Just finished rendering the review I made :-) Epic mod dude, my voice was kinda rusty but that's because I'm sick, uploading it to YT in like an hour from now
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Thaumcraft API, but it seems like I should get it compatible pretty soon. For now, I'm just gonna have it where it allows you to breath underwater at the cost of adding a bit of flux into the environment. It won't be a lot of flux, but abuse of the item will build up.
Edit: Showing off the new Thaumcraft Helmet. Note, it will NOT use the Scuba Textures, I was just lazy at the time.
You should add creative-only O.P. diving helm that gives you full night vision, underwater vision, and clears nether and void fog. Also, no fire damage and unlimited time underwater. should be invisible for adventure maps.

Pretty dang awesome mein freund!
Now that you've done that, once you've got a handle on the thaumcraft API..
Add it as a research branch, and perhaps create an enhanced version (Or just a recipe craftable on the table) that combines it with the goggles. Then add in a scuba suit that gives aqua affinity that generates an itty bitty bit of flux when working while wearing it.
On the non-thaumy side:
Add in flippers that let you 'fly' underwater. (No sinking, directional movement as if flying).
Regarding the diving barrel:
Make it the only suit type that gives you armor, but slows your movement. Definitely make it add aqua affinity as an effect (Or at least reduce the water affect a little)
Alright guys! I'm almost completely done with version 1.2, so as a special surprise, I've put up a pre-release for the update. It pretty much done, with the only things I need to work on:
A glitch with the research that prevents you from seeing the recipe for the Aqualis Helm
The Scuba bug that gives you an extra bar of air
Better SMP compatibility.
Again, shouldn't be too long. Hope you guys enjoy.
Hint:
A = shard related to what you need
W = shard related to what you're in
T = magical ingot
G = glass...that's it...

Only thing I got to ask, any plan to switch the air tanks to being more of a back-equipable thing, if only for the realism side of it? Plus would make it a bit easier to make them replaceable

The Emperor's Rage echoes through the hills. The Emperor's Strength grips this land with fists of iron. The Emperor's Courage burns everlasting. The Endless Army will crush the Emperor's foes.

This is a grand idea actually. Go from just helmets to full suits, top to bottom. Could even give them armor values.
Flippers that let you 'fly' underwater, and heavy boots that let you walk along the bottom at the same speed as walking on land...

All right, all the bugs seem to be fixed. I just need to change a few things and I'll release the official 1.2 update!
Changes:
Thaumcraft 3 Support! Get a new magical helm!
Extra air bar squashed!
Item IDs changed to provide better compatibility with RedPower2. If you don't want to lose your items, don't change your config. The mod will simply give the new IDs to the new items.
Hardcore Recipes! Think the helms are cheap. Change this setting to true in your config to make everything more expensive! Does not apply to Thaumcraft items.
Plans for 1.3 Update
Coral
More helms using new Ores that are found under water.
Starting Buildcraft support (possibly be done by the next update)
Fishes?
Edit: Took down the download for a bit due to a bug that would break Thaumcraft researching. Fixed now.
Edit 2 - The Return!: Fixed a few more derps. If you downloaded a derped version, please redownload to fix them.
Made a mod showcase video on it! Feel free to use in OP.
Added it to the spotlight list. Thanks.
Edit: OH CRAP! I left hardcore mode on. I put = (which sets something equal to) instead of == (which checks if something is equal to something)
Looks excellent. I really like that it will have Thaumcraft compatibility. It is by far one of my favorite mods. Nice job
Thanks for using my mod, and Thaumcraft compatibility is done, you can use this mod along side Thaumcraft to get the Aqualis Helm. Lets you stay underwater indefinitely, but at the cost of causing flux to the nearby environment.
Anyways, the next update will be for Minecraft 1.5. It kinda bugs me that each item now needs it's own individual image file for it's textures, but I guess I'll have to deal with it. You can see all my progress in the repository: https://github.com/Lomeli12/DivingGear
Sounds very cool. Yes a lot of modders are annoyed at the 1.5 update. But whatever. If you want any help with textures PM me
I actually need a little help with texturing and modeling the different types of coral. You can find the texture file for the coral I have completed here: https://github.com/L.../CoralModel.png
Edit: Alright, with a little help from Jadar, I can now give out this snazzy cape to anyone who has made a significant contribution to the mod.
Edit 2: will release a patch for 1.2 to fix the permanent hardcore recipe mode bug.
Edit: Thanks for having me review it :3

Is awesome
Edit: One of my friends send me a link to a "Scuba Barrel". It's hilarious and I don't know if I should add it

Thanks for making this amazing mod I have made a mod showcase on it and it would be just AWESOME if you can put this on your main topic.
Idea: Add a pumpkin type effect on to each one of them with there own design.

This new block will generate in any pool of water with dirt, sand, or clay. HOWEVER, it is very difficult to find outside of ocean or swamplands.
Keep up the great work on this.

I use the two together as well, I really like it as well.
Added it to the spotlight list. Thanks.
