Hi, I'm trying to repair my boots of the traveller, and was wondering if there are any items that can repair the boots besides a copy of them in the anvil ? I've tried wool and string and thaumium, gold, iron, etc... Just wondering if there is an actual item to repair them. I'm guessing not b/c they are infusion crafting ? maybe ? Since the goggle of revealing can be repaired with gold and those are not infusion crafted. And yes i know you can enchant with repair, but i turn the repair enchant off in my config.

Give you a hint: What material were the original boots you infused to make them?

You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
Is there a way to secure the area? A port between Towny and Thaumcraft? In Thaumcraft are a few things that make Towny useless.
What does Towny do?

Towny is a Bukkit plugin that allows the creation of protected "towns" within which, by default, only residents of the town can break or place blocks. It can also restrict monster spawning within towns. However, it is not aware of certain devices like the Thaumcraft Arcane Bore or the IC2 mining laser, and these are able to bypass its protections. (The Buildcraft quarry used to be in that set too, but now I actually had to jump through considerable hoops to figure out the right configuration settings to allow a town's owner to use a quarry within town limits. Fillers are still problematic in this regard — it's quite difficult to get the permissions right to allow them to place blocks.)
So Googlefu searches found Azanor's post about why essentia tubes cause fps loss, but this was all related to calculations required when essentia is being sent somewhere. That would make me assume there is no fps loss when the system isn't in use; however, I'm experiencing heavy fps loss just looking in that direction when the chunk is loaded. I hadn't been having fps loss up until this point, so I built my whole AM and Thaumcraft base smack dab in the middle of my player-controlled Millenaire town with 60+ residents. Everything was great until I set up my essentia room, but now I'm dropping 25-ish fps whenever I look at my castle in the center of town.
Is everyone else experiencing fps loss when the system isn't running? This is with 4 jars of each essentia type, so a total of 200 warded jars in the system with about 220 total tubes.

I have an intentionally stupid question that I am asking partially because I want to generate honest discussion about it and mostly because I'm really quite stupid:
What are some good use cases for the Centrifuge? The only examples I can think of are breaking Praecantatio from a nether wart farm into Potentia to fuel a harness (which is silly because coal and charcoal are so easy) and breaking down useless Arbor into Herba to grow more plants.
Now, I haven't built a centrifuge yet (or even pipes) because of the perceived pointlessness of it all. Perhaps someone can tell me what (or just off) it's good for?

Well pipes aren't useless, though I too don't use the centrifuge. Pipes are better than golems though, since
a ) they aren't limited by range, so you can do a long nice corridor with essentia on both sides.
b ) You can incorporate many additional warded jars for each essence type and not worry about linking golems to them all, or cramming them all out in the open where golems can reach and your OCD nature has a fit at the untidiness of it all.
c ) Tubes, unlike golems, don't occasionally forget where void jars are and thus don't stand around with essentia in their hands holding the whole system up because they don't want to use the void jar in the back.
d ) Tubes are FAST. I use three rows of alembics at a time when I break things down, and the tubes keep up with everything at once. Golems could never do that.
I find the filtered tubes to be useless though. Unless you're leaving space between your types of warded jars, you can't use filtered tubes at all. Since you're already limited by using only the top of the jars, the only way to run pipes is overhead, and having one run down the middle of your room and branching out to all the jars on the sides looks retarded, so I end up running down each side directly over the first row of jars. Nowhere to put filtered tubes. If we have a way to wrench them in the future to detach them from adjacent rows, I'd use them in a heartbeat and spend less time hunting slimes for labels.

Vitium into Perditio (for the bore and making alumentum) and Praecantatio (for enchanting), Gelum into Ordo (otherwise hard to get), Arbor into Herba (for the lamp of growth), Fabrico (easy to get from crafting benches) into Instrumentum, Humanus and Metallum, Iter and Volatus into Motus (for golems and such), Sensus and Cognitio into Spiritus(likewise).
You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!
If you have lots of cobblestone perditio is never worth breaking down for. Praecantatio and herba are extremely easy to get with a decent sized netherwart farm. You'll never want for your enchants or lamp of growth once you set it up. Ordo you can get tons of from silverwood trees, and you generally get a sapling per large-ish tree, so once you have your axe of the stream you can keep growing/chopping them. Personally I use chiseled stone crafted from AM. Instrumentum you'll always have tons of once you can do infusion enchants. Get treasure or fortune and mass equal trade gravel - 100% conversion. Humanus you'll always have as well from zombie flesh. That gets a void jar pretty quickly. Motus is annoying to get, but I generally autocraft swiftness potions for them. Ten or so will fill a jar. Spiritus is easy enough to get with Soul Sand, unless you get unlucky finding it in the nether. Usually in clumps of several hundred at a time though.

