Greg, I have a big problem. All other mods on my server now run on OpenComputers (OC) 1.4 and I now have to upgrade OC to 1.4. Your mod is not yet compatible with OC 1.4 and I have to disable the compatibility with OC until you upgrade SGCraft. I have no choice, it's the only thing to do for now. Is there a way to do that?
If you can find the time to upgrade, because OC 1.3 is dead. Now it's OC 1.4. Thank.
2)
Edit : (an old message that you didn't see) :
Also, I detected a kind of error in your documentation. When the vortex is stabilising, the correct state is "Opening", not "Connecting". And you forgot to mention the "Closing" state too. Also, there is no way to know the direction of the vortex if you didn't received the events "sgDialIn" or "sgDialOut". For example, a program that opens when the stargate is dialling is unable to know the direction of the vortex.
3)
Another suggestion: when a stargate trys to open itself to a wrong destination, it's the 7th (or 9th) chevron that should refuse to engages. You could do that the stargage begins to dial but cannot engage the last chevrons. And doing the same if there is no enough energy. Except if there is not energy at all, in that case, nothing will do.

Okay, I'll see what I can do about these.
As for (3), I had it that way originally, but I found it really annoying to have to wait through the whole dialling sequence before finding out that something was wrong. I suppose I could make it an option.
There's also the technical issue that it's easier to find out which player to send the error messages to at the point where dialling is initiated, although that's probably not insurmountable.
Greg, when you will update SGCraft for OpenComputers 1.4 ?
I guess, when he find enough time for it. Modding is time consuming activity. He is probably updating for minecraft 1.8. and there are changes in rendering system, so lots of the stuff must be rewritten. And again, there is this Christmas thing. Please be patient.
personally i think you should add ruins with gate addresses throughout the world would be intresting to go to an area with like a hundred zombies waiting for you!
I got one. Allow for horizontal gate building. There were a few episodes where a gate was found in a horizontal position. It made for some interesting logistics. Also...cover stones...definitely cover stones...

I hope he's not updating for 1.8 yet. Because we'll stuck with the old version of SGCraft that doesn't work with OC.
Forge is not released for 1.8 so I hope mods will continue to update themself in 1.7 for a while.

dude this mod is just great, super well coded, you got textures pack for it already? i will be glad to make some if you want!
got some questions:
1) the stargate will dial and work ok to the End (Ender Dragon dimension)
2) the stargate work on galacticraft dimensions as i saw, i was wandering if it works on any dimension, from any mod, or just the dimensions from some mods you coded, if this is the case, does it work for the Ether Mod? i want a gate to heaven lol
2)i was wandering if it works on any dimension, from any mod, or just the dimensions from some mods you coded
It depends on what dimension ID numbers the mod uses. It should work for any dimension ID from -648 to 647.
You can find out what dimension IDs are being used by looking in the saves folder. The data for non-overworld dimensions is kept in subfolders called "DIMn" where n is the dimension ID.

Apparently, despite looking like a pool of water, a stargate wormhole should not be fished in or through. ;P
(Actually an accident, discovering this, but yeah. That's a thing.)
Addendum: This is the first time I've seen a fishing rod crash the game. Heh.
Hi Greg! Great mod, but I've got a bit of a bug to report. I've been using your example code for gate control, but I can't help but notice that when using the interactive program, when dialling out, the iris closes on a gate as soon as the dial starts. I can't seem to find this anywhere on the Lua side of things within the program, so I'm fairly certain it's within the code of the mod itself that's causing it. I hope you can take a look.
That would do it! I've got a mess of bundled cable and such to have Cage Lamps go off during incoming/outgoing dials. Chances are those are triggering it. I'll try rearranging my cables next time I'm on that modpack.
It would have been the latest version of OC, so that explains it.
Sorry Greg. Upon closer examination, I was running 1.3.2...der der der...I just installed 1.8.5. All is good.
Thanks for the great mod.
BTW, the gates are ROUND!!!! LOL.

Forge is not released for 1.8 so I hope mods will continue to update themself in 1.7 for a while.
It is released:
http://files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge//1.8
Maybe it is pre-release or beta, but it is there.
No, I'm still waiting for an official Forge release for 1.8. I plan to update the 1.7 version for OC 1.4, and then start thinking about 1.8.

I haven't made any textures myself other than what the mod comes with. You're welcome to make some of you want.
Haven't tested it recently, but it should.
