About: DivineOres is (currently) a small mod that is meant to run alongside any other mod or vanilla Minecraft without interrupting the feel of the game. It (currently) adds 2 new ores, 2 pickaxes, 2 swords, 6 items, 2 mobs, and 2 armor sets.
Background: Long before Steve found himself alone in a new land, the world had fallen to corruption. The war of the Heavens descended upon the Overworld of Mincraftia, covering it's surface with a layer of blood. But these times are long since forgotten, the damages lost to the elements of erosion and creation, the crust of the Overworld replenishing itself to it's natural state. So what is left to show the events of time's past? Deep in the Earth, remnants of the war still remain. Holy Crosses are compressed with stone and demonic Blood Pentagrams are still etched in the deepest rock. Can you find the ancient relics of the great battle of Heaven? Can you take up the armor of an angel, and fight against the evils of the world? Or will you walk over the grasses of your planet, strengthened and cloaked by the very powers that sought to destroy it? The choice is yours.

Hello, just wanted to say this mod is now on INFINITE HIATUS, meaning that I do not plan to update it, but it's also not impossible. Thanks for the downloads and kind words, I had a lot of fun working on it. I will be releasing a new mod for 1.12.2, so please stay tuned for that!

Ores
The two ores have the exact same spawning conditions/frequency, so it's hard to say what you'll find first.
HolyOre:
HolyOre is a cross that has been imbedded in stone by the harsh pressure of the crust above it. It was probably used by an angel in battle. When broken, a HolyOre drops 5 Holy Cross Shards, which are then used to craft various things (see "Recipies" below). They generate at 16 or below, and are slightly rarer than diamond, never occurring in veins more than 4. It also gives off a slight glow.
DemonicOre:
DemonicOre is a pentagram that was drawn with blood and magically imbedded in stone. It was probably used by a demon for battle. When broken, a DemonicOre drops 5 Blood Pentagram Shards, which are then used to craft various things (see "Recipies" below). They generate at 16 or below, and are slightly rarer than diamond, never occurring in veins more than 4.
Tools/Weapons
Currently there are only 4 total tools/weapons in DivineOres.

Let's start with the Pickaxes.
The Holy Pickaxe is made of diamonds and a Holy Cross as well as Holy Cross Pieces. It's the most expensive tool to make, and is well worth it's price.
Durability: 1500
Efficiency: 14
Enchantability: 5
Ability: If you right click while holding this pick, you will gain Mining Haste for 15 seconds. Beware however, this uses 10 durability every time. These stats make the Holy Pickaxe good, except it's rather low enchantability (a characteristic of all Holy items).
Next is, of course, the Demonic Pickaxe. This tool is made from a Blood Pentagram, a couple Blood Pentagram Shards, and Bones for the handle (see Recipes).
Durability: 1100
Efficiency: 12
Enchantability: 30
Ability: If you right click while holding this pick, you will gain Night Vision for 15 seconds. Beware however, this uses 10 durability every time. This tool may be weaker in durability and mining speed (efficiency), but it more than makes up for it with it's high enchantability (a characteristic of all Demonic items).
Now, onto Weapons.
The first weapon we have is the Holy Sword.
Durability: 1500
Damage: 12
Efficiency: 14 (for blocks such as spiderwebs/leaves/glass/etc.)
Enchantability: 5
Ability: If you right click while holding this sword, you will gain Absorption & Jump Boost for 15 seconds. Beware however, this uses 10 durability every time.
Next, it's evil counterpart, the Demonic Sword.
Durability: 1800
Damage: 10
Efficiency: 12 (for blocks such as spiderwebs/leaves/glass/etc.)
Enchantability: 30
Ability: If you right click while holding this sword, you will gain Strength, Invisibility for 15 seconds. Beware however, this uses 10 durability every time.
This is all the tools/weapons that are currently in the mod, check the "Planned Features" area to see what I have in mind for the future.
Armors
There are two full sets of armor in the mod as of right now: Holy Armor
Durability: 1500
Defense Provided: 35
Enchantability: 5
Ability: When equipped with a FULL SET of this armor, you will have constant Jump Boost, and Move Speed.
Demonic Armor
Durability: 1100
Defense Provided: 30
Enchantability: 30
Ability: When equipped with a FULL SET of this armor, you will have constant Fire Resistance, and Night Vision.
Holy Wingplate & Demonic Wingplate
These items provide the same stat bonuses etc, as the other full sets, but also grant limited flight, about 4sec for demon, 5sec for holy.
Mobs/Entities
These are the current mobs:
Angel
The angel is a strong mob that is found above 100 height, so look in the Extreme Hills for them to spawn.
They have a 25% chance to drop a Tattered Angel Wing, which is used to craft the Holy Wingplate.
Demon
The demon is a strong mob that is found below 16 height, so look deep underground for them to spawn.
They have a 25% chance to drop a Tattered Demon Wing, which is used to craft the Demon Wingplate.

