I'm no longer working on Ex Nihilo for 1.7 and choosing to instead focus my efforts on it's sequel. If you ask the modder who is currently maintaining the mod, he will likely do that for you. You can find his bug tracker where you can post a request @ https://bitbucket.org/MikeLydeamore/ex-nihilo/issues?status=new&status=open
Since everyone started moving to curseforge, they don't say what version of forge their mods need. What version of forge does Ex Nihilo 1.38-40 need? I'm using 10.13.2.1291 and getting a crash due to barrels. I'm afraid it needs a version of forge with the fluid changes, but that'll break other mods I need. If so, what version of Ex Nihilo can I downgrade to?

That is a very good point. The latest builds (1.38-40 & 1.38-41) are definitely built using Forge 10.13.3.1408. Prior to that is a little murky. The update in the source code happened on May 20th. Before that date they were built using Forge 10.13.2.1291, so anything before that should work fine for you. I would suggest trying 1.38-36.

Loved this mod ever since I played Agrarian Skies. I hope you keep the mod updated for the next couple versions. It'd be a shame if this gem would be lost.
There really should be. I've been doing a lot of discussion on my bug tracker and on Twitter that would probably be better in a forum thread. I'll see about making one.
Here you go! http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/wip-mods/2439809-ex-nihilo-2
will there be an ex nihilo 2 forum now?
I don't think so.
A few people have made suggestions on my bug tracker, and thats probably as far as I'll go towards having my own forum.
or a new thread? don't mean to pester, just wondering.
EDIT: Ohhh...didnt see that last post. cool! ill be checking there now.
If you'd like to see my modpack (as you said in the forum) heres a link lol
