want 1, don't bother adding the amount entry)
You may find items that give a weird ID, for instance I modded my file to include dropping Infinity Orbs from Ars Magica. Their IDs for me show up as ID 20261:10 for blue, 20261:11 for green, and 20261:12 for red. Should you find an item you want displaying this, you'll need to lay out your item like this...
To take it a step further, let's say I wanted an entry so it could randomly give me a large entry of items. For instance, I use the Spellbound mod and I modded my lucky blocks to give me literally any of those tablets, and thus my entry into the LuckyBlocksProperties.txt file appears as such.
Hopefully this info helps. It's pretty easy once you play around with it for a bit! For references sake, here's my entire LuckyBlockProperties.txt file, though I don't recommend copy+pasting mine into yours as I doubt we're running the same mods.

WARNING:
The first line indicates the version of this file.
If it does not match the version of the mod, this file will be replaced.
Backup this file if you want to keep any changes you made to it.
Instruction on how to customize the Lucky Block might be added
For now, look at everything below the '>drops' line to understand the syntax.
~SPAWNRATE~
The spawnrate means the Lucky Block will have a 1 in (spawnrate) chance of spawning per chunk.
This means the smaller the spawnrate, the more likely it is to spawn. Set it to 0 to prevent natural spawning.
~RECIPE~
To configure the recipe, use the first 3 groups of letters to show what the recipe will look like in the crafting table.
A space instead of a letter will indicate that nothing goes there. Then, match each letter to it's appropriate item/block.
Look below to understand. for no recipe, don't put anything below the recipe line.
/colorful pole
group(type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=14,posYOffset=0;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=1,posYOffset=10;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=4,posYOffset=20;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=5,posYOffset=30;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=3,posYOffset=40;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=11,posYOffset=50;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=10,posYOffset=60;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=2,posYOffset=70;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=159,damage=6,posYOffset=80;type=structure,name=fallingblock,ID=57,posYOffset=90)

Thanks for that write up! The reason mod ids may not have worked, is because, most item ids from mods have 256 added to them for some reason. So it should work if you subtract 256 from the mod ids you see on any config file, and write in that id.

Also, and I bet most people don't even know this, if you are playing Minecraft and you press f3+h (press the f3 and h key at the same time, you also might need to press fn+f3+h, depending on your keyboard) it will make all item tooltips show the id of the item! So if you put your mouse over an item you can see the exact id. Easier than having to download tmi. Also, in future versions, it will show the 'command name' as well (e.g. minecraft:wooden_planks).

That's gonna save me a lot of time, thanks for the knowledge! I'll edit my post up above to reflect on this
-Updated to 1.7.2 Forge!
-Added Lucky Blocks in Bonus, Blacksmith, Dungeon, Temples, and Stronghold Chests (Chance of Spawning is Random)
-Lucky Blocks Can Drop Other Lucky Blocks
-Lucky Blocks Can Send You to Different Dimensions
-Lucky Blocks Can Grow Trees ~ ~ ~
-Lucky Blocks Can Spawn Signs With Different Splashes on Them (Default and maybe Custom?)
Cool ideas. I especially like the splashes one. However, I will not update until MCP has been properly released, because, at the moment, it is insanely difficult and confusing to write mods with forge. Here are some of the ideas that I have had.
1. Make lucky block NBT system easier (less brackets, more like commands)
2. Make custom potions and enchantments easier to add.
3. (Big one) Luck levels - adding 'good' items to the crafting recipe will make a lucky block have a higher luck level, so it has more chance of dropping something good. Bad items decrease luck level.
Currently, there is no way to make it spawn in other dimensions. I have been thinking of adding it to the nether for a while, so that might be a future feature. As for twilight forrest, though, it is pretty difficult to make mods work specifically with other mods, so unfortunately that wont work
dear mod maker plzz fix this problem on your mod when ever I brake one mestery block my game crashes and restes the world it is on 1.6.4 plzzz fix it and remember to be prud of your self and give your self a pat on the bake becous your mod is one of the beast mods in the world try to fix it thx for your time bye

Probably you should try downloading the newest version, if you haven't already. Some older versions have issues. Otherwise, I can only help if you post the crash report.
I have a lot of ideas for Lucky Blocks! Its my 3rd favorite mod ( Biomes O' Plenty and Mo' Creatures will always be 1 and 2).
-Lucky Block Spawns Pigs...Tons of Pigs...
-Lucky Block Spawns A 9x9 Hole To The Void
-Lucky Block Drops A Sponge Named "SpongeBob"
-Lucky Block Spawns A Witch Named "Squidward"
-Lucky Block Spawns A Village House (Big One) With Furniture And Other Decor ~ ~ ~ [RARE!]
-Lucky Block Spawns A Chest With Nothing In It
-Added New Mob Called "Lucky Imposter" ; Spawns Just Like Lucky Block; When Someone Attempts To Break The Block, It Pops To Life And Attacks; When Crafting Lucky Blocks, Small Chance You Will Craft A "Lucky Imposter", When Placed, Will Immediately Attack
-Lucky Block Spawns An Angry Wolf
-Lucky Block Spawns One Block Of Lava ~ ~ ~

ID=20261,damage=10
/greenorbtest
ID=20261,damage=11
/redorbtest
ID=20261,damage=12
To take it a step further, let's say I wanted an entry so it could randomly give me a large entry of items. For instance, I use the Spellbound mod and I modded my lucky blocks to give me literally any of those tablets, and thus my entry into the LuckyBlocksProperties.txt file appears as such.
group(ID=random-27017-27108,amount=random-4-12,reinitialize=true)
>IDs
850
>spawnrate
0
>recipe

No problem!
Thanks for the info as well!
That's gonna save me a lot of time, thanks for the knowledge! I'll edit my post up above to reflect on this
-Added Lucky Blocks in Bonus, Blacksmith, Dungeon, Temples, and Stronghold Chests (Chance of Spawning is Random)
Just some ideas!
THANKS SO MUCH!!
Probably you should try downloading the newest version, if you haven't already. Some older versions have issues. Otherwise, I can only help if you post the crash report.