Installation
First thing you want to do is make sure you have the latest recommended version of Minecraft Forge installed. This can be found Here.
Then all you need to do is drag the file you downloaded above into the mods folder, and you're good to go!

Cool textures, but how about some unique abilities or whatever in the mod?
That's what I'll be working on after I re-texture some of the items & armor. I'm not extremely well versed in Java, but at the very least I'll be able to add built-in enchantments. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out custom abilities though, because those are considerably cooler than enchantments.

I am sorry to disappoint, but I just updated most of the textures and also changed a couple crafting recipes. I do not wish to publicize the older textures and the incorrect recipes. Nice! Maybe you could add some new mobs that fit into the concept, eg angels, and demons.
Yep! If you check the Planned Feature section, you'll see I do plan to add a couple (if not more) mobs to the game. However, I am currently working on the custom abilities and then may be moving on to adding wings as well. The mobs will come in time.

Hey everyone! Version 1.2 is out, and I've added some pretty cool features.
If you head up and check out the Tools/Weapons, and the Armors Sections, you'll notice that I have added custom effects for everything! All the effects are in the information and are underlined so you can find them easily. I have also added a config generation so you will be able to change the IDs of the items/blocks (unsure of why I didn't put this in immediately..).
Anyways, I hope everyone is having a good weekend and happy Minecrafting!

If you still have Forge installed properly and the only thing that is missing is the folder named "mods," you can simply create it yourself and re-add the mods. If that doesn't work I recommend a fresh install.

Really nice language, not hard to grasp at all. As for where the idea for the mod came from, I'm not entirely certain, haha. I was working on a second mod, I actually have a little of it done, but ended up stopping it. I was considering merging it into this mod the next time I update it, but I'll just have to see when that happens.

Nothing huge, I'm a big Japanophile, so I was going to make a mod with a bunch of Shinto stuff in it. Things like randomly generating shrines, protection charms, sacred swords, that sort of thing.

I am sorry to disappoint, but I just updated most of the textures and also changed a couple crafting recipes. I do not wish to publicize the older textures and the incorrect recipes. If you still wish to make a mod review, please wait until version 2.0 is released in a couple weeks. If you decide to make an updated one at that time, I will add it to the mod description, Thanks!
Yep! If you check the Planned Feature section, you'll see I do plan to add a couple (if not more) mobs to the game. However, I am currently working on the custom abilities and then may be moving on to adding wings as well. The mobs will come in time.

If you head up and check out the Tools/Weapons, and the Armors Sections, you'll notice that I have added custom effects for everything!
All the effects are in the information and are underlined so you can find them easily.
I have also added a config generation so you will be able to change the IDs of the items/blocks (unsure of why I didn't put this in immediately..).

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoy it. I have a hard time loving the textures, but if you like them, then I must've done something right.
I think the effects still may be a bit over-powered, try it out though and let me know what you think.
If you still have Forge installed properly and the only thing that is missing is the folder named "mods," you can simply create it yourself and re-add the mods. If that doesn't work I recommend a fresh install.

Oh sorry, didn't see that! Yes, it is indeed my first mod. I have had coding experience in other languages, and after playing this game for a couple years now, I thought I'd give Java a shot. Really nice language, not hard to grasp at all. As for where the idea for the mod came from, I'm not entirely certain, haha. I was working on a second mod, I actually have a little of it done, but ended up stopping it. I was considering merging it into this mod the next time I update it, but I'll just have to see when that happens.

Nothing huge, I'm a big Japanophile, so I was going to make a mod with a bunch of Shinto stuff in it. Things like randomly generating shrines, protection charms, sacred swords, that sort of thing.
Ah. I've already got something like a small shrine from Xerxes weapons, which is mostly just a small log structure with a chest in it, holding broken katanas and Zombie Flesh and Bones.
