Have you ever wanted to control Minecraft with the new Leap Motion Controller? Now you can!
After receiving my Leap, I thought to myself, "Why can't I control Minecraft with this?"... because no feasible method existed to do so, of course. Leapcraft aims to correct that, and actually allow you to control Minecraft with the Leap.
NOTE: If the name isn't evident enough, this mod requires the Leap Motion Controller to operate.
Use one finger above the Leap to look around. Multiple fingers are supported, but may be buggy.
Make a very slight downwards motion with the tip of your finger to place the block currently in your hand.
Move your finger forward into the "touch zone" to break blocks/attack entities.
Ideally, you should be using the left hand on your movement keys and the right hand to look around/place/break/attack (or vice versa if you normally use the left hand for movement keys).
Installation Instructions
Download Leapcraft.
Read the READ_ME_FIRST.txt.
Add everything from the ADD-TO-.MINECRAFT-FOLDER to your .minecraft folder.
Navigate to your .minecraft folder. Find the versions folder.
Copy the 1.6.2.jar from the .minecraft/versions/1.6.2 folder to the .minecraft/versions/Leap-1.6.2 folder. Make sure the jar is named "Leap-1.6.2.jar".
Open Leap-1.6.2.jar with your favorite archiving program.
Delete META-INF!
Drag everything from inside the ADD-TO-LEAP-1.6.2.jar folder in the Leapcraft ZIP into the Leap-1.6.2.jar.
Create a new profile in Minecraft, using the version "release Leap-1.6.2".
You're done!
Known Bugs
Sometimes while placing a block, your view will appear to move up and down rapidly. Workaround: Make a smaller motion with your finger.
Sometimes, your finger's position is incorrect compared to where you are looking. Workaround: Press ESC (to access the in-game menu), move your finger to where you would like it to be, then resume the game.
Attacking entities is buggy. This will be fixed in a future release.
Planned Features
Virtual mouse cursor to completely eliminate the need for a mouse.
More realistic gestures.
This mod is still in beta, and I'll be updating it to add more features and fix bugs quite often.

Thanks for this mod, Forairan. I have a laptop projecting to a big screen TV. I'm standing in front of the screen waving my hand to build. Block placement vs attack is indeed a little sensitive, and it would be awesome to use my left hand to move around. A gesture to activate inventory, switching to pointer mode would be cool. Looking forward to your continued development.
Hi, I'm using a mac and I'm having some problems. Whenever I launch the game, I get this error:
Couldn't download https://s3.amazonaws.../Leap-1.6.2.jar for job 'Version & Libraries'
It looks like your launcher is trying to download the jar. Did you follow the installation instructions properly, including copying versions/1.6.2/1.6.2.jar to versions/Leap-1.6.2/Leap-1.6.2.jar and adding the ADD-TO-LEAP-1.6.2.jar files to it?

Yes, I followed all of the instructions.
wouldn't supplying the jar file be easier?
Hello! I have followed all of the instructions but seem to be coming to the same problem as augustt1998. I can't seem to get past that point. Please help me! I can't wait to start playing minecraft with my Leap Controller!
This is awesome! But I have some suggestions. On the controls you should make it so your hand can stay in one place and you point it around. And also putting your thumb right next to your finger should be attack/brake block. And right click should be moving your finger forward. Hope you'll read this!
Thanks and Grate Mod!
PS: I would love to do a mod spotlight on this!
I have been testing and will continue to as i see updates here are my findings currently
Works with
- MagicLauncher (once you add mod manually, haven't tested with installing mod via launcher)
- Current 1.6.2 versions of Optifine (HD_U-B4)
- ZombeMod Pack Works with this mod installed (no movement editions yet until character movement is implemented)
Issues I Found
- Block placement is a little fidgety but it does work once you figure out the exact movement
- as stated hitting mobs is buggy
I also may make a short video of the current version of it if you would allow me to.
A Very quick mod review of whats currently in the mod, and showing how the leap motion works with it in the corner

pls watch my videosI'd love if you could check out my channel.Haha yeah... if only.
How accurate do you think you can recognize gestures with this device? This could be the start of something cool...
It's still in beta and being worked on a lot. I'm thinking of a few different gestures - I'll see what I can come up with.

Do you know what could be causing this?
Can you paste the full launcher log?
here it is!

I can't legally supply the JAR file, as per Minecraft's Terms of Service - sorry.
Ah, ok. I made a quick video showing how I installed it... I'm pretty sure I've done everything right?
You're extracting the Leap-1.6.2.jar. Once you add the files to the JAR, you need to re-create the JAR file (or just edit it in the first place).
Thank you so much! Great mod.
