I just updated BiblioCraft to v2.4.0 for Minecraft v1.12.0! Everything has been updated to the new json recipe format. I explained it a bit in a post on my website, www.bibliocraftmod.com. Enjoy!
I just updated BiblioCraft and fixed a couple bugs in the version for Minecraft 1.12.0. I have the enchanted atlas added back in now, so everything should be functionally where we are at in the 1.11.x version now.
I definitely agree minecraft still feels like it is in beta in certain ways. The amount of back end changes they seem to do in every update makes me think they really didn't plan out the game very good from the beginning. Within a couple more versions there will hardly be a lick of code left in the game that was present when Minecraft 1.0.0 officially launched, if there even is any left now. I do think though that most of the changes have been for the better, even if they are painful to change to or at at times limiting.

To be fair, I don't think Notch ever dreamed when he first released Minecraft that it would become such a huge success. The coordinate system alone is evidence that there were things he didn't really think through at the start.
Don't know if can post my issue with BiblioCraft here. But I hopefully created an account to get some help.
I'm playing with Minecraft 1.10.2 with Forge 12.18.3.2185 and have installed BiblioCraft 2.2.3.
Recently I wanted to use the bibliocraft:clock with it's redstone signal capabilities...
I took one fron creative mode an placed it on an redstone lamp for testing. But it doesn't seemed to work. Even the animation isn't woring.
As I had some similar issue with an other mod where an item doesn't work when took from creative mode, I tried to craft it from base resources.
But doesn't work either.
As I'm playing in my own server with a map which was created without BiblioCraft, I created a brand new singleplayer map.
I took the bibliocraft:clock from creative mode, again.
This time the animation of the clock worked. The activation of the redstone lamp is working, too.
I have no clue what I can do make the clock working properly in my map. I'm playing alone on the map and we have spent a lot of time building...
So a restart of the map would be no solution...
Any hints are very welcome.

Do you have time stopped on your map? Like daylight all the time? The clock will stop if time is stopped since it works based on minecraft time. If that is the case and you want to keep it daylight all the time, another option would be to use a command block that does a "time set day" on redstone and setup a clock to pulse redstone when the sun starts going down.
BiblioCraft v2.4.2 just released! I updated for the newest version of forge which changed out the registry and stuff. The previous version will crash with the newer version of forge, so this update fixes that. This should be compatible with the recommended build of forge for 1.12 that is coming out tomorrow as well.
Any possibillity that you wil look into the render issue for 1.8.9 too?
Im sure that is why it keeps crashing for me.
Unlikely I will be able to get a chance to work on 1.8.9. It seems like 1.8.9 version was missing some stuff I needed too for some of the fixes I did in newer versions. Also it is hard enough trying to keep up with the 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12 now. I am honestly hoping everyone moves to 1.12 in the coming months. I want to be able to have time to actually add some new features soon instead of spending all my available time to work on BiblioCraft just updating multiple old versions.
I suspect it's going to be a long time before "everyone" moves to 1.12. Many of the major mods popular in 1.7 haven't even updated to 1.10 yet. I've seen a lot of people talking about 1.10.2 as the new "long-term stable modding" release after 1.7.10.
I'm not saying 1.12 won't pick up the same way eventually. It could. Or it could be 1.13.3 that does it. Or 1.14.1. Who knows?
I really, truly wish Mojang would finally publish the modding API they promised YEARS ago so that the rest of the Minecraft universe didn't have to rewrite every time Mojang adds or changes a feature, and modders could write their mod ONCE and then focus on maintenance and adding content, instead of spending 90% of their time just trying to catch up to the second newest release before another new version comes out.

I already posted my issue in the forum of Bibliocraft, but it seems like it is just a source for spam bots. So here it comes again:
Hi there, I have constant crashed of Minecraft and so I had a look into the log file. I don’t know if this is the source of my issue, but I thought it would be better to report it.

I've encountered an issue where on my server, Bibliocraft signs erase their messages on restart. Pretty sure this isn't Bibliocraft itself. Before I start tearing things apart for a week, does anyone know if there are any common issues with this on sponge?
I am having the same issue using Bibliocraft 2.4.3 with Forge 14.23.0.2491.
All custom paintings are loaded using a seperate resourcepack and show a missing texture (purple and black squares). The seperate resource pack has been created under the minecraft in the following minecraft sub directory: \minecraft\resourcepacks\bibliocraft_paintings\assets\bibliocraft\textures\custompaintings. All paintings have been converted to .png.
I then run minecraft, select the world save, then go to options and Resouce Packs to load (in my case) bibliocraft_paintings resouce pack.
I also tried this on my PC using the normal Minecraft 1.12.2 launcher, then again using the technic launcher for 1.12.2, then again on my MacBook Pro Minecraft 1.12.2 with Forge 14.23.0.2491. All give the correct number of custom paintings however all display as purple and black squares. And show the same when placed on a wall.
I just released an update for BiblioCraft. I got versions for MC 1.9.4, 1.10.2, and 1.11.2. This should fix that rendering crash that keeps coming up.
Grab it at www.bibliocraftmod.com
Nice! Ehm is it possible to look in 1.8.9 too for this solution?
Nice work, sir.

You know, sometimes when I read about changes in future minecraft versions, it just feels like minecraft is still in beta...

So, you mean they've finally gotten rid of all of Notch's spaghetti code? lol
Thanks for the updates!

To tell them how to live is to prevent them living.

I found a link to forge and it seems like Bibliocraft is missing some definitions for these blocks. Please have a look: LINK

I just updated Bibliocraft. I tried to fix a couple crashes and also fixed a dupe bug.
@Erik_Steiner
That error report doesn't mention BiblioCraft. The only crashes I see reference HarvestCraft.
I've encountered an issue where on my server, Bibliocraft signs erase their messages on restart. Pretty sure this isn't Bibliocraft itself. Before I start tearing things apart for a week, does anyone know if there are any common issues with this on sponge?
I don't know how I came to the conclusion, that BiblioCraft would be the source of the issue. I am sorry.
I am having the same issue using Bibliocraft 2.4.3 with Forge 14.23.0.2491.

All give the correct number of custom paintings however all display as purple and black squares. And show the same when placed on a wall.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Can anyone suggest a solution to this issue?
Thanks for any assistance.
Wow - I finally found the issue !!! -
All custom painting file names must be in lowercase.
However spaces underscores and numbers appear to be OK. As soon as I changed the names to lowercase it worked! (Absolutely no capitals !!!)
I just got this to work on my MacBook Pro - I am now going to change all my file names on my PC and really have some fun with custom paintings.
Bibliocraft !!! I love it !!!!
