This mod makes chain, iron, gold, and diamond armor customizable. To change the color of a piece of armor, just place the piece and the dye of your choice in the crafting table. All of the dyes in the game work. Different types of base armor(Chain, Iron, Gold, Diamond) create different variations of the colors so even more customization is available. Sponges are also now craftable and used to clean the dyes from the armor. All recipes are shapeless.
1.9 -1.10.2:
ColorfulArmor got it's much needed reboot. The mod had gotten way off track with the different armors being added. This version goes back to the core purpose of the mod which is to dye your vanilla armors. While it doesn't produce the same vibrant results as before, it does stick to a more realistic pallet with the dyes. After many requests to make the mod smaller by changing the colors in the code like leather. Here is the first iteration of it. I hope you enjoy. Any questions or comments please either post or send me a pm and I will get back to you as soon as I see it.
1.12.2 +
Back to the basics I'm afraid. It makes the mod so much larger but it works. I may release a version that works like the 1.9 at some point.
Hey there! I just wanted to let you know that I've added your mod to the list as well as created some texture support for the mod for the Derivation texture pack. If you would like to, it'd be cool if you added a spoiler in the OP for Texture support, as I'd imagine this would be a nice mod for such things, given how simply the concept but nice to have in SMP it is.
I've also included the PSD files from the project in case anyone felt like making some changes themselves to what I've already done, or for anyone curious.
Enjoy!

I used to maintain the Minecraft Forums Mod List. However, life has stepped in the way of that. Perhaps later...
i think you should make it so that you can color diamond and gold armor and also a good idea would be to be able to color tools and weapons too i know it's called Colorful Armor mod but i'm just throwing out some cool suggestions for you.

It doesn't seem confusing in any way.
Great mod, by the way.
