Lapis. Its everywhere. Now that you have your fancy pickaxes with fortune enchantments you have stacks of it. Its completely useless in every way, unless you want hundreds of blue sheep. With this mod you can now use lapis to do useful things! This mod adds a variety of lapis goodies including armour, tools and even ingots to craft them! The tools and armour in this mod are crafted like normal tools and armour, using a lapis lazuli ingot as the tool material which can be made by smelting a lapis lazuli block in a furnace.
New Stuff !
Apples!
Fuel! Burns for a while. I think nearly 2-3 times as long as coal if not more.
Bowls! Using these bowls give you more hunger back.
Some old news...
Jackolanterns and ingot blocks crafted like this:
And I even remembered to make the blocks uncraftable:
New! Lapis Torches! These snazzy blue torches emit the same amount of light as normal torches and are crafted like this:
Lapis Necklace! Added for NethanielShade and crafted like this:
I also made lapis tools and armour more balanced.
Included In This Mod
Lapis Lazuli Flower Pots! Put your plants in these beautiful blue pots!Crafted like this:
Tool Information:
Lapis Tools have a durability (max uses) of 185 (more than gold, less than iron). Lapis Pickaxes currently have a harvest level of 2, meaning they can harvest anything but obsidian. Lapis tools are fairly fast, faster than iron, but slower than diamond. Lapis Armour have a max damage factor of 20, while diamond is 33. A full set of Lapis armour fills the armour bar by half. Both the tools and the armour have high enchantability factors.

Traditionally, lapis lazuli, a semi-precious stone rather than a metal (though blue is a very nice look on that armour), was used for jewellery, ornate carved stoneware, and illumination of manuscripts. (And dye, which Minecraft already covers). Perhaps in Minecraft it could also be used as an alternate source of ink (while outside the scope of your mod, it would work very well as an ingredient for special books made in other mods), and there might be some furniture items that could be carved from Lapis and look good.
Ok. I'll look into some other items I could add. The whole point of this mod is that lapis has barely any uses. I though that lots of people would really like the dark blue armour. I could remove lapis ingot and just make the crafting done with blocks, if you think that would be better. I know that it a semi precious stone and not a metal, but when you think about it diamond isn't a metal either. I know its not the most sturdy of materials but I counted for that by making it have fairly low durability. I could lower it further if you think it would be more to scale, but I don't want it so low that its a waste to craft these items. Anyway, thanks for your advice and ill see what else I can add. Looking forward to any more advice or comments you have to make. Thanks
Ahh, Minecraft does have different laws of nature, after all, so I wouldn't worry. Though if you wanted to be realistic you could use it to make lacquer which could then be combined with vanilla armours to make your improved blue versions, which would be sort of historical.
Your blue armour is nice looking stuff, so no arguments from me however its made.
Thanks. Do you think it would be good to add books that store your exp out of lapis? Also, what kind of furniture were you thinking?
I hadn't really thought about it Lapis used to be carved into vases, bowls, and that sort of thing. I guess a blue bowl would be nice! Or in lacquer form it could be painted on pretty much anything you wanted.
I could add vases that are like flowerpots if you think that's ok. I'm not sure about bowls. Do you want them placeable, or like a mushroom soup bowl?
It's all OK I was thinking of the usable sort of bowl, but if there's placeable ones I expect people would like those too. I'm not much of a decorator myself, but many folks are. Whatever you decide to make, I'm sure there will be people who will use and enjoy it.
I could do a bowl that is like mushroom soup but stackable or restores more hunger?
I have a few ideas if you're looking for more items to add into the game. Lapis slabs and stairs, just as there are quartz. Along with those, you could probably add, say, Lapis necklaces and circlets. I find I never wear armor in minecraft, but jewelery (If cool-enough looking) might be something I wear just to take up the empty spaces. My reasoning? I normally love the skins I have on and armor blocks it, but I don't like the empty spaces. A lapis necklace could fill it nicely.
EDIT:I wrote this as Zolandre did. Looks like he beat me to it, but still. Take the necklaces into consideration.

I've just captured an important moment in your minecraft forums history. You're welcome.

I could make chestplate that is textured like a necklace but textured so it only takes up a little bit of the skin, so you cant even tell its a chestplate, is that what you meant?

Exactly what I meant. I have the model textured here, as an example. It was done in mere seconds and you don't have to use it. Basically, I copied the diamond armor model texture, made the necklace where the front of the chestplate is, and deleted everything else:
Lol... It's so small, mere pixels. But you should get the idea.

Ok I'll work on it for the next update. I'll have an update tonight and one by the end of the week. I'll put that in the second one.

Maybe add crafting recipes for the items it adds in the post?
Thanks for the support. Let me know if you find any bugs so I can squash them.
Ok, I'll say something about the recipes.
Anyways, adding this to the mod list.
Ok thanks. I'll check today whether you can or not. If you can I'll edit the post. Thanks
EDIT: I checked and it can just be put in the mods folder. I'll edit the post now
