I used to maintain the Minecraft Forums Mod List. However, life has stepped in the way of that. Perhaps later...

Can you make another download link for the 1.5.1 version? I can't seem to access it for the time being. A direct link would be nice. Thanks.
Apologies everyone, ad fly was down this morning and I wasn't at a computer to put up a direct download. The download should be good now.
On the bright side (for me at least), adfly is compensating with double pay rates tomorrow
The thread has been very quiet lately! I suppose there hasn't been all the hype about when it will be updated to 1.5, then 1.5.1... anyway, thought I would give a little teaser to one of the main new features coming to this mod soon!
Basically, it allows you to use valuable ores and gems to give your guns a boost in a certain stat by inlaying it with the gem. This comes at a price, of course: 4 gems to inlay the gun, plus to repair it, you now must use whatever gem it is inlaid with. Each gem will affect something different about the gun: range, durability, or chance of misfire, or getting a small boost to all. The gems you can use to inlay a gun (for now) will be gold ingots, diamonds, emeralds, and obsidian (not telling which does what yet!). They may change, and I may add in more. The inlay will also cause a cosmetic change to your gun depending on the inlay. Hopefully you can use this feature to fine-tune your gun to better fit your needs, i.e. if you like to pick those creepers off from afar, you might want to inlay your musket (which will have a finite, reduced range) to boost its effective range. Or maybe you're planning a long nether trip and don't want to lug around an anvil to keep your revolver in working order, then inlay it to increase its durability! I think this will be a really cool and unique feature, and I hope you all will too!
The other main aspect to the big update will be new weapons, as everyone loves Everything I will be adding has been mentioned somewhere in this thread, so look through and speculate if you'd like.
Keep on shootin' and keep your eyes peeled for more info on the big update!
Yay, can't wait. My guess is that the obsidian increases durability, and emerald range. Wonder what the diamond does? EDIT: Hey look at my number of posts!
Glad you're excited! And congrats on 123 posts, now you can't say anything without ruining it though
I am running into missing textures for this mod. Any advice would be appreciated. I am not using a texture pack but do have optifine installed. Sure enough when I check craftguide no textures for a few guns.

following the example of revolver.png and it's subicons revolver1.png to revolver6.png, I've just added six copies of grevolver.png with added numbers (grevolver1.png to grevolver6.png) and six copies of drevolver.png (same as grevolver), rezipped and started minecraft. That fixed the problem with the missing icons...
Thanks for the reply. I finally tried that and it did fix the texture error but I do not think that the loaded and unloaded aspect will be correct in the icons. I have not actually tried it out. No big deal i guess. You will know its unloaded when it goes click click.
@cmcmmcmc and Torojima:
The 'drevolver' and 'grevolver' guns you are looking at are part of the unimplemented inlay system I explained in an above post. I had started coding it before the 1.5.1 update, and when I updated the mod, I forgot to take the partially done inlay guns out, allowing you to craft those diamond and gold revolvers. I don't think they function any differently in that version though, other than the texture. So just pretend you didn't see that and all will be good Expect gold, diamond, emerald, and obsidian guns of all type in the next update though!
but I have another "problem". Downloadable is "Flintlock Guns Mod v1.4.2.zip", but I do have downloaded "Flintlock Guns Mod v1.4.3.zip" earlier (some days ago, don't ask exactly when). Now the 1.4.2 version does freeze the game with the client log showing the following error:

Flintlock Guns Mod v1.4.3.zip on the other hand works very well and with the copying of the missing icons perfectly ...
As for that, 1.4.2 is for Minecraft 1.5, not 1.5.1. If you're playing 1.5.1, you'll need to install Flintlock Guns 1.4.3.
BUG ??? Smelted round ammo- 1st iron bar = 4 balls. Second =+1. third=+1. For a total of 3 iron bars = 6 round ammo. BUT if I take each stack of 4 out before the next bar cooks, it gives me 4 balls + 4 balls + 4 balls, etc.

It should give 4 balls per ingot no matter what. What it does now is inexplicably strange, and I have no clue why it does that. I'm actually really surprised nobody (including me) had noticed it yet. I'll look for a fix.
Btw, it's happening with coal to gunpowder smelting too, and I assume any smelting that yields more than one item.
After two days, I finally decided to break the 123 posts thing. Any news or release dates for the new weapons and upgrades?
The inlay system is just about done! Here's some pictures of the fancy guns:
From left: regular, gold, diamond, emerald, and obsidian inlaid revolvers and muskets.
Holding a diamond inlaid revolver. Note that they are simply called *inlay* *gun* as in "diamond revolver." This particular gun lasts twice as long as a regular, non-inlaid revolver due to the diamond inlay.
Additionally, there will be four new additions to your flintlock armory! You'll be seeing a new long-range, powerful weapon, two close range weapons shooting a spread pattern, and a mounted gun with a large ammo capacity. Stay posted for more!
My guesses: Long range, powerful = High power musket, or maybe a buffalo rifle? Close range weapons = Blunderbuss? IDK what else. Mounted gun = WW1 turret, puckle gun, mounted rifle? All I can say is, i'm exited!
