This is from Nuchaz' post two pages back when he posted the update.
*Upgraded Tape Measure: Now places a "marker pole" block when starting a measurement and also reads a real time display of the distance to that block in meters. The block is removed upon completing a measurement. The block is non-craftable and has no hit box so it cannot be destroyed by hand. If for some reason a block is not removed then simply starting a new measurment on the same block and completing the measurment will remove the block.
So in short, placing the Marker block via Creative will make it stay there permanently as it has no hitbox and thus cannot be destroyed. But try what he says to do in the last statement and see if that works.

I'm going to assume that your son has the latest Minecraft Launcher and is trying to download Bibliocraft (this mod) for 1.6.2.

Go here first. You see where it says "Latest 9.10.0.840 1.6.2"? To the right of that, you should see some links. Click the "Installer" link and download the Installer. Go to where you downloaded the Installer on your computer and open it with the program called "Java™ Platform SE Binary". When the window pops up, choose "Install Client" and hit OK. Forge should now be installed.
Since I use Windows, here's a link to a video on Youtube that will tell you how to get to your .minecraft folder: From start to about 1:30, he tells you how to get there.
Once you get there, go to the folder called "mods." Drag and drop the whole Bibliocraft zip file (still zipped) into that folder (mods). Then, start up Minecraft as you normally do. Under the Profiles tab at the bottom left, Hit "New Profile" Under Versions, choose the "Forge" version. Next, rename the profile to something, like "Forge". Hit "Save Profile". Now hit "Play." If everything is working as intended, you will be at the Minecraft home screen with some text in the bottom left corner saying something like this:
Minecraft Forge (version number), etc.
You should also see the Mods button under the Multiplayer button. Click it and scroll through the list that will appear. If Bibliocraft was installed correctly, it will be shown there. Then all there's left to do is start a world and have fun.
Hope this helps you and your son out. Oh and just for future notice, most mods these days run on Forge. So most only require you to have Forge installed and then all you will have to do is drop the .zip file into the mods folder in your .minecraft folder. There may be exceptions to that rule, but usually the mod author will tell you that.
Thanks a TON everyone who has been helping out with language translations! I am blown away by the response. To help make this process a little easier, I have went through all the languages that have been posted and PM'd to me and picked out what I thought was the best of the ones that got multiple submissions. I took what I have and created a Github Repository. On the readme on the first page I made a list of all the languages I have so far for BiblioCraft and the authors behind the ones that are there. Sorry if I didn't use your translation, but you are more than welcome to help make sure the one I did use is correct. I will continue to sift through what gets posted here and update the github, but I also encourage anyone to come check out the git and help update/fix/add to my growing list of translations.

I looks like you possibly only have a BiblioWoods addon installed and are missing the regular BiblioCraft. BiblioCraft is required before the BiblioWoods addons will work. It's possible your BiblioCraft zip file got corrupted during downloading or something. If you do have it, try re-downloading it and see if that fixes it.

Стенд для брони - should be "Стойка для брони"
Держак для инструментов - should be "Стеллаж для инструментов" (or just "Полка")
Банка для печеньем - should be "Банка для печенья"