If you have a small tree farm (and who doesn't?) crafting stacks upon stacks of trap doors is an easy way to get Motus. Will have to look into the swiftness potions, though. Those are made from sugar if I remember correctly?
I get most of my Ordo by spinning down metallum, which I get from junk armor and tools looted from chests or zombies, or by burning some metal ingots if I have plenty to spare. I actually find I don't seem to need much Ordo, compared to some other aspects and I hate cutting down the silverwoods

Sometimes you Diamond and sometimes you just Die...

Vitium is rare enough for me that I don't even want to think about centrifuging it. That stuff is reserved for ethereal blooms. Cobblestone = Perdito (and if I'm really hurting I'll just take a stack of saplings and carve out a rock face with my Equal Trade wand). Gelum into ordo sounds good, but IIRC there's not a lot of call for it. Everything else I can see the use for. Thanks.
Again, the only real long term reward I can think of is turning Praecantatio into Potentia for my harness and my gobs of arbor (left over from extracting motus from trapdoors) into Herba. I could also turn fabrico into instrumentum if I used the Thaumic Restorer, but I've got Ars Magica 2 and three light nexuses for a Reconstructor. I've had some bad experiences with infusion (thanks for turning up the difficulty on that, Azanor! Really, no sarcasm here.) so I don't feel like making one.
Hmm. So, potentia, herba, and the two golemcrafting ones that are annoying to extract. That sounds like it's worthwhile.
To be honest, I'd like to see taint afflicted areas to become absolutely terrifying. I don't know what you have planned for it in the future, but I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I'd like to ask a question that's probably a lot stupider than Scorch238's, but I'm not trying to intentionally make it stupid, it just is, OK?
The flavor text for jars and phials hints at some mundane uses, filling either with some other things than essentia. So has anyone come up with a particular thing to fill phials or warded jars with where this is actually useful?
I seem to have a problem with the crucible. I almost immediately get tainted goo and the crucible will not release it into the atmosphere to evaporate.
For example I want to make a golem.
I throw in 4 trap doors, 4 rotten flesh and 4 soul sand then the hay bale.
I get the straw golem but now with and extra 4 Terra, 4 Vinculum, 8 Arbor and 8 Corpus the taint pretty much immediately floods over.
I've resorted to surrounding my crucible with glass and sealing it off just after I get my item but this doesn't solve the problem.
shift right clicking the crucible with the wand doesn't release the remaining aspects into the air. It did seem to work once but 99% of the time nothing happens.
I've don't have many mods on the server and I've tried removing ones that might interfere with interactions with objects, like MCMMO, but no luck.
Any ideas?

I use a thaumic slime farm to get XP, so I have Vitium coming out my ears. I actually have to start throwing stacks of tainted goo into the incinerator, even after using some to refuel the flux crucible and some more to centrifuge out all the Praecantatio my infusion enchanting chews up. Another use for Fabrico is that if you centrifuge the Instrumentum again, you get Metallum that you can use to make iron.
As for your infusion problems, symmetry is the key. Each item, and each piece of arcane paraphernelia, has to be balanced by a second item exactly across from it. I had so much trouble with three-item infusions before I figured it out, since if you arrange three items so that they look symmetrical, none of them will be balanced.

Ok, maybe I'm stupid but are their some conditions for creating the infusion alter that I am unaware of? I built the structure as proscribed in the thaumonomicon, right click on the runic matrix with my wand and ... nothing. I've dismantled it and rebuilt it twice. I changed all the blocks under it from half slabs to full blocks and still nothing. I've recharged the wand to full and still no go. Am I missing something?
EDIT: Please ignore this post, I am actually stupid (multiple days of no sleep) and was misreading how much vis was required for the transformation,
Hi forum users! I'm from Russia, so I apologize for my English. I am looking for a man who will be able to tie bukkit events to fashion thaumcraft 4. Naturally for a fee. Thank you for read it! I hope that there will be people who can help.
Thanks

Well i've tried leather, leather boots, air shards, fish, feathers, and enchanted fabric, nothing works.

Huh. I could have sworn it was leather.
Yea that's why I was confused i've tried quite a few different things and haven't figured it out, i'm guessing its because its infusion crafted maybe?
