im not able to code or anything like that but an idea is like a very powerful tool found in the chest but its super rare? or a randomly rare chance of getting a bonus map for bonus treasure that is always good?

I can add maps to the loot tables I suppose, it's something easy. For more items, I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I'm not certain if I want to make them part of this mod or make it an optional mod separated from this one. Omnipotence from the original version of the mod was a great tool but was very rare, I'm not sure if you ever got your hands on one.
I'd say ditch the idea of adding extra tools in chest...
but configurable loot?
Depending on:
What mob dropped it
Structures they appear in
Rarity of items
Difficulty of map
Difficulty of map will increase or decrease rarity of items.
The others are pretty self-explanatory.
What do you mean adding extra tools in the chest?
Anyway, loot is configurable per difficulty (via the files), but the structures are picked after the chest is generated. I'm not sure how one would base the rarity of loot based on the rarity of the loot, that seems a bit over-defined haha. However, I may be able to add a reader in the table that allows custom weight shifts for mobs, namely zombie might have a shift of 1, creeper of 2, enderman could have 5, etc. but it would allow the rarity to be adjusted based on the mob. Of course, that all comes into play with the luck variable as well.
I like the ideas, but a bit more explanation or mathematics behind it would be appreciated.

I must have misunderstood the tool thing, ignore please XD
I can't really explain anymore because you understood everthing.
The maths would depend on the person configuring it.
Well, I haven't kept up too well, but as I've mentioned before, I'd like to see more variety in how hunts play out.
For instance, instead of finding a chest at the map location, you might find a statue on a plinth. Once you activate it, it adds the possibility for a key item to be found. Then you have to get that item off a mob or from a different treasure, and bring it back to click on the statue with, revealing a hidden compartment in the base. Or a treasure might hold a "Magic Compass" that points you in a general direction, but gives no co-ordinates...and the next treasure is buried, so you have to find where the compass spins and then dig. Or have maps that always lead to a chunk you've never visited before, and place a structure there, like a small dungeon, instead of a chest. Or for another way to keep things interesting, have treasure hunts that lead to an altar, statue, or mysterious stone, which will only provide its bounty to one who figures out the correct ritual (hinted at by the map). Such rituals might be things like, "Blown up by a creeper under a full moon." or "A diamond despanws within five blocks." or "The player must stand here in a rainstorm and get hit by their own arrow." These could even have rewards that aren't normal treasure, but rather a ''permanent'' character upgrade (more hearts, boosted speed, etc...) that last until the player respawns.
...anyway, just throwing ideas at the wall to see what sticks.
EDIT: Also, if it doesn't do this already, it would be great to have a configuration setting for how the mod functions in regards to other dimensions. I'm thinking of three options. First, a choice between Restricted, Blacklist, and Whitelist modes, with those making it function only in the overworld, in any dimension not specifically prohibited, and only in specifically listed dimensions, respectively. The second option would, of course, be the White/Blacklist itself. Thirdly, a rarity offset for other dimensions, which can make treasure not found in the overworld either more or less valuable.
Since maps are scripted now, it would be possible to add the ritual stuff, but it would require me to fire every possible useful event to all maps and every map type script. It is possible, but I'm not sure how effective or efficient it would be. However, I did have intentions to make other dimensions more suitable for treasure hunting if at all possible. With things like statues, that goes more toward specifics in maps and I would have to add functions specifically for players who want to have that ability, but it isn't generic enough to be reused for other map types, if that makes sense.
I do like the rarity shift for dimensions, though, so I will definitely be adding that. I have plans in the future to add PGC for other base treasure maps altogether, but that won't be for a while, but I may be able to take some of these suggestions and put them to use there - but for the basic maps, it is hard to implement because of how they already work.
Improve the original post please.. It seems to be broken, with no pictures or videos. It's hard to read.
I moved all of the pictures to a different dropbox directory, that's why those are broken. MCF broke the formatting of the post a long time ago. I intend to redo the thread once the update is finished, because much of the post will need changed. In good time my friend.
Mod seems cool! The download link for guffcore is broken.
The links for everything in my dropbox were either removed or deleted, including pictures, text files, etc. They will all be posted again when the mods are updated.

okay, thanks for the reply. So for Now, ppl who don't already have the mods can't try it out?
I've posted links to versions of the mod and GuffCore for 1.6.4 while everyone waits for the update! Top of the first post.
haha well that's nice of you. Unfortunately for me, I'm still stuck to 1.6.2 while I wait for a few mods to update. If it's not too much trouble, can you post 1.6.2 for GuffCore? If you can't do it/too much work/you don't feel like, no problem what so ever! I might one day get to 1.6.4 or high haha.

Hmm. Alright, I will see what I can come up with for this.
Keep the helpful ideas coming everyone!

If you can think of any core necessity items that the mod really needs, shoot me a texture, info, etc. about it!

Good point. Give me a moment and I will put up downloads for GC and PR for 1.6.4 if I can find them.
